There might be more to follow. While we were discussing the scam, one of my collegue said that, 5/6 companies create a chain. Each of them contribute business amountung several millions US$s to others and everybody claims profit.....

After successful mission of Chandrayaan and all these BS, more Indians talent will divert towards pure sciences, which is almost starving for last 10 years.....

The root of the problem lies in Govt.. For the sake of growth, govt. allocated land to these companies almost free of cost. They do not even pay corporate tax. Why these companies ( rag to riches overnight) will not forge account book and show higher profit?

Why the scam is exposed now?
Due the IT slowdown etc. the land Raju purchased as asset, is now liability. So, this fellow has no other option, but to surrender. I realy feel for the employees of Satyam....PWC should share some of the responsibilities and CID should investigate them as well....

It is unfair to demand that entrepreneurs be squeaky clean while not providing them an environment to enable transparency. If you are a businessman in infrastructure and realestate markets in India, and especially in A.P, you can not avoid dealing in blackmoney and you can not avoid paying bribes to the CM. And how would they account for the blackmoney or bribes in the accounts? The accounts of all companies in these sectors are fudged. The real culprits are the politicians who are enriching themselves. We have to cleanup the political system first to make it hard for them to make money off their power and then the realestate markey where all the illegally earned money is parked. Without these reforms it is just hard on the entrepreneurs to function with transparency.

Swiss are smart group. Their secrecy laws makes then possible to make killing. I have heard all 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th rate leaders leaders of world have huge stuff there. They do not get interest but reverse they have to give maney to swiss banks for servicing. It is rumored BB and Z have 2 billions in sona and chandi and diamonds. Mrs Gandhi and her children have all jawahars of Nizam on their name in swiss bank. They can not go physically and gold in hand that money in hand and kiss. But swiss banks allow them to look at all stuff on live video ( at price), when they feel depressed they look at that viedo and then they go happy way. Many times when probvlems occur swiss banks loot money as this wealthy people can not even say or they blackmail. That is reason bb and z were in problem there as they wanted to loot their money. Swiss bank tasted dust when musharraf was forced to white wash all stuff by NRO. Swiss have one of highest income in world as they are bankers of blood money of all looted wealth world wide.

Congratulation, writer of this trash piece shows that you (indians) too have a fair share of xenophobes which makes our (Pakistani) lives so much better.

Classic knee jerk reaction calling for increased protectionism reeked with ignorance and factual errors.

Raju is like any conman who used all possible weaknesses in the system, people to enrich himself and his family. It's true that the high-profile men from business education institutions couldn't see through Raju. Moreover the biggest mistake was that of PWC auditors. I still can't believe how they certified all the accounts of Satyam all these years.

If Harshad Mehta conned the booming stock market then, it's the now Raju who conned the booming IT industry. Life sentence is best for Raju.

Banish the thought that the fastest growing industry in India today is IT/BPO. That numero uno position belongs to the sky-rocketting divorce industry - already said to be worth some 10000 crores ( unaccounted ). Most of the brunt of this 'growing' industry - from lawyer cuts, to police blackmail, 'alimony', and lost livelihoods - is borne by middle class, young, MALES.

Here is the hard reality - while the accounting scam at Satyam has got notoriety, NO attention is given to the male rights scam at the heart of employment policy in the highly paying BPO/IT industry. Upto 80% new recruits ( unofficially ), here are WOMEN! While men continue to be employed in the highly risky 'traditionally male' jobs in the armed forces, that do not adequately compensate the risks.

Again, Men are routinely STEREOTYPED in T.V. Advertisements - from soaps, to car insurance, to chips, which all portray the male as the stupid ape, and the female as the one who provides a solution to his stupidity by using the product being advertised. This creates gender roles where women are the smart, cool, sophisticated and innocent gender, and men are the complacent, retarded, pathetic gender.

Still, most males in our country sadly, either refuse to TALK about their domestic troubles, or live in denial. They are discouraged from doing speaking up, though it is known that suicide rates among them is very high.

AWARENESS of the anti-male laws and judicial system in India is despicably low since it gets very little print space. This 'silent' scam needs the attention of the media just as much as the accounting scam, in this regime of corruption.

Pakistan is going strong. Little problems appear but thatleads to character building. This is consolidation time going for democratic set up. One step backward and two step forward. Things are fine means not fine but but under seasoned leadership of mr. Z steam is gathering steam for next quantom jump. Hope atafbhai's ideas will be honored about province freedom except defence, railway, foreign relations and issueing currency notes. Altaf's ideas can solve most problems. But Altaf bhai has no majority. And democracy is crazy and 50% elected people are mad and corroupt. But things are looking fine.Good day.
