"Don’t show them the way of the gun."

Nonsense, they love guns , they love Islami jehad, they make guns at homes, they sell it and earn a livelihood out of guns and jehad...........

i said i\'d never compromise with the mystery tramp but now i realize, he ain\'t selling any alibis, as i look into the vacuum of his eyes and say \'do you want to make a deal?\'

Appreciate youur comments Phoenix...I see u got the Dylan lyrics going. Every writer of political prose should listen to 'Masters of War' and "It's alrite Ma". The man fires away at will...using words as his weapon.

Re: # 5
Dylan is a genius! one of my favorite musicians. i still have 'it's alright ma' and 'blowing in the wind' memorized. 'masters of war' is probably one of my top tens, oh and 'changing of the guards', i could go on forever! while we're on the subject, two things, one have you seen 'i'm not there'? a master piece of a movie! i absolutely loved it! and two, the soundtrack of 'watchmen', which happens to be one of my favorite comic books, has 'desolation row' - one of my favorite tracks, on it covered by 'my chemical romance' one of my favorite bands this side of the millinium! so there was a sensory overload! i had a tiny little heart attack when i first found out about this cover

Re: # 7
I loved "I'm not there"...such great film noir. Loved how Cate blanchett played the troubled electric dylan. A real treat...My fav. Dylan album would have to be 'Blood on the tracks'...he'd just broken up and wow...it worked.

Ok I will check out the cover of Desolation Row...My Chemical Romance...thats an awesome name for a band. Sounds like a E popping bunch of dudes. Could use a fresh sound. Been OD'ing on the 60's for too long.

Have u seen "Masked and Anonymous'?...a movie starring Dylan and a bunch of gr8 actors. The movie never goes anywhere (thanks to his slurs and cryptic talk)...but the soundtrack rocks.

you sir, are my new best friend! my favorite lines from the movie were when dylan and ginsberg are standing by a statue of the crucifix and dylan goes 'do some of your old stuff!' and when the reporter asks him for 'a word for his fans' and he says 'astronaut', awwww bobbie we love you!

bte gonna get geeky here for a minute, is dark star supposed to a reference to death star from star wars? haven't seen masked and anonymous but i'll get on it...

yeah MCR is pretty awesome. so what kind of music do you like? pink floyd is my favorite band, along with all the zeppelins, hendrixes, the whos, the doors, the beatles, the stones and the dylans of the world.

Re: # 9
My fav. scene would have to be Heath Ledger and the chick running through the Greenwich streets.."I want you" playing in the background.

Dark star is a Grateful Dead song. Wow you're heavily into classic rock. Same here...Allman brothers, Deep Purple, The Who, Lou Reed, the Stones, Black Crowes, and jazz icons such as Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Miles etc. Floyd of course. I saw Roger Waters Live in 2002. Made my year.

oh i like the grateful dead, haven't heard a whole lot of them but i like the stuff i've heard, they've got that cool, hippie vibe about them that i've got a strange affinity to... grateful dead, moody blues, jethro tull, tom petty and the heart breakers, lynrd skynrd and grand funk railroad. they all fall into that category.

btw if you like dylan, the beatles and tom petty you should listen to the traveling wilbury's album, it's a group comprising of pure musical genius! it's got bob, george (my favorite beatle), tom, jeff lynne and roy orbison... i love their stuff.

Re: # 11
ha ha i'm quite useless at poetry, free form or otherwise, i can appreciate good lyrics though. btw i heard one song by nina simone and i was totally off her, her cover of 'house of the rising run'. i love all other covers i've heard of it, the animals', rolling stones', led zeppelin's, the doors', the muse's....maybe i'm just not evolved enough to appreciate jazz yet :)

i hate you for attending a roger waters concert before i ever got to!

Yeah man...I like the travelling wilburys...specially "Handle with care"...it was a dream line-up. I also like Roy Orbison a lot.

Grateful Dead was amazing...even Moody Blues had their moments...dont worry u'll come around to jazz..and when u do...itll be a revelation.

Dont worry...Roger waters keeps comin to dubai...theres hope yet young skywalkers:)

'House of the rising sun' by the Animals has to be my fav. cover version. Eric Burdon started this band "War"...u have to listen to their "World is a ghetto" album.
