1. The correct answer was: Some Islamic parties did contest (mullah fazloo, who was the only one from his party to get a seat, being a case in point. And they were routed. And this is consistent with history - unlike communalism-obsessed hindus who have made BJP a major party in India, Pakistanis have historically given humiliating defeats to religious parties in elections. Preferring to vote for mainstream parties that promise practical things like roti, kapra, makan.

2. The sharia laws were introduced by a dictator, not legislated. And I suggest you think a bit about what "sharia" means - it simply means the laws of the state. The entire issue begs the question I had indicated - through what process are laws formulated?? "Sharia" promoters assume that the process will be an undemocratic one (i.e. mullahs becoming lawgivers). Per the election results above - it is clear that Pakistanis are not about to give mullahs this power over society. Which is the point I made earlier, but which you ignored in your desire to see Pakistanis suffer (as Swatis have done) under the reign of terror of the taliban animals.

for once in my life i agree with tahmed, not only does urchin's post show the 'diseased mind of the poster who is trying to get attention', it also shows the mindset of the nation he belongs to ........ after many years on chowk i am convinced that all horrible hindoos suffer from paki fixation - they just can't get over ghauri, ghazni, jinnah, partition and all that other stuff .... why? .... i don't know, you are the shrink ..... it might have something to do with penis envy ..

Leave aside madrassa. Entire education system is plagiarized and corrupted. If a school in Pakistan makes students believe that hindus sided with brits in muslim's fight against them to regain India (or Pakistan) and that India was separated from Pakistan in 1947 and that Pakistan which was created by zinno...jinno...jinnah has got the cultural history of 8000 years, your not being the product of madrassa should not be any better deal.

You must be crazy to put that question. Right from a needle and paper-clip, to Aircrafts and space launching vehicles, everything is manufactured in India. Our cars are exported and much in demand. Foreign market is crazy about Indian textiles. Did you forget softwares?

Tahir mian, there is nothing wrong in being a devout muslim. Only thing that goes awry is that you want to treat a non-believer as the one who deserves only ugly treatment. This thinking of yours is giving handle to the religious extremists in our part of the world. Just as people in swat initially believed that taliban was there to give them good governance, hindus here think that these religious hooligans would help settle score. Consequence is for everyone to see.
