Hmm Pakistanis glorifying Sharia - living in a 21st century with 7 century mediaval codes which are incongruous with modern day life ? In fact its Taliban which is gunning for sharia laws in Pakistan, hence shall we assume that the authour is hand n gloves with Talibs - religious fanatic ?
Well then, start with it! and yes no other place to begin this barbaric, lunatic sharia than right here - Pakistan!

father-son Sikh duo displaced from Swat and staying in an Internally Displaced Persons’ camp
I saw this episode live on TV and they were not at a displaced peoples camp rather they were at Hasan Abdal at their holy shrine, and yes the elder sikh was quite confident about the implementation of Shariah as he insisted and described his positive experience when the Shariah was enforced in earlier times.

"Because the vast majority of Sikh females are very smart, beautiful, and attractive in both mind and body. They also possess qualities of compassion, justice, and optimism."
It really helped me understand IQ101 course. I never understood these LINEAR RELATIONS. Now I got them. These are:

"The point is that indian leadership - Ambedkar, Nehru, Gandhi - were able to take ideas and concepts from western enlightenment thinking and apply them to the indian context. This is the heart of the breakthrough of the indian constitution and the main achievement of Nehru and Ambedkar."
What balderdash are you talking. What is this western enlightenment you talk about racism, nazism, national socialism, socialism or communism/marxism/leninism/ stalinism etc. They were influenced by all of the above and not by the true well meaning westerners maybe Gandhi a bit by Shaw. Take any and I mean any 1 speech or writing of the above gentlemen and show where they have quoted from Volitaire or Rousseau or Gladstone. Ambedkar was totally consumed by hatred of Hinduism that he use to lose his rationality and could not uncritically look at it even though when it came to defending Hindus against Islamist violence he talked always as Hindu e.g. the murder of Swami Shraddhanand or of Pandit Lekh Ram or Pandit Munshi Ram or the Moplah rebellion.
Gandhi talked about his inner voice and most of the people could never understand what he was saying. Some like Shri Aurobindo and Jinnah despised him openly others like Rabindra Nath Tagore voiced their misgivings privately. It is a measure of the man that he did not have any friends in the congress as neither did Nehru. Nehru was a closet commie and enlightenment was the last word 1 could associate with him to enlighten your self further read GENESIS AND GROWTH OF NEHRUISM at http://www.voiceofdharma.com/books/gagon.
As far as the Indian Constitution goes more credit goes to after Dr Ambedkar to KM Munshi and that guy hamdani quotes. And if you will crtically examine the same you will agree it is a pretty pathetic document.
As far as reservations go they were implemented first by Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj of Kohlapur in 1879 admittedly not for SC's but for OBC's. Then by the Gaikwad of Baroda in 1905. This same distinguished royal family also sponsored Dr Ambedkar's educatation in America.
I have to agree with Ahmed32 that "To say that Indian leaders taught morality to the west is to indulge in the usual Indian self-serving nonsense" is true. As regards Gandhian non-violence it is a tribute to the British and not Gandhi. If he had tried his technique qith any other race of Europeans Dutch, French, Germans, Russians, Spaniards and Portugese he would have understood what they were talkin about. Lord Curzon rebuked a British General who said that India is held by the power of British arms no he said India was conquered by British arms it is held by British justice and if you read Churchills critique of General Dyer you will understand what I am talking about.

As a postscript let me add Mr Jinnah's commitment to Liberalism and his respect for the rule of law was much more than either G or N the great Calcutta killings notwithstanding. For an example read General Gul Hasn Khan

The point is that indian leadership - Ambedkar, Nehru, Gandhi - were able to take ideas and concepts from western enlightenment thinking and apply them to the indian context. This is the heart of the breakthrough of the indian constitution and the main achievement of Nehru and Ambedkar. I realize that this will cause such heartburn to the tahmeds that they will start their "sri ram" and "kali ma" based religous abuse.
Of course, dalits are indistinguishable from the rest of the indians. The situation is quite different from western import of slaves - the issue is more to do with lack of access to education and jobs. It also has to do with jati discrimination and cultural/religous assumption that dalits are inferior people.
I have a good friend who is from dalit background - of course, we never had a clue about all this nonsense - but one day his dad said to me - you know, in our village you guys could never have even sat near each other. We burst out laughing - lucky for us we grew up far away from this bakwaas - but for the father this was not a laughing matter.

