The news, and subsequently the Pakistani blogosphere, was abuzz during the over a Pakistani student’s refusal to accept Harvard Scholarship from the US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson in an award distribution ceremony in Islamabad.....
Now the CJ has visited the US for recieving the medal for his services....
I have highest expectations from the oversung hero…to put the case of american strikes on our territories…case of red mosque and missing people….I hope he will have the courage of refusing any honor from the land of the liberty statue….as the media has appreciated Samad Khurram’s for his courage(??)

barrister mian,
... actually i am very impressed by the quality of mqm leadership that i see on tv - particularly farooq sattar and the young mayor of karachi ..... altaph bhai (like zardari) presents a very negative image of his party and it is time for the real leadership to step in ...... the best thing that can happen for mqm is for altaph bhai to keel over with a massive heart attack - i hope they are feeding him nihari every day ...........

further to #79 ... and the same argument applies to mqm in karachi - it is the job of the military and the police in all civilized countries to maintain law and order. If you look to a bunch of hoodlums (whether street ghoondas in karachi, or armed lashkars in bejaur) to do the job, you are merely being stupid (for reasons explained in #79 below).

Hamidm #76 I think the Pakistan military is repeating its past mistakes by arming the lashkars against Al Qaeda and Taliban:
1. These lightly armed, poorly trained lashkars are put unduly in harms way, their personal courage notwithstanding.
2. Once the taliban are kicked out, these armed lashkars will become the de facto power, and this defeats the goal of establishing the "writ of the government very " that Zardari and co talk about.
Not only is use of lashkars defeating the purpose, it is unnecessary - The F-16s that buried the bastards in the caves they were hiding in, along with the helicopters and tanks plus conventional infantry in fact proved quite effective in taking out the taliban in Bejaur thus cutting off the route musharraf had conveniently allowed them to establish to enter Swat and N/S Waziristan as well.
So, when you are having chai-and-samosa at Rawalpindi Club with your fauji friends, perhaps you could beat some sense into them.

hamidm bhai, as your Sheikh Rasheed says "Khawishoon ko Khar Na Ban-ain" ! Yes, AH is not perfect but he's has sacrificed for sure - although I too agree that there should be a change of guards too but how? not now - we need atleast 2-3 elections aur wasay bhe Rabita Committee micro-manages MQM not AH.

tahmed mian,
..there you go again! ....... your men in uniform don't seem to have their heart in the fight - half of them have beards and the other half don't have the gonads ..... that is why they are raising local laskars to do their job ......it is just a matter of time before the wild-eyed jihadis stream through attock and make their way down to multan - punjabis, shameless creatures that we are, will capitulate as we have done throughout history .......... so it is up to our mqm brethren to put up a fight for civilization ...........
.... i still think they can do better without that lunatic from londaon - where did they find him !!! ..... he sounds like masadi's cell mate from the looney bin ....

Hamidm2, you are right in when you say – any normal person would say that for Altaf Bhais personality (my hates him but voted for him during the previous election). Now
What we look at is the message and not the messenger – he’s not perfect but let me assure
You that the decision he takes are for the benefit of the people of KHI/HYD and Urban
Sindh. That’s how far I go…!!!!

Hamidm: nations dont depend on criminals to fight other criminals - they depend on their men and women in uniform.
And how hard is that for you to grasp?

#71 hamidm: even "democratically elected" individuals are not above the law. And this party carried out the May 12 killings, and has in its ranks the cold blooded murderers of patriotic Pakistanis who actually fought for democracy.
Is that so hard to understand?
Is that so hard to understand?

tahmed,
.... i am really disappointed by your attitude towards the democratically elected representatives of the people of karachi ..... as a paragon of virtue and defender of democracy, i expected better from you ! ......... how can you beat up on the good people of karachi for excercising their right to vote ..... these people are a sophisticated bunch and unlike the unwashed mahjas sahjas of punjab and the khar damagh pathans, they do not elect doodh-walas from gowalmandi or crooked mullahs from dera ismail khan who are in cahoots with the taliban ........
....... don't forget that we need the mqm and the people of karachi to defeat the taliban - they are the only people who will stand up to mullahs and other riff raff .....
but i do wish our friends from karachi would find another leader - that guy ... what's his name ...is a joker ! ..... he can't be for real, is he?

The judge Iftiqar Chaudry was the main supporter of Mutterraf rule. He for 8 years out of 9 years of Muttarraf's rule, endorsed each and every illegal action and law created by general mutteraf. Judge Iftiqar was the one who enabled muterraf to make his illegal takeover of the country look like legal to the world. Judge iftiqar support enabled musharraf to rule and eventually destroy Pakistan, you can say indirectly by supporting mutterraf rule. We have a short memory, just like when Nawaz threw out mustteraf, and mutteraf revolted, similarly judge ifitqar had revolted against. I am not supporting mutteraf nor am against judge iftiqar. All I want to tell my fellow members here is that judge ifitiqar and mutteraf are same type of fraudlents, self centered and selfish persons to me. Both revolted against their masters when they turned against them otherwise they did nothing good for the nation. Judge iftiqar, if given a chance will be worse than mutteraf. I think we all should forget about him and move ahead. PPP and PML (N) must implement the COD (Charter of Democracy)and appoint new non-PCO judges.

yarr bhai barrister daykhoo u can blame imran for sleeping with sita white and all this other bullshit but rest assured that if ms. white had allowed babar ghouri in her pants he would sell his parents to shack up with her...yeah khisyani billi khamba notchay wali baat hayy....no one has credible gripe against imran because hes a clean man from most accounts...this is a sad scare tactic that hes taleban ..its about as true as MQM not being the fair representative of ppl of karachi.
The argument against imran is that ..yes he might not advocate violence and yes his party might not have any arms...but then who the fukk is he in pakistani politics? My point is that you are a nobody in pakistani politics specially karachi politics if u r not armed to teeth and thats not thanks to MQM its thanks to the dictatorship of 60 yrs who has projected to this qaum that if you want to be relevant than pick up arms...pathan aslaha uthaa taa hayy to wohh uska haq hay, uski saqafat hay...hamm uthaa lein yeah bengalii utha layy too wohh ghaddar hay...yeahh dramaybazii abb nahii challay gii
