Anil sahib, read some up on hypothesis testing, your knowledge of science is that of a lab technician, a predigested microwaved result that followed after the "falsification" part had already been applied. What I write about hypothesis testing is 100% factual, what you wrote about science proving and not disproving tells me, just as it tells other educated folk here that you're a damn ignoramus.

Have a nice day and keep following me around like a chaprasee, you have nothing better to do with your dimwitted mentality.

Re: # 19

Masadi sahib:

"..idiot you don't even know the basics of science that it progresses not by proving but by disproving, falsification.."

You do resort to foul language when you do not understand. May be buckle of bible-belt college is not meritocracy. Please repeat several times a day, that Scientific methods only prove, corollary (the opposite is deductive), and probity continues until the thesis is proven. Let me give you example. Do you understand "proof positive" and "proof negative" tests. A proof postive proof conclusively says that there is a viral infection. A proof negative only proves that this test came out negative and does not disprove presence of virus.

I addressed that point Hoodbhoy, because I knew that is beyond comprehension.

When you make the statement (#25) it only shows that you do not even know hypothesis.

Masadi sahib:

"...But since you don't know anything about science you wouldn't understand that either..."

This is an example of qualitative statement when quantitative skills are lacking. To you self-reference (remember you killing Godel's) is enough as in the above. This can be politely called ignorance.

Re: # 22

"...No the reasoning is in the qualitative part,..."

Again ignorance, if a person lacks quantitative skills, he would lack ability to synthesize and make qualitative (= subjective) assessment.

Anil writes "Absence of quantitative skills will ensure that you would not understand what I and everyone defines the Scientific methods..."

Unfortunately you do not understand the abcs of science, and quantitative unless incorporated within a qualitative theory means shit. But since you don't know anything about science you wouldn't understand that either. Making big claims as is the occupation of snake oil salesmen means nothing. The 70th percentile in quantitative is also not a bad score and that after one week of preparation....

Anil writes "Quantitative part demonstrate analytical and reasoning"

No the reasoning is in the qualitative part, especially the critical thinking. Quantitative is about rote memorization of formulas from High School level math...

You idiot you don't even know the basics of science that it progresses not by proving but by disproving, falsification. HBS taught you how to be a snake oil seller, much like your friends on Wall street and the mess and suffering they have created around the world,

Masadi sahib seems to be hiding the score in quantitative part, and the subject. Quantitative part demonstrate analytical and reasoning, this confirms that he lacks the both.

Anil writes : Masadi sahib, are you ripping off almost $6,000 (Rs. 350,000) per month

My salary at the public Univ was Rs.25000 per month (minus the taxes and tea fees) and it was no rip off teaching 4 MA level sections of 60 students each. My education, compared to your disgrace on the other thread, is no matter of concern for retards like your goodself,

Whatever univ I went to, the fact that your HBS graduate Anil was just stumped in a most disgraceful manner on the other thread and none of you IIT giants can hold a candle to anyone of my arguments, not to mention this sorry rebuttal, is masterpiece enough for me.

of course you did, your theft of other's ideas not withstanding I am not interested in saas bahu ke baatian on here. My time is precious. Further teaching social science in the US where I educated the students regarding the crimes of the white man does not make me a slave to the West and since you were detached from my post 2006 history, I did return to Pakistan in 2007 to teach soc at one of the public and then a private university.

Masadi Sahib:

“...Today a public university professor, provided he successfully finagles himself into the higher-paying (tenure track) position, can make as much as Rs 350,000 per month....

Masadi sahib, are you ripping off almost $6,000 (Rs. 350,000) per month for what you have to offer to the students in the name of education and knowledge? At Choek, you have demonstrated that you seriously lack foundamentals on which education and knowledge is normally built, only then one can teach others.

“... But the flawed selection mechanism, which amounted to a simple numeracy and literacy high-school-level test, permitted large numbers of academically unprepared students to slip through into advanced graduate programmes.

Is this how you slipped out to the buckle of bible-belt college with 40 percentile in GRE? You have boasted the name of your elitist of the elites Islamabad high school several times, but you do not mention the name of your buckle of the bible-belt college. Why are you ashamed of naming it, could it be that you like to show yourself off as “America Return in your institution?

Hoobhoy sahib:

“...Broadly speaking, higher education reform must now aim primarily at improving teaching quality...

The first priority needs to build a true meritocracy in the education system so that really deserving students can rise to their level.

40th percentile in GRE hardly qualifies for meritocracy. It is, instead, scrapping the barrel (Masadi sahib on the Chowk is one example). You are probably aware that IITs in India selection rate is 1% of applicants, whereas as in the U.S. Ivy Leagues and similar institutions acceptance rate ranges to 10% of applicants. It is a well established fact that among such a group, teaching quality improves, because it challenges students and Professors alike. Your own time at MIT should prove this point.
