“Be the change that you want to see in others.
Therefore I would rather prefer to refrain to respond to pretentious comments of nkg, jayp and beings of such attitude. I don’t want to indulge inanely, impetuously in these cheap slings of arguments without intellect crafted only to abuse people of different values, beliefs, nationality etc.
It is surprising and much sad to witness the gradual decline of secularism, tolerance and steady increase of hostility and bigotry among many (not all) Indians these days. Their vanity has grown so out of proportion that it has ripped off all humility, humanity and sanity from them. That leaves them to ‘Zero tolerance’ whenever it comes to Pakistan or Muslims mainly and any 'not so pleasant' criticism towards their own homeland or religion.
The comments posted at this article which was all with positive intent, nothing hateful against India did actually somehow managed to offend some ‘civilized, educated Indians’ friends at this site. I wonder when the interaction with Muslims is so toxic at this virtual 'chowk' , how could they communicate with Muslims they bump into real life????????? And they can’t avoid us totally as we are everywhere.
The shallow critiques against the movie… ‘Slum dog millionaire’ is another great exhibit of narcissist behavior of Indians. They just missed the positive side of India shown in that movie which for me is that.... “With all the prevailing dark injustices and imbalances in the social system, India is such a wonderful ‘land of opportunities’ where a child from slums can reach to the top. Any one can make money… by hook or by crook. It’s the matter of choices. Jamal made the right choices and earned the millionaire position the hard way while his brother failed.
This is the way I perceive the movie and obviously slums are not peculiar to India. It occurs in all big cosmopolitan cities London, Karachi etc…even Dubai.
It was the story of less privileged and unjust society and victims of such system could relate to it easily all over the world like classic movie ‘Les miserable’ reflected dark periods of France.
But sadly the ‘proud Indians’ even the much lovable ‘Big- B’ also failed to appreciate the brighter side of India portrayed in the movie. I wonder is it out of ‘Grandiose complex’, ‘ignorance’ or simply that they are used to cheesy Karan Jauhar kind of movies which are also nothing without Shahrukh Khan…by chance who is also a Muslim.
Come on neighbors, Grow up!!!!!!

Re: # 24 nkg...Keep on saying what you wish to say...I just wanted to point out to you that too much hate and bigotry against someone you can not do anything about is plain useless...instead of simmering in impotant rage and hatred and bottling it all up and suffering the ugly consequences of haemorrhoids in later life, why don't you channel your pent up energies instead to sort out the problems engulfing your own neighborhood, of the sort highlighted in the recent movie Slumdog Millionaire...thats all.

Re: # 22...nkg says: "Yeh Beduoinoid, that is there in your blood...you can take a movie as absolute truth ( like the 7the century arab gangster's cock and bull story), but civilised world do not.."
Well nkg...you really seem to have a chip on your shoulder regarding your so-called "Beduoins" and "Beduoinised"...but you must say this softly lest they hear it there...for remember millions upon millions of your brethren are serving as servants in those lands there making a more than a decent living for themselves and their kith and kin living back in your own neighborhood...where they would otherwise be living as those characters in Slumdog Millionaires (or like yourself)...instead of being so full of hate and bigotry...you must channel your energies towards alleviating the plight of your near and dear ones...miseries of your own people are clearly abounding and you must start from your own neighborhood first before indulging in all this vitriole and hatred for others.

Nikhat...
So, what you want?
India should reserve PM, President etc. etc. post for muslas and keep the indians away from all political process like what happens in other beduinoid infested countries (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt etc...)...
No general election, no parliamentary ethics etc. etc...
....and that will create a bigger Ummah spreading from malayasia to turkey (any how jihadis in Thailand and Mynmar are already very active...once India is covered with beduinoids, the rest will be easy task...)

Militants release videotape of engineer’s beheading
By Alamgir Bhittani and Abdul Sami Paracha
TANK/KOHAT, Feb 8: Taliban militants on Sunday released a videotape showing the beheading of Polish geologist Poitr Stancza and warned other kidnapped foreigners would meet the same fate if their demands were not met.
Before he was killed, the seven-minute video shows the blindfolded geologist making an appeal to the Polish government not send troops to Afghanistan. He asked the Polish government to sever diplomatic relations with Pakistan if it did not try to seek his release.
////////////
Nikhat, add the video clip to teh gallery. Find out which book recommends beheading for kafirs and you will know why terrorism is so prevalent in pakistan and why such videos are coming from pakistan.
Next time during eid go to lslamabad to see the entertainment, killing of camels in teh streets complete with galleries for the children to watch. Then you will know why the pakis relish the latest video.

Nikhat,
You take the biscuit for having the most pathetic post. In paki land where people are being beheaded and put on display with the cunnivance of isi, all that you could point out is some un-substantiated alegations.
The tragedy is that you paki compare the practices of teh jihadis as something comparable to some human rights violations in india. the simple fact that the jihadis are fully organised groups, following an indeology and supported by large sections of paki society is ignored. the jihadis are not ordinary criminals, they are fully organised and supported groups. there is no way that a bunch of criminals can take over swat. they are sup[ported by the paki establishment and most of paki people.
Nikhat, have some sense of proportion, do not ever compare pakiland with india, never use the two nouns in teh same sentence.
pathetic you are.

Watching 'Slumdog Millioner' will settle many things - for our Indian freinds. There is nothing more 'nanga' than the 'nanga naach' of this film.
I would not have said this, if the word was not unashamedly and irrelevantly used in post # 13.

Why do people believe so much in scriptures/theories/ideologies propounded so long ago? Hasn't the world changed enough in the last 1000/2000 years? Hasn't modern science showed that most of the stuff in those books is just plain non-sense? Agreed that maybe there's some wisdom here and there, but if you take some 10-15 self-help books published in the last year, I'm sure they too contain at least that much amount of 'wisdom'.
At the very least the religions should encourage people to move forward. The books should be conducive to re-interpretation so that some thing that is applicable/useful to current times can be extracted from them. Any ideology that expects people to lead their daily lives according to rules laid down thousands of years ago can deliver nothing but confusion, pain and suffering to its adherents. Confused people with powerful weapons can then deliver pain to rest of the humanity.

This is an interesting piece of work. There are a lot of metaphorical references to contemporary events (including (perhaps) to stuff happening on this website). It is a bit too long (for my taste) and it is rather off-the-mark on many technical details. However, it is merely one person's well-meant and simplistic take on rather complex issues and needs to be treated as such.

I think you missed this.
"The widespread use of torture occurs despite commendable judicial decisions, such as the famous Basu vs. the State of West Bengal, which laid down detailed rules on arrest, detention and the like, which, if applied, would lead toward the elimination of torture."
The Government is doing everything possible to prevent such occurings. Compare this with your country using government bulldozers to raze the hindu temples and christian churches.
The non muslim population in Pakistan has reduced from 15% to less than 5%. Where did it go?
Did you see what is written about your country on the same page pointed out by you? Do you have any moral right to point your fingers at others? You are still proud of your country which is worse than the prehistoric stoneage period.

Nikhat,
You hide behind your unholy scripture to deny any high post to a non-musla in your country. When it come to India, you would settle for nothing less than a prime minister's post.
What a hypocrate!!
There is a saying in our country "nange se khuda darta hai"
You have proved it.
