Re: # 25
Thank you Nusheh.

Re: #26
I agree with your advice. i guess the biggest failing in love is to expect reciprocation. It takes time to understand that love is a strength training for the soul and not a mere means of seeking pleasure. When you love someone you meet a new dimension within your own soul and realize that there are depths to your inner self that have never been stirred.
Thank you for reading and sharing.
Regards,
A

It is okay to like and even to love without reciprocation. Just make sure you stay true to yourself.
And once you've come to terms...move on.

Re: # 23
i agree 100%. one should find someone who shares your values and vision. But also someone who makes you feel "blessed". Until i find my "soulmate" i will continue to think and feel in a utopian manner. Its a blessing and a curse.

Relationships grow on you, don't they? A good friend of mine said something profound on this subject: the quest should be to find someone who shares your values and vision, not just someone who fills your weaknesses and gaps and acts like a crutch. Then again, there is something to be said for following one's heart.

Re: # 21

I stand corrected. It is chaddis, if you are a northie.

And please stop calling others names unnecessarily, as it may well come back right in your own face. Why should any argument against feminism automatically becomme misogyny?

WAKE UP MALES! SPEAK UP!

I have to correct you, it's chaddis, not jaddis, and they're not being kept, they're being sent to the Shri Ram Sene.
As a misogynist communist, please offer your views on the incidents in Mangalore.

keep on pubbing;
even keep sleeping!

BUT

Just say NO to marriage!

Sunil,

It would be much better if you tried to decipher the statistics ( which I quoted only because YOU asked for it ), instead of trying to play psychologist here ( which I am sure, you are no good at )

Re: # 14 parthaab, your call for all males not to marry presupposes that all females are very eager to marry, and they are dumb chicks not capable of taking care of themselves. So unless you are another rajneesh in the making you are just fooling yourself.

Despite all the feminist advertising and media propaganda, there ARE statistics that can speak their mind!

Re: # 12

Sunil,

I do not think it is possible to scare away EVERYONE from marriage - particularly not those determined to marry in ANY case - like you! LOL

And no prizes for guessing if you have even made the SLIGHTEST effort to find the real situation and truth about male attitudes to marriages CHANGING in the USA.

Dream on, friend. And keep living in the goody goody world of yours.

And sorry to rudely wake you up!

Re: # 10

Sunil,

It may come as a surprise to you, and many more, but MOST males in the USA in 2008, particularly in a few states, are scared of marriage. You can search for stats, IF you want to find out.

WAKE UP, MALES! SPEAK UP!

Dear Amber,
A great piece in the traditions of “Heer-Ranjha.

One of the qualities of a good writer is to make the reader identify with what has been written.

I am sure all of those who have read and thought about this lovely piece will feel that there is some such ideal love which was never realized, somewhere in their past.

Keep writing and following your calling as a person and a poet, a doctor and a human.

But beware..if you keep writing so beautifully..We will all fall in love with you…

Prashant

Re: # 2

Dear Sunil,
I often remember the line from "Heer Ranjha" keh Ranjha Ranjha kardey khud Ranjha hoi".....i guess love is all about thinking incessantly about someone or something and our Universe revolving around that pivotal point. Its not at all practical. So cannot survive doing that in business or politics. I guess the thinking process when shared sounds more premeditated and callous when actually its an innocent confusion where we are trying to find sane and rational reasons for a simple whim of our hearts. More often than i'd like to admit, my heart chooses the wrong people, and the head part cannot justify this sheer stupidity! people don't write about these things and i like to venture in these dark waters and discover the true colors of feelings. That is my calling as a person and poet.

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the time you take to help me think and write better.

Re: # 1
Tolkin... kash chor saktey! mager na rakkha jaata hai aur na chora jaata hai. Saari mushkil yehi hai! Koi asaan hal ho to batain. I always say, "The heart is a poor companion of the mind" and unfortunately i'm half and half. My poet side is heart first and doctor one is head first. trust me its a crazy combination! One of the first questions i'll ask God will be, "What were you thinking?"
hehe
Thanks for reading!
