tahmed writes "then you run to live in countries where the rule of law is considered the number 1 priority!! "
Salam and greetings of peace tahmed sahib,
How did the ramazan fast go? Iftar alright? Naan or chawal? murgh or sabzi?
Yeah,we know when you talk about the "law" you mean the white man's law that is where everyone who is a detriment to the corporation or not of the correct color is locked up, they came up with laws to legitimize barbarism and lawlessness and Tahmed celebrates it as some kind of achievement! Kind of how self stupification passes for civilization in capitalist socieites...

tahmed,
..... i don't know which tv you are watching ..... all i see on geo and ary and ptv are crowds of unwashed and hungry pakis desperately pushing and shoving to get atta and ghee being thrown from the back of trucks ......... pakis were always clueless, but now they are literally in the dark with six to eight hours of electricity ...... i hear people whining about prices and shortages and cursing everyone and everything .....
......but i really don't see anyone other than hamid mir and his well heeled guests and bearded mullahs with bad breath clamoring for the restoration of the droopy eyed one ........ in a few days even hamid mir, like kamran khan and others, will stop talking about the narcoleptic judge ..... my suggestion to the pco-1 cj : follow your comrades' lead and swear your allegience to the new king ......
zardari zindabad !
p.s. i didn't watch any tv for the last five days but when i finally turned it on last night, i didn't hear anything about nawaz sharif or aitizaz ahsan or the unemployable lawyers ...... what happened ? .... you don't have to answer - it is a rhetorical question

#230 "dont give a flip"? i guess you switched off the TV when you saw the crowds come out. or else you are talking of a different planet.
i have met a number of pakistanis like you who still retain the paindoo notion that following rules and the law is for fools. but - then you run to live in countries where the rule of law is considered the number 1 priority!! romair isnt the only clueless wonder among pakistanis!!

tahmed,
..... 'adulation'? ........ there you go again - totally out of touch with reality ......... mian ji, the unwashed masses don't give a flip about the droopy-eyed one any more .... the only person who is still clinging to him is nawaz sharif - even aitizaz ahsan seems to have dropped him and is supporting the kleptomaniac prince's presidency ....
...... the droopy eyed one will go doen as a footnote in history as the man who took oath as a dictator's chief juistice, then turned on him for a while and later became pakistan's first ambassador to east timor ........ just another lota ......

hamidm #223 I got into a fight only once in school recess (which I won because the other guy was on the ground, although he did get dirty and squeeze what we called the HQ and that really hurt), and once in college. This is how it worked - my man (say Mr. Masadi) started the fight by delivering a couple of surprise punches to the other man (say Mr. Hamidm). Hamidm is dazed, and comes back swinging. Tahmed then steps in and, on the pretext of being the peacemaker, holds back Hamidm from doing any damage to Masadi. The plan worked beautifully, I must admit, even though I am not proud of it.

hamidm: as i have reminded you before, position of the "droopy eyed judge" in Pakistan's history is secure. When he appears in public, he gets the kind of adulation that any politician in Pakistan would sell his favorite silver-spouted lota to have.
Your "rising sun" Mush's place in history is also secure - albeit not as the ataturk or hosni mubarak or even the commando that he was finally willing to settle for. And Mush hides from the public like a rat hides from the cat.
As for which one of us is the fool - let me just say that a man is known by the company he keeps. So, I plead guilty to being a fool, given the time I waste on chowk.

Tahmed writes "Thus proving that being right compared to Hamidm is a very low bar to aim for. "
Low it might be compared to a moron with a sprinkler guy, the fool cannot figure out how to turn on his own sprinkler!, on the other hand it certainly isn't lower than the 4 annas he is offering you for your services!
Have a nice day, for the judgment is nigh,

tahmed,
.... i have a question for you .... when is the droopy eyed pco-1 judge going to be restored ?
.... if your naivete was not so pathetic, it would be funny .....
.... i bet you were the kid who got beaten up at recess and lost his four annas at school every day ..... are you still hoping to collect? ...... come and get it ! (evil chuckle)

hamidm: "they are the most backward, joyless, mean-spirited and miserable people on god's green earth .."
there, there...it only looks that way if you are seeing the world through the spout of a lota.

Please enlighten us with your survey response that takes note of the economic structure and other material facts before pontificating on Islam. Regarding the siesta, if hard work was the determinant of progress in this miserably skewed work, you'd find Pakistan near the top of the list of development. Instead of punching buttons on a few machines, the folk here do "real" work....

masadi mian,
... i hate to disappoint you, but cheema sahib will probably like my 'corrupt' response better than your canned first grade islamiyat answer .....
... the fact of the matter is that mohammedans spend more hours praying, fasting, mourning, beating their chests and washing their private parts than any tribe ..... and yet, they are the most backward, joyless, mean-spirited and miserable people on god's green earth .......
......... during this 'holy' month of self inflicted starvation and religious frenzy the moslem world practically shuts down for business ..... now, the bedouin can afford to take the month off because the white man and the yellow man and the hindoo keeps the oil flowing, but what about us? ...... how can we afford to take a siesta from two to six and then head off for taraweeh to please the moon god ........... what about productivity ? ....... and even those who do show up for work are in a foul mood and keep on yelling at cusomers: "abhey jah! mujhey rozay mein tang na kar - mein aagay bohat tang baitha hun !" ...... what happened to customer service ? ...........
.... the only thing that goes on with bloody efficiency is jihad - the slaughter continues in the name of al-lah ....... that is the spirit of ramadhan .........
happy ramzan !

Akcheema writes "what is so "pleasing" or happy about a month where one has to forfeit all worldly pleasures for God? some here tell me (Islamists in fact) that it is NOT necessary
why is it that the ours is the only religious/cultural tradition I know that starts its year with ten days of mourning?"
Salam and greetings of peace Cheema sahib. You happen to be one of the "not so very smart ones" on Chowk, pardon my digression, but your questions give a unique insight into the workings of your mind, and between the empty spaces and darkness, not much appears in the way of light....
Let me start with your second question, that of mourning. You are asking a sect specific question, so might I suggest you ask a member of the appropriate sect and I assume he or she will reply telling you that "celebration" at the beginning of the year is also a cultural event and need not be placed on a higher plane than mourning. Further this "mourning" dates from long after the demise of the prophet and is not either recommended or encouraged by the Quran, so attributing it to Islam is erroneous, the work of a mischievous mind like yours.
Regarding the "joy" of Ramazan, the wishing of "happy ramazan" is a greeting of the season, like the many seasons greetings you send to your Christian bosses and bossettes, no where in that greeting is the hidden assumption that it is a joy to give up food and drink. Those that think at the 'animal' level, like hamid mian (and your good self)assume that subsistence is the be all and end all of a human existence and therefore giving up food and drink for a while is a terrible tragedy. Those that think on a higher plane, that of consciousness and of the species of humanity as a whole take this opportunity to become self-conscious of the suffering of the vast majority of humanity who have to go without such food and drink due to no choice of their own but an unjust system that has commodified all human needs including sex and denies it to the vast majority and uses it for all things profane....
Have a good day, for the judgment is nigh,
TNI Masadi
p.s Hamid, please refrain from "answering" questions that were never asked of you. Thank you kindly for your kind (and corrupt) understanding.
