KARACHI: As many as 5,000 containers, trailers and vehicles have been impounded by officials in Punjab, mainly for blocking roads leading to Islamabad to thwart lawyers’ long march on March 16, sources said.

The containers and trailers from various towns and cities of the country were destined for Punjab. Most were seized from their owners in the vicinity of Islamabad.

For fear of being seized, the owners of containers and trailers have suspended movement and have parked vehicles at safer places in Mianwali, Muzaffargargh and Multan.

Pakistan Transport Federation chairman Capt (retd) Asif Mahmood told Dawn from Lahore that around 5,000 containers and vehicles, carrying goods for domestic consumption, exports, imports and raw material, have been impounded.

There is no need to hijack vehicles to block roads. All that is needed is a police sentry and a small barricade to indicate to the drivers that the road is blocked.

Using shipping containers to block roads means that pakis are not law abiders, they have to be physically prevented from using the roads. This creates a bad image for pakistan. pAKISTAN IS SUCH A ROLE MODEL FOR THE WORLD.

I have many times and most of them agree except the Uncle Tom Republican blacks.....who are hated by the vast majority of blacks suffering under the system of American Apartheid. ... this led to a frenzy … foreign students eagerly named JFK and MLK, hoping to impress chicks with how well they are assimilated … and the whiteies tossed around names like gandhi and de gaulle (and perhaps a french porn star or two who may have led feminist movements). Not to be outdone the jews named jesus, and a hindu or two may have mentioned jinnah. We pakis remained united in not mentioning nehru … ironically these imbeciles made me proud, if only once in my lifetime. Amidst all this frenzy someone named hitler …

This was followed by an awkward silence … and some intense back-and-forth deliberations about what it means to be a “leader�. Consensus soon emerged that hitler should be on the list … and we moved on to another hour of wasteful sermonizing, this time by a nerdy TA who is afraid of graduating for the fear of having to find a real job …
