I wish I am the right person to answer on that. Actually, I am not at all idealist. Moreover, I am not even a peacenik particularly when it comes to our immediate neighbour.
You seem to be a good person. So, this question should be answered by those who have absolute goodness in their heart. I lack that quality. Therefore, will keep away.

"BTW- do you think Pakistani and Indian media should collaborate more often? "
BA (Hon.) Media Gs need to arrange the next chai-biscoot session for collaboration in Korangi. They need to force the darbari Gs to meet in Korangi and Dharavi and not some foreign resort. This will stop shedding of electric load and salwars of common Ayesha and Abduls.
Kasabi Papilandis need to first stop nanga-nach of Arabi bellydancer in Papiland. Media Gs in Papiland need to write more about the plight of Hindu Haris, abduction of Hindu girls and forced conversion to Arabi belly dancer's kabila.

No worries dolphin1 and Humsab :-) why was your account blocked? Did you violate Chowk's T&Cs.
BTW- do you think Pakistani and Indian media should collaborate more often? Why do you think Pakistanis are not allowed in Indian media briefings (same is the case for Indian journalists as well)?

Due to indiscriminate banning, I cant log in with original ID of Humsab. And since I had to respond to you, I created another one.
First of all, I apologise but you may notice that I had made inconclusive statements on the basis of anticipated replies to questions. Since, reply is 'NO' to what I asked, conclusion does not matter.
Anyway. glad to interact with somebody who believes in giving equal space to spouse coming from family following other faith and not using 'emotional blackmail' to convert for love even if only in name.
Sorry again.

i don't think indian journalists should share anything with pakis. no matter what we do pakis will always complain and harras. they are envious people. they have nothing to show for last 60 years.

Humsab- my name is Ibrahim Sajid Malick and I am not "goodarsalan." I never hide behind aliases. Not sure why you asked about my wife- but no, niether one of us have been so thrilled by any religion to join/convert. We haven't changed our name, color, race, gender, sexuality or ideology. I change my opinion when convinced that my original thoughts were inadequate/wrong.
Intent of this article was to generate a conversation around Indian and Pakistani media collaboration. I have failed :-)

Following is the best statemewnt:-
"cobra- i would request good and progressive indians like you to look at pakistan in historical context. zia ul haq killed our country. army and usa together promoted the thugs who became larger than life. india of course did you not help- bgp validated everything these people in pakistan were saying. i hope india will be sane and patient."
So, the blame and responsibility both come to Indians because Zia was not Pakistani but an alien and Army has also landed from Pluto!!! So, Indians need to be SANE and PATIENT!!!
Excellent and truly wonderful!!

Is the author of the Article interacting here as goodarslan?
If yes, then his views may be taken a little seriously if he comes out clearly if his wife had to convert to marry him even if in only name?
If the answer is 'yes' then he is as fundamentalist as anyone else lecturing Indian from that comic stage constructed in our loving most friendly neighbouring country even though he himself may not have a foot to stand on.

Cobra- by dlinking peace process from terrorism both India and Pakistan win. This isolates the terrorist.
Arslan yaar, you are rather naive; that's all I can say. The terrorist can only be isolated when those who provide support and nurture them (read the Paki army) stop doing it. Unfortunately, the Paki army is nowhere close to even thinking along those lines. It continues to believe that it can use the terrorists as the first line of defense. The Paki army will only realize its folly when the men it fed turn against it, as on the western front.
BJP does not want resumption of talks with Pakistan. BJP calls it "a diplomatic blunder".
Yaar, please do not forget it was the BJP government that led the resumption of talks with Pakistan. Vajpayee even visited the Minar-e-Pakistan to show to Pakis that India meant business. Unfortunately, things turned out differently. As for it being against talks in the current climate, most Indians feel unless Pakistan does something about the terrorists acting inside its territory, there is no point in doing so, and the BJP is merely echoing it.

I am not a BJP supporter. I abhor Modi. But you are absolutely wrong about the BJP. When Vajpayee was PM he came to Pak and tried very very hard to make peace. Your rogue Army replied with Kargil.
He invited Musharaff to Agra afterwards. The graceless, arrogant a$$hole all but torpedoed the peace summit with his grandstanding. Why blame the BJP?
Trust me, regardless of who rules India, do not expect the foreign policy to change significantly. Assume it will always be pro-India like it should be.

Cobra
Pakistanis are aware of the complicity between terror groups and army/ISI, and Pakistan is on a course of freeing itself from military supremacy. Hafiz Saeed, who used to have authority and support, was arrested and his organisation was banned. This is a change from couple of years ago when they ran madressahs and training camps. Change could be slow but it is happening.
Peace.

Don't you realize that you are basically telling the terrorists that you, or the Paki establishment, is too weak to deal with them?
If you are serious about these terrorists, and so far there are no indication of that, you should have squash terrorists and their support base. Instead what do you do? You home arrest Hafeez Said (wink wink) and them let him go a couple of days afterwords! Your prime minister says that the defense chief will come to India to cooperate, and that would have been a good gesture of your genuine goodwill, but Kayani and company refuse to even make a statement.
Would you blame Indians if they think that your Govt. is hand in gloves with these terrorists?

Future of dialogue between India and Pakistan should depend on Pakistan's action against terrorism. Until then, there should be no question of resuming the composite dialogue. India has started a limited dialogue process at the level of foreign secretaries. But it'll depend upon Pakistan's action against terrorism. That's the crucial issue. At the moment, what Pakistan has done isn't enough for the composite dialogue to begin. It would be strange if, ignoring everything, we go back to the composite dialogue with them. What form of dialogue and when it'll take place should depend on actions by Pakistan to dismantle terror infrastructure, punish those behind the Kabul embassy blast and the Mumbai attacks, and prevent future attacks.

Cobra- by dlinking peace process from terrorism both India and Pakistan win. This isolates the terrorist. When these terrorist know that they cannot derail peace process they will have very little incentive to do anything crazy.
Look fundamentalists on both side of the borders would like to continue hostility. It is for the saner elements to keep peace on track. I salute Singh and Gillani for the courage. BJP does not want resumption of talks with Pakistan. BJP calls it "a diplomatic blunder".
Guess who is against peace process in Pakistan? Islamic fundos and terrorists..
