Hamidumdum2 #10 {"i think obama has sent the right signal by appointing an ex-israeli armyman as his chief of staff ..... the israelis know how to deal with islamic miscreants "}

Hamidumdum Sahib,
We agree that the Tally Ban, Al Kayda, and their blind supporters are the true enemies of our people. I think that they have neither a cause nor an agenda - they are purely vindictive for some personal grief and slur suffered by their devilish leaders at the hands of their puppeteers during years gone by.

I am sure that the President-elect selected his Chief of Staff for the latter's organizational skills and not because of his links to terrorism - either through his father or through his military service. LOL

We can fight our own terrorists without resorting to self-flagellation.

With one advisor, SOnal Shah, whose links with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad were exposed yesterday by the Hindustan Times and his most important confidante, Rahm Emmanuel a former volunteer in the Israeli Army in the Six Day War, Pakistan had better be as cautious as pssible about an Obama Presidency. And afraid.

He did threaten to bomb Pakistan very early in his campaign and has never shied away from saying that he would put the troops who are fighting in Iraq in Afghanistan instead. You do NOT need 150,000 soldiers to fight a rag-tag bunch like the Taliban. The target that Obama has in mind is Pakistan. And this means trouble for the whole of South Asia.
"I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is a disgrace, two are a law firm and three are called a Congress." - John Adams, 1776.

I hate the Pakistani Taliban’s apologist – they should be rounded up and forced to stay with Taly-bans!

I seriously doubt’s Pakistan army’s intentions in dealings in FATA – they seems to be confused. They need occasional injections to sweep the Islamists. I know for the fact that American drones are targeting the right places at a right time and killing the who’s – who of the talibans and Al-Queda – if Pakistani Army can not do the job – Americans and British have all the right to come in and finish the job for us.

Re: # 5
ahmed...
...even indians want solution for kashmir problem; dismantle terrorist training camps in POK. Some were destroyed during earthquake and there was temporary lull in jihadi barbarism....now again it is picking up....india (like afg) should ask part of ISAF to station in kashmir and use hellfire missiles to kashmiri jihadis...

{"But this talk about dialogue and reconciliation in Afghanistan has not been extended to neighbouring Pakistan, where unmanned and armed US spy planes have been striking with alarming regularity over the past few months, killing and maiming dozens and forcing thousands of villagers to flee their homes.

Such deaths and displacement will only strengthen militancy in the area, by fuelling the tribal code of revenge, warn analysts.

This, combined with the region’s lack of development and economic desperation, makes it imperative for the incoming US President to re-evaluate the situation -- and Washington’s policy on Pakistan. "}

Beena,
Nicely written and well presented article. My comment is that of course there must be dialogue. President-elect Obama has championed dialogue - especially with enemies. The problem is that what do the Tally Ban want to achieve? We have seen the results of their hold on power - violence, subjugation of women, intimidation of men, and displays of barbarity that would drive a decent Mullah into a convent for refuge.

One thing is certain - the Pakistani military should not receive any more new toys. Instead, Pakistan should receive substantial humanitarian, social, economic, and educational assistance - especially for FATA residents.

Have the Pakistani Tally Bans ever spelled out their platform? Now that we will have a new President in Washington, the best inauguration present that President Zardari can send is Osama in a cage for Obama to guage.

More Beena abar beje uthechhe....ta-o abar be-soore....

These people are guided by laws created by 7th century arab beduine. Why should international law, human rights law etc. (modern laws of civilisation) be applicable to these creatures? if your country adopts 7th century beduine view (Shariat), people will also discard 21st century rules....

Instead, US airstrikes in the area since August have further alienated the local people.

Yes..it's funny how killing terrorists alienates terrorists...

US strikes in Pakistan -- and Syria, where seven civilians were killed during an Oct. 26 attack by US special forces -- also blatantly flout international law, say analysts.

and pakiland's use of the taliban in afghanistan and the use of jihadis in kashmir is in line with international law...?

commented Marcia Mitchell in the web publication Truthout

truthout is a 9/11 conspiracy site...

where unmanned and armed US spy planes have been striking with alarming regularity over the past few months, killing and maiming dozens and forcing thousands of villagers to flee their homes.

Beena..you're being blatantly dishonest here....you MUST know that the thousands that are fleeing are doing so because of the PAF and PA bombing, not the predators....

For the already oppressed American male, there can be nothing WORSE than a FEMINIST President like Barack Obama.
