Qibla,
"remember: small minds talk personalities. great minds talk issues. :-)"
Don't just pick out your favourite words...let me complete it... "And greatest minds discuss ideas n their implications." And that's what I do. :D
"double standards" refers to different standards for different individuals."
NO. Double standards refer to a few more things as well, i-e issues, conflicts, ideas and personalities.

tahmed,
.... i have supporting evidence of almost a billion people from morocco to indonesia to support my claim that democracy does not suit the mizaj of moslems .... the burden is on you to show me that democracy can work in a moslem state ..... and please don't say turkey because the army is still the real power behind the facade of democracy ..... why should pakistan be any different?

majju uncle,
Chief Saab will put an end to the US-backed military operation, a high-profile lawyers leader told me lately on condition of anonimity.
This operation is against the Constitution of Pakistan, he said.

#25 bsm: "double standards" refers to different standards for different individuals. they are irrelevant to what i wrote (i.e. issues, not individuals).

appeal to general kiyani....
.... as a holder of a valid nicop (which i got to avoid paying the 120 dollars for a visa), i call upon general kiyani to take over ..... it is not as if he is doing much of anything else - with baitullah in charge of fata and fazlullah incharge of swat, he should turn over the security of karachi to altaph bhai and southern punjab to let or the jaish of his choice ...... this way he can run things in islamabad and the army can focus on its mission to make sure that we can destroy india if 'he' comes (sheikh rashid: agar india aye tau we should destroy him! )

Rabia,
To answer your question, I hope all civilian parties have the good sense not to resort to military intervention to dislodge/protect the current govt. Changes in govt if any should come thru vote on floor of the house, thru court actions or at best street demonstrations, not military action overt or covert. Even the continuance of the currently unpopular Zardari govt for another 4 years wud be in the long run preferable to the scenario that Zee sahib painted on UP- the military bullying AZ/YRG govt out of office. That is of course only my humble opinion.

#21, 22,
wah Qibla wah!
when the bloody crook speaks your language, he's your man. When he doesn't he is not. What dual standards!
C'mon now, Zardari was a crook even then; and now he surely is. A bloody stooge!
Btw, Rabia n Qibla, what do you have to say about BB's long-term policy of Taliban making back in 90s?

#22 rabiawasti: the supporters of the rule of law have their hands full with the clowns out of uniform to start worrying about the clowns in uniform at this time.
#22 Posted by rabiawsti on March 2, 2009 5:05:41 am
tahmed, I am just trying to figure out if the supporters of the march for the rule of law will support military intervention when the time comes
#21 Posted by tahmed32 on March 2, 2009 4:52:22 am
rabiawasti #19: i not for or against individuals. only their actions/policies. zardari was right when he spoke out against taliban. zardari is wrong when he used the corrupt judiciary to disenfranchise those who voted PML to a majority in the panjab assembly. unless and until Pakistanis start showing that such egregious wrongs have consequences (e.g. by putting a noose around the necks of those who seek to disenfranchise them, meaning musharraf, zardari, taliban, and so forth), hamidm will continue to have new rising moons to worship.

#18 majumdar bhai: too bad his rising suns all happen to be mooning crooks.
