My GRE in the qualitative part, was in the 90th percentile

Hamid writes "40% on the gre"
My GRE was in the qualitative part was in the 90th percentile, and currently I am in a Phd program. I also got a 100% scholarship to the Univ of Edinburgh which a handful of students get, but I had to turn them down because of living expenses.
Social workers increase in direct proportion to social problems because they are a privatized solution to public problems, public problems do not require private solutions they require restructuring.
Have a nice day and take it easy,

This article is excellent. like many of your other high calibre ones.there are a number of very sensible solutions i agree with.but i like this one as the best, for i find it basic and easily possible if it is addressed.re;because bad teaching quality comes from having teachers with insufficient knowledge of their subject, it is important both to have better teacher selection mechanisms and to create large scale teacher training academies in every province". I suggest that “tags should include the words “madcap and “grinding teeth. It is heartbreaking to read what students are writing about HEC’s letdown.cut in grants to universities is going to have a tough effect on the students' higher study plans.still HEC would use all its resources and think tanks to keep its word to the PhD professors and scholarship students at all cost.now it is easy to see all new and upcoming universities will have to be on their own to make their new institute research- enabled to say the least.and build their own infra structure which can ably support research program.the LABS, the equipment, the library, the internet infrastructure and facility should all be ready and available.
next thing is the research program, for M.phil and PhD.this ball should be in HEC’ s court, only when the research program is duly on the valid anvil then must HEC step in.the university should be ready firstly with all the students admitted, the topics for research chosen, and the highly paid PhD professors appointed as their guide and mentor.that done, apart from the initial financing to cover the cost of preparatory and the indenting of any research program, the rest of the grant should be given instead of lumpsum, in adequate intervals phased out over the entire course.the feasibility of which should speed up by leaps and bounds, in the expected estimation and assessment of the sustaining and supporting cost continuously.the phased out grants should be prompt.period.for this a viable grants committee should be involved actively through the research programs of all universities, and never be allowed to collapse.this will have to be a very conscious effort by all departments concerned.speed of research work should be rewarded if it shows to be accelerating.breakdown in research progress due to teacher or student is another story and should be considered for solving problems, on a “quantum physics calculator -’y’ “ level.no kidding.

cheema sahib,
.... what you say might be right, but masadi is not even a social worker - he simply studies sociology .... which is the equivalent of watching the grass grow ....

I have always believed the number of 'social' problems contract/expand depending on the number of 'social workers' available to deal with them .... actually someone better known than myself said that long ago ... may be somebody here can set me right on this?

Hi Masadi after such a long time. I missed you when you decided to disappear after my comments 137-140 at http://www.chowk.com/interacts/13958/1/0/0#373745.
"The only "trail" I saw them "blazing" were the motels line up alongside the interstate system where you blaze in and blaze out and our friends say, "Have a nice day and come back soon"...I doubt Musharraf had the Indians in mind, he most probably had the white man whom he worshiped in mind and wanted to emulate him as an ideal House Slave..."
To this guy Indian, Well-said indeed.
However, are you sure you yourself don't worship the white man? Like many others, You are also licking white man's a** to get a piece of paper called the "PhD".
Earlier, I noticed, by chance, that your previous introductory sentence on this website used to be along the lines "Asadi teaches social science in the US ..." Is such an introduction not worshipping the white man?

Let us take Arjun Suggestion.
We should develop institutions of higher learing and be named Pakistan Muslim institute of Technolgy. We should take financial help from all muslim nations to form this intermuslim international institute and keep indians organization in dust. Only 15 days worth of oil out of all muslims land can put 5 times all money put by india. Just in 15 days that is powerof money. 60% seats should be reserved for pakistanis and remaining 30% for arab and muslim world students and remaining 10% seats can be qctioned to highest bidders. The best muslim thinkers, scientist, technonologists all over world should be lured by pious appeal of muslim money fortified with lucrative salaray package. Also 5% can be reserved for oppressed muslims like indian, kashmiri, burmies, thai, and european muslims. !% for muslims from africa. The will 10 colleges with 4 colleges in Karachi specially for international students. Presently education is useless as no moral teaching is going on. Isalamise education and educationise muslims. Teach with faith and courage. Lahore can have specvial ibnstitute for "Management science as al;ready the college there is one of prestigeous in world and many of its students are working at very high positions in world science, technology. Karachi's famous medical and engg college can play wpart. Also we need to employ good prof from USA uk etc . ASk every country to give one institute as india got from usa german, japan, uk and germany. We should add specially with help of china in tech. Some institute for arabs who can not afford to go to usa can get same or better education back in PK.
Hope things move inthat matter. KISA is going to grant 5 Billion Oil Facility. Hope next step be offensive on education by president and specially women education as it was mandate by Benzir. Good day

Hoodbhoy is an ignoramus who shouldn't be taken seriously in these matters. Corruption in the education sector of Pakistan is no more than corruption in other areas and it is primarily due to the US, because the Pakistan Army which has been nurtured into its position of dominance by the U.S has destroyed all civil institutions of this country and made them scavengerous leeches, and that includes the educational institutions because the military fears them

An egregious example is the $4.3bn HEC mega-project to establish nine new engineering universities staffed by hundreds of European professors.
Gen Musharraf declared that the annual production of PhD degree holders would be boosted from 150 per year to 1,500 per year.
Lets face it...pakis were envious of Indian success stories like the IITs...graduates from the IITs were blazing a trail in the west....pakis thought they could spend a bunch of money and develop institutions overnight...
Institutions like the IITs can't be created overnight...it takes time and patience..and investment...
Pakiland invested it's time and resources in it's own IITs..institutes of islamic terrorism..by islamic terrorism standards, they've been remarkably successful...
