RiazHaq (modern ultra-nationalist)

more like your average deluded paki...you know the kind...remember when pakiland rented a floating pile of used junk and called it paksat and mushy told pakis pakiland was ahead of india in space technology now...he's the kind of person who actually believes that...

Fortunately, there is a sane and diverse emerging civil society in pakistan, and so there is a hope that in a generation or two there might be normal relations with india. Obviously the dissolution of pakistan would be disaster for india and reasonable indians have hopes for a positive future (while fearing and preparing for the worst).

Some time will be required to overcome the mental issues of folks like RiazHaq (modern ultra-nationalist) and ahmedmadani (traditional islamist). Notice how nicely they fit together in their comments - almost a summary of paki problems on a single page.

Some of the bright signs are visible in the dailytimes and dawn newspapers - these combine a moderate paki nationalism and self-assurance without the rabid anti-india delusions of RiazHaq. Another bright spot is the recent restoration of the chief justice and activism by laywers.

As we all expound breathlessly about aid to Pakistan, India has received over $100 billion in foreign aid since the early 1950s and continues to receive billions more. But here's a video link for all the chest-thumping Indian bigots infesting Chowk: http://www.mercurynewsphoto.com/2008/leftbehind/

This is the kind of persistent and deep poverty that Indian PM Manmohan Singh acknowledges as "India's shame".

Ironically, there are some parallels between the violent Maoists movement in India and the Taliban militants in Pakistan, in spite of their diametrically opposed ideologies. Maoists say they are fighting for the rights of neglected tribal people and landless farmers, as are the Taliban in FATA and NWFP. Though their tactics vary, both movements have killed dozens of people, including security personnel, in the last few weeks. Both movements control wide swathes of territory in their respective countries. Both continue to challenge the writ of central or provincial authorities.

A recent issue of San Jose Mercury News has a pictorial about grinding poverty in India done by John Boudreau and Dai Sugano. This heartbreaking pictorial illustrates the extent of the problem that India faces, a problem that could potentially be very destabilizing and put the entire society at the risk of widespread chaos and violence.

Suspected US missiles kill 3 in NW Pakistan

By NAHAL TOOSI
The Associated Press
Sunday, April 19, 2009 6:20 AM

ISLAMABAD -- Suspected U.S. missiles struck a Taliban compound in a northwestern Pakistan militant stronghold bordering Afghanistan on Sunday, killing three people, officials said.

The attack came a day after a suicide car bomber killed 27 people _ most of them security forces _ elsewhere in the northwest. A senior Taliban leader claimed responsibility for that attack, and promised more if the U.S. kept up its missile strikes in the region.

Shahab Ali Shah, the top administrative official in the South Waziristan tribal region, said five people also were wounded in Sunday's strike in the Zari Noor village area. The identities of the dead and wounded were not immediately clear.

#63 - Miss/Mr. Jayp, many thanks for your note. I am not sure if drones can be shot down by AC-AC gun. But, I am so glad that Pakistan Armed forces are intelligent enough not to shot'em down. Despite recent provocation by some unknown Indians - who hide behind aliases (for example Musing- the Indian Colonel from Pune and many like you) Pakistanis should understand that drone attacks are aimed at the fascist thugs know as Taliban and Al-Qaeeda. These thugs maybe of different shade than BJP but very simillar in nature.

While we are on this subject, please remember Miss or Mr. Jayp- that organized religion (yes Hinduism included) and much of religious doctrine is used to reinforce the oppression of the masses of people, to preach submission before the established authorities and their oppressive rule: As Lenin said, every reactionary order is in need of two functions, the hangman and the priest, and they go hand in hand and complement each other.

I am sure you know who is your hangman!

Re: # 69 Laddu are you educated? I do not think you have gone to IIT college. Can you prove you are in USA and not sitting in little depressed little village with people drinking from wells along with cattle and releasing your disappointments and frustartions and general depressing indian conditions ? ( Why we here feel you are in India and we feel sorry for you, it is tough there )
Why you not study carefully before writing. Good day.

Riaz Haq,

There are millions of born-muslims who leave Islam every week in droves after watching Jehadi apologists like you.