#106 ML King picked up Gandhi's technique of "non-violent protest" - and that is the extent of India's "contribution". To say that Indian leaders taught morality to the west is to indulge in the usual Indian self-serving nonsense.

Now, see a country with enough experience of islamic barbarism, is still allowing it's people to perform the medieval middle east barbarism/islam, in the garb of secularism...
where else govt. will sponsor terrorist training centre/madressahs ?
where else you will find, in the name of secularism, Govt. is funding for muslas for their sharpening skill in barbarism/Hajj ?
Kedar, we are real strange people...
After bomb blasts in Mumbai trains (2006/2007), one of our collegues from Israel (he was with us in Bangalore and reached the day before the blast) was surprised to see our reaction......means how come a country stay calm on such incident!!!!!!!!!!!

bhairav...
I think, dalits are not the african counterpart in India...
Dalits are geneticaly and anthropologicaly same people like rest of Indian and they were never slaves...Their peoblem was different from the Black salves in Americas...
Time to time, lot of people ( I can remeber SriChaitanya from Nadia and Swami Vivekananda) in India initiated movement to expose these segments of society into some sort of diluted spiritual life....
When British came, economicaly, OBCs were better off than the Brahmins....
Regarding Nehru etc. ; the less is said is better...Like Raol Maino/Rahul Gandhi spends night at dalit hut; Nehru and the coterie wanted to make them as committed vote bank at the cost of some law...Not a single Govt. diverted substancial amount of fund to provide basic amenities to the poor dalits.....

an evil animal/moslem lives inside all of us...So, it should not be surprising to see primitive societies supporting Shariat/Sharia etc...
Couple of years back, a chain snatcher in Bihar was dragged by policemen, tied with a bike....The mob cheered this brutal treatment....
If Sharia would have been that great, it would have prevented Muhammed from commiting sex with a minor and his other crimes....

Hemant Sahib,
If a black Muslim were being lynched by the KKK, extremist right-wing Hindutva types like you would wear your dhotis as hoods just to join in the anti-Muslim ceremony.
I never justified any massacres. On the contrary you are the one calling for the elimination of Muslims, especially minorities. So, when do you plan to implement the Injun Inquisition?
If a black Muslim were being lynched by the KKK, extremist right-wing Hindutva types like you would wear your dhotis as hoods just to join in the anti-Muslim ceremony.
What in my writing leads you to this conclusion.
I never justified any massacres. "As for the armenian genocide, it is almost comical how many Indians like you act like parrots when it comes to western Christian mantra - but then mantra is ingrained in your psyche.
The Armenian massacres need to be discussed for sure. The discussion should be within the context of the early 20th century - WWI, Balkan Wars, the massacres in Abkhazia and Ajaria, the suppression of Chechens by Russians, and the slaughter of Muslims in the Balkans and Crete." Ok if by this you are not justifying the masacres what are you doing.
On the contrary you are the one calling for the elimination of Muslims, especially minorities. So, when do you plan to implement the Injun Inquisition? The question in the first repeated.
but even a slight application of force to control a situation like a riot on them gets them all frothing and angry. I will tell you what I am talking about. The Moradabad riots of 1981. A pig went near a prayer meeting that was not taking inside a mosque but on the main road of the city. Just by seeing the pig the Muslims went on a rampage. The police retaliated first with a cane charge and when two cops got caught by the mob and were being lynched by firing approximately 50 people were killed in the firing. In revenge muslims all over UP, Calcutta, Hyderabad and Bhiwandi rioted with perverse consequences for them.
Ok while you are in your double speak mode you can enlighten us why the muslims in India had to riot on the following issues and kill Hindus:
1) Takeover of the masjid in mecca by Islamists.
2) Hanging of ZA Bhutto
3) Publishing of Satanic verses.
What did the Hindus have to do with any of this. Hmm let me think:
3) Rushdie was born in India so because of him Indian blood has to be spilled (prefereably of Kafirs)
2) Bhuttos mother was Hindu and as he was muslim and died let a few Hindus die as well.
1) How ever much I stretch I cant find a linkage maybe you with your fantastic imagination can try e.g. Aurangzeb a Rajput
Also you have not responded to any of my questions earlier to you in Landlords of Defence To Pakistan's Defense.
