juror: Mr. Masadi is not a beggar. He is merely collecting his fee for the expert advice he provides on chowk. Every post he writes is worth its weight in 24 carat gold. Too bad though that the weight of posts on the computer screen is 0 grams.

Zeena:
"...I grew up adoring Michael Jackson. I was always in love with him and his music, I still remember dancing with Billy Jean with my school friends almost every day..."
Did you, or your daughters? Remember in this avatar you are now 65.

Anil and the other thugs, my comments were not about pop music that is popular because peons like you have the brains of rats, it was about what he did with his public persona, he discredited everything "black" about him and tried to transform himself into a brown sahib much like you you miseries, therefore he was a personification of the personification of the colored folk by the white man,

RIP MJ ... you changed the music of this world.
now ... as for those insisting that pakistani pop music has been struggling in decades, the reason is simple, we do have a proper infrastructure and coverage, lahore college of arts and something in karachi !!! that is not enough !!! where in India the infrastructure is far more advanced & in reach of the public.
our guys cannot write music, they do not study to be musicians, it's amazing how they pick up an instrument and start playing it without proper training or writing a single note, cause it's all in thier head. rohail hayaat was my neighbour & when VS was working on thier first album we could not sleep at nights cause they would play over and over to get the tunes right.
the bands we know are just handful of a few we have known due to media coverage but if you look into pakistani underground music & there is so much potential, but they do not get any coverage plus they do not have "cheap" access to recording studios, it costs a fortune to record a track. no body's coming forward with any solution, and we sit and criticize on how it all sucks.
when meekal hassan came on scene it was really good, his approach & his music was fresh but now looking at this guy's attitude & his ego !!! jeeesus !!! it sucks, he owns on of the best studios in pakistan but you need to have deep pockets to have access to that.
there was a time during 90s when "music channel charts" startd and it gave exposure to many bands but when it stoppted, that was the end of it!!!
"battle of the bands" did produce some good bands but got lost somewhere on the way, I am disappointed at EP and Aaroh, they put so much effort into thier music then lost it !!! we sure know how to distroy a telent & COLA sponsorship also kills the talent of a band !!!
now the fresh start, coke studio (another cola injection), to revise ourself cause after long time I am listening to pakistani music again, it's fresh & it sounds good, this needs to keep on going.
we need more people like shoaib mansoor and rohail hayaat as a guide to the bands who have potential, our guys have talent, they have voices but they need someone to guide them in the right direction, but sadly no one comes forward and say "alright I am here ... whoever needs my help can reach out".
where is nizar lalani? where is arshad mahmood?
But hopeful we have ramained and we will continue to do so !!!