Contrary to the propaganda of muslims taking to Islamization there is a contrary movement of muslim-borns leaving your cult of hate quitely and without your band baaja!!

Things look very bright.

Re: # 64 Prof. RiazHaq....My humble suggestion do not waste time with fascists or Indian Talibans in argueing. They have already made up their mind. With all statistics given by yourself and earlier by mr. Manto a academic historian that indian election is big farce and we do not want imitation to do that monkey business of farce elections. Still those people feel the "economic ( suffereing) conditions" in India are better than Pakistan. I look at Indian and pakistani men of middle ages and women also. The effect of malneutrition is selfsvident. Takes weights, on average pakistanis are heavier by 20 Kg at minimum. This is due to lack of food on Indian side. You said is right last time smugg;ling is tough to stop. All cheap and neutrious wheat produced in Plains of Punjab and Sindh ends upon food plates of Indians and Pakistani suffers. Withall excess and more food smuggled to India we get shaft and wheat price goes up and we need to import wheat giving real dollars and we get worthless indian rupees. Your arguments are not going to enter in their minds as you can wake up sleeping man but not person who is pretending to be sleeping. Let them enjoy ignorance. India all women and dalits and minorities like muslims, sikhs, jains, parsees, shias and dalits, progressive and secular men and women, tribals and fishermen and poor are oppressed and only dark skinned upper caste hindus and Zamindars 18% are big burden for all indians. This 18% men are oppressing people. They will suffer later when as you said in your writing before. As TTP gains power or they march in power first thing they will when war starts will be welcomed by 88% oppressed indians and Talibs can take over India as wildfire as they will demolish Zamindars as now Feudals of Sindh and Punjab are trembling at distant thunder of talib armies. No point in argueing, as Kashmir and other india problem will be solved other than peaceful means and then there will be no prisoners as talibs will spread in India like fire and welcomed as liberation army against Feudal landownership in India. Patience is virtue and keep calm and composed attitude and when time will come mean and just. This time to be patient and anticipate future things.

Riaz mian, the differences you talk about exist in every society, more so in Pakistan. If the Pakis of Chowk are anything to go by, Pakis are more casteist than Indians can ever aspire to be. For all the talk about everyone in Islam being equal, no one can match Pakis when it comes to abusing fellow Pakis. Sindhis and Pushtuns hate Punjabis with a vengeance, who in turn hate Muhajirs with the same vehemence. All of them in turn hate Ahmadis. Of course, the army hates the Baloch. And as person who comes from a highly feudal society, you have the gall to talk about injustice?

The alumni of the mental institution you come from would be proud of you. I'm sure none of them can be as insane as you.

Re: # 62

It says a lot about an unjust, hypocritical and abusive Indian society that gives a raw deal to its own people and hurts its close neighbors, while at the same time tooting its own horn as being "peaceful, democratic and prosperous". If you still can't get my point, I am sorry to say you have an abnormally thick skull that no one can get through to your tiny little brain trapped inside it.

Malick mian,

Pakistan is a bankrupt country, kept afloat by the yanks. There is no way in the world that pakiland can say anything to the yanks.

Malick, take it from me, a country that cannot stop the drone attacks on its own people..can do nothing about the alms given to the paki begging bowls.

Just think of it, the drones are slow propeller driven aircraft, they can be shot down by any garden variety ac-ac gun, which the paki troops have, but will not dare. That is humiliation for any army except the paki one.

[I guess you have not heard about Mukti Bahini, Tamil Tigers, Kashmir Singh, Baluchistan Liberation Front and other such individuals and outfits terrorizing and destabilizing the neighborhood. It's just your abject ignorance that you find so blissful. And then you try and make up for it by launching ad hominem attacks on people who try and help you overcome your handicap. Ignorant Ingrate!
Riaz Haq, PakAlumni Worldwide ]

madrassaAlumni,

Let me repeat my question. What do "Mukti Bahini, Tamil Tigers, Kashmir Singh, Baluchistan Liberation Front" have to do with Maoists in India, or Casteism in India, or female infanticide in India?

Eh? Eh? Eh?
