Terrible article. The grain of truth here is this: "Before colonialism men and women's roles benefited both genders. If women did have roles as mother and wives, then men were providers and protectors."
Then the rest of the article turns that on its head and becomes a self-contradictory mess. Gender roles before colonialism were fine, nay empowering. After colonialism, they were horrible and oppressive. Huh?
This is just a typical "noble savage" viewpoint to be dismissed.

This is a really well written article.
I don't agree with all your premises, eg I think you let off the Islamic orthodoxy in Algeria far too easily, but I completely agree about Gandhi. You mention taking away jewellery in algeria, but this was also quite common in pre-independence India, both by freedom fighters for the independence struggle, and the British for the world wars. Both would have told you women were doing this of their own accord, but in a country where women rarely owned land, only jewellery, it was a cruel thing to do.
It is true that decolonisers do not want to deal with women's issues, and this attitude persists in many countries, but for how long can it continue?

#22 parthaab doesn't tell the truth, he just express his hatred. But I agree he shouldn't be banned. How else will he expose his true nature.

why is parthab being banned? It is true that guy is quite pissed at womenfolk for some reason, but he tells the truth hance there is no reason to ban him - if you can't handle the heat, don't cook in the kitchen.

I think this is one of the best articles I have seen in recent times. Brilliantly written and intelligently argued.

Just trying to understand why you say what you say.
By the way, with this attitude you will need enormous luck to entice any girl.
