There three problems with hese kind of sympathizing write ups put up her by Pakistanis.. that really bugs Indians.
1. Instead of focusing only on one specific event and condemning it, Muslim would invariably end story with "Godra, Babari, Karkare ....". This gives an impression that the ulterior motive is to end message with tit-for-tat justification. If authors stop at condemning the specific action only, then reaction would be positive and inclusive.
If we have to back-track tit-for-tat theory then we will need to go back to 700 years of muslim power and best of all opportunist partition...
2. Secondly these write up are only talks. There have been no mass on-street spontaneous protests in Pakistan about these attacks. What does it communicates. Silence is considered affirmation, justifiedly so.
2. If all Pakistanis are not Jihadis then why geo TV is stopped from interviewing villagers. Why hide if there is no dirt. There has to be some reason for this protection. Even Dawn newsper carried article asking this question.
3. Lastly I believe you are writing this because your grandson would have been victim. You are not writing this for any sympathy for other innocent lives. Publish your snap of your protesting on Karachi streets with 1000 others.
Opportunist Muslims divided this mother land that many Hindus also fought for thinking, its for “all-of-us.
My grandfather use to say, Muslim got freedom cheap. Many stupid hindus gave their lives for freedom thinking it was for one single nation. And once its was almost ready, Muslim showed their true color. Grandfather lived that period to know how freedom movement over night turned into Hindu Dominance issue.
Now does this connection of partition with Mumbai attack hurt? It was delebrate attempt to demonstrate a point.
That’s what happens when Muslims instead of just sticking to condemning a specific act, end the story with “Hindu terrorist also should be …..
Some interesting article... not directly related. did not wanted post separate post but do no response. Orginal track would be lost otherwise...

arjun (re #428),
I agree that Bush is not malicious … only stupid, lazy, and careless when it comes to bungling up the execution part of the Iraq war. But this is only half the picture. The decision to go to war also should be reviewed in order to complete this picture.
BTW, I do think red-flags were raised by the US intelligence about possible widespread civil unrest in Iraq, but Bush was too arrogant to pay any attention.
Shia and sunni groups are ideological animals. Incidentally they were kept in check by Saddam, but the US invasion let this genie out of the bottle. The US soldiers are making the best of a lousy situation they are handed down and are the victims of this war just as much as the countless Iraqis caught in a civil strife.
+++
This tragic situation was mostly avoidable. But Bush and Co. were too busy manufacturing intelligence and oiling the propaganda machinery. Most world leaders came out against the invasion, but Collin Powel, with all his reputation and integrity, was used to hush them down. Evidence was cooked up, fear-mongering was carried out, public opinion was grossly manipulated, naysayers were singled out and punished, justices were sacked on ideological grounds, balance of power between govt. branches was tampered with in a calculated manner, torture was allowed and even encouraged, prison abuse was conveniently ignored under the cover of plausible deniability. And this is the half that completes the picture.
Should the Iraq fiasco, the strategic decision to go to war more than the tactical mistakes, be seen as an honest error attributable to mere stupidity and laziness of Bush? Or was there, at a deeper level, some deliberate and intentional desire to monger fear and wage this war? Perhaps to settle daddy Bush’s score (Freudians would have a field day with this); or perhaps to accomplish the divine mission of bringing Jesus, his personal savior, to the misguided masses …
… perhaps there is indeed a bit of a fascist in Bush. Perhaps he started out being merely stupid and lazy, but somewhere along the way, got transformed into somewhat of a fascist … whereby while not actively pursuing them, he allowed fascist policies to take hold and deliberately looked the other way. I find this scenario quite compelling. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if behind closed doors he even advocated shockingly over-reaching policies that he would not admit to in public for fear of public backlash.
Granted, Hitler was much more sick and mentally diseased than Bush … but considering their policies and the scale of havoc they brought about, there is validity in drawing parallels between the two. Hitler showed us the result of extreme fascism; Bush reminds us how politics of fear and incremental policy changes can send a nation down that path.

tahmed,
You should start by reading your own article in support of the war. Then take a deep breath, go for a walk, and ponder.
You recently insisted that … (get this) … even though no WMDs are found and the USA invaded the wrong country … content of your article remains valid!
Huh? Sahib, are you serious??
Fact is that you are stubborn as a mule, stuck in denial … and no smart-ass talk can cover this up. Conversely, it only shows how hollow, shallow, and irrelevant your article really was. If that is the case, you should write another article … “Scientific Research Suggesting Earth May Be Flat.

You'd have to go to the moon to find a bagful of rocks dumber than tahmed...
coming back to bush...
Bush is guilty of incompetence, not malice...The US armed forces were trying, to the best of their abilities, to stop the violence between shias and sunnis..the violence that is responsible for 99.99% of post war Iraqi deaths...it would be a different thing if he had caused the civil war by arming one side or some such thing...
the neocon dopeheads went to war in iraq because they genuinely believed the was was easily doable and the iraqis would welcome them as liberators...they saw kuwait as a model..a pro-american government that would be on the side of the US..
Wiretapping is a widely misunderstood issue. Before 9/11, if KSM called a known terrorist in the US, the NSA would have to hang up because said known terrorist is considered a US person..i.e. a person in the jurisdiction of the US, not necessarily a citizen...The NSA can't listen in on all calls between all americans...there's just too much traffic..i'm sure you've read about the operators listening on the pillow talk between americans posted overseas and their wives in the US..that's a case of operators abusing the system..not the norm..
democracy in iraq was a boneheaded idea...maybe they'll turn out to be jeffersonian democrats some day...but you can only drag the iraqi camel to the fountain of liberty..you can't make it drink(of course, you can water board the camel in the fountain of liberty..:D..)

We are not looking for any 'support' (much as you might like to think). Your inane ideas somehow inspire (or provoke) similar responses.

(re #421) pew,
… yes, tahmed and his ardent lectures on quran are another nuisance … one just doesn’t know when he’ll start rambling on why he is a Muslim. He should be banned from chowk unless he goes back to being a hindu or the stock market recovers … whichever comes last …
… and let’s face it … wikipedia is a curse on civilization. It is a weapon for cultural savages and makes idiots think of themselves as scholars. I warned tahmed against this kind of stuff long ago but he didn’t listen. And now we all have to put up with him … and that’s the travesty of our times …

hamidm,
It is one thing to fall for the war propaganda in the heat of the moment. But fools like tahmed go on to cleverly change positions, ignore blatant contradictions, blame others, minimize their own role … and then question moral standards of others!! Go figure. This is a load of hypocrisy that begs for intellectual honesty…
…or perhaps he is really, really dumb. Judging from his posts, this is a real possibility. In real life he is probably no smarter than urstruly or kaal. And that is a scary thought …

When you come to admitting that Taxes are also "fixed", you may have to join Mian Masadi ji. Just think about it.

Sahib:
Chacha Tahmed is so desperate that he will clutch at any hope, any straw that might redeem his personal position. He has no enduring, inner core belief (except for the Koran, but of late he has been lecturing less and less on that too). He vacillates from day to day. Here today, there tomorrow.
