....i think you may be, totally, misunderstanding and misanalyzing this wave.....people don't join it......it causes so many hassles for them that they just get out of the way.....at the very least, there lives become unlivable...

......whenever i read south asian history, i would be amazed at how, again and again, wave after wave of illiterate pathans and central asian could go all the way to mysore and calcutta......not to mention, simply march over the more sophisticated punjabis.....

Most of the jihadi masterminds and executioners are not from poor or deprived section of society. Neither the shelter providers...The london bomber got the opportunity to study MBBS in India (very priviliged people get such opportunity)....

If you take economic angle, cotton growers in Vidarbha would have been the first one to bomb Stock Exchange and all the landmarks of economic might in Mumbai......
While Govt. is reducing their subsidy and providing land almost free of cost for SEZs....

The explosives, greneds, AK-47 is not very commonly available in India. The arms used is definitely sourced from somewhere else...

This is not the first time India has been bombed by a nexus of transnational and local militant groups. The first one was in 1993. And we have had a whole series of them.

The question is will the "wave" as you put it overwhelm India or cause merely some setbacks. I believe it will be the latter. In fact, I would rather stick out my neck and say that the wave will not overwhelm Pakistan (let alone India) if only you PUNJOOs have the good sense not to join with the Talibs and if the GOP does not mess up big time.

every indian movie i see has muslim names for all the terrorists......there was one i recently saw, which had a common man killng them, with bombs.....apparently encouraging this....

the colleagues i meet who are indian muslims, seem, totally, on the defensive, after such bombings.....while those who are hindu on this site, are totally on the offensive.....

the worst thing for india would be if it is a multi-ethnic stateless group, with outside links....kind of like how saudi citizens carry out bombings in pakistan......

Education will be major part of it. I am not saying that there are no prejudices against Muslims when it comes to employment or business, but lack of education is a big part of the reason, more than prejudice.

Interestingly had India followed East Asia like mfg led growth right from start, Muslims wud have gained in a big way.

there seems to be a full-fledged attempt, to somehow or the other, attach pakistan to this......any kind of tiny little hint is being looked for......

even though the terrorist, themselves, call themselves deccan......the interview that one of them has given clearly states their demands, vis-a-vis indian muslims.....the language used by the terrorist is hindi and not urdu (priwar etc.).......the accent is indian.....julm and not zulm......

the history of such violence, including samjotha express bombings etc. have shown that it is an internal indian conflict......

yet the media and the political leadership has already stated that it is from outside the borders of india......

this could be done if they had massive intelligence regarding this......but if they had that, they would have stopped it from occuring......

everything is pointing towards an internal hindu/muslim problem......yet there is a denial that it is such.....

if pakistan wanted to take on the us govt., a much easier way would be to shoot down a drone....it would have the moral high ground, no citizen would be killed and a message would be sent.....yet it is afraid to even do that.......what would it gain from killing americans in another country.....

....it need not overwhelm it.....it just needs to create disruption.....which it has already done at a massive scale......

islamabad is, hands down, the most organized and livable city i have seen in south asia....way ahead of places like bangalore in cleanliness and infrastructure, etc......

it used to be very peaceful.....it has had 16 bombings (many of them suicide) since gwot started......prior to that, i don't think it had even one......

this has done the trick and it has been overwhelmed.....if there were 16 bombings, including a few suicide ones, they will overwhelm any place (be it mumbai or bangalore or karachi)......

....india is experiencing huge econmic growth.....much like what pakistan experienced in 60s.......right then, is where pakistan split.....becasue growth was in one group only......

the main points, with reference to terrorism, that india has to concentrate on, is 3 (justice), and equitable economic growth......

i don't know if this is possible.....how will india uplift a complete muslim community, without it being even more disenfranchised, as the hindu community gets wealthier.......will india be able to bring powerful individuals like modi, advani to justice.....does it even make political sense to attempt bringing them to justice, as they are hugely popular and important leaders.....

If India can cut off the conditions that supply ready recruits to terrorists- whether of the green, red or saffron variety, much of the battle will be won. Sure, there wud still be hot heads who will create a bomb blast or two but wont be able to destabilise the system. And your bravehearts will be stopped at Wagah.

Btw, I dont think the AQ-Talib nexus will overwhelm Pakistan either (let alone reach Panipat) UNLESS the plains Pakis join in. If what I have seen on chowk is any evidence, Sindhis and Mojos wont, dunno about Punjoos- yu wud be better judge.

i have not suggested anything in this case......i think the indian govt. should catch them, interrogate them, and get to the bottom of this......though judging by tactics, they may all kill themselves........i don't think they have asked for any kind of negotiations, themselves.....

...as for radical islamic insurgencies are on a huge rise.....as are radical christian ones, radical hindu ones, radical jewish ones......tiny little ones may have been eliminated.....but there are much bigger ones now.....

as for the attack in mumbia....if it is a local hindu-muslim thing, then it is no different from what has been happening in india for a while......something internal to india, which india will have to deal with, as it sees fit....i think it will have to go after the radical hindus and radical muslims within its society.....if it goes after one and not the other, i doubt it will be solved....it will just increase....

the best views i have heard on this, were from javed jabbar and mahesh bhatt, in a brief interview......they, in a politically correct manner suggested quick justice.......i think what they meant was that convict everyone - these terrorists and modi etc......

anyways that is india's internal matter.......

if it is, something beyond that.....which it maybe.....then it could be what i have been suggesting......that the violence that has been pushed into pakistan, from afghanistan, due to gwot......may now be entering india.......

my suggestino has been that it will not stop at wagah.......while others think it will........

Paki establishment is in cahoot with the terrorist organisations...in kashmir, india have handed over list of terrorist training camps with exact locations (thanks to israeli camera fitted on indian setelites and captured kashmiri moslems, who had undergone islamic training in Pakistani kashmir)...pak govt. deny it outrightly....bluffing is there in Paki gene (the gene mutated after long adoptation of islam...Mo was master bluffer)....

india, due it's international commitment do not violate boundary, unless it is declared as official war.....even during 1998 conflict, Mig-29s (fitted with Elta AESA radars) chased Paki F-16s but after, they crossed the boundary. Mig-29s had to retract....
