harish...firstly I reckon you have some problems with Riaz sb because he is on to India's shenanigans.
GF yaar, whatever makes you happy! But the fact is that Riaz mian has been caught lying so many times, it is hard for a non-Paki to take him seriously. Why, just yesterday he posted excerpts of an article that seemed to be implicating India for the violence in Pakistan, but when someone posted the full article and read in its entirety, sounded just the opposite. That Pakistan was claiming an Indian hand with no basis whatsoever. So there!
..secondly, you wish to be judge, jury, and executioner all rolled into one and talk of some high falutin evidences as presented by India somewhere for probably some sort of an inside job...then wish to portray your gang as some sort of angelic entities capable of committing no crimes.
Yaar, you must be smoking something potent, for I'm arguing exactly the opposite. Present the evidence that you have to a neutral, third party like India did post-26/11 and let the world decide for itself. Today, when Pakistan's credibility is at its nadir and when no one (not even your closest ally China) believes you, at least some third party verification might help your cause. That's all I'm saying.
As for 26/11 being an inside job, I think you've not grown since that unfortunate tragedy happened. Qasab has admitted to being a Paki and your own leadership has admitted to his and the other terrorists' Paki origins. So continue to be in denial; someday when someone comes to get your a$$, you can always get away by believing its not yours.
..when their brazenly duplicitous crimes against neighborly nations are already exhibits, as Mukti Bahini in East Pakistan, and Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka...and obviously the perpetration of the mayhem (like the blast in the Meena Bazar, in Peshawar which killed only women and young children) serves no one, but only leaves a tell tale signature of infamy...so some pretty interesting bit of thuggery they are involved in...
Yaar, your paranoia is getting the better of your common sense. Your own army slaughtered 3 million Bengalis just because they were a shade darker than their compatriots in the western wing and you have all but turned Afghanistan back into the stone age; so just as you were arguing yesterday, you shouldn't exactly be throwing stones at others.

#63 jatti: this was your summary "Summary - Article was about China's fears and insecurities and need to expand its hegemony, not about India's unjustified fears, wild dreams etc feeding "rabid" response."
The only way the article could be summarized as you did was to ignore what it wrote about Indian behavior, to assume that "rabid" means "reasonable". No amount of twisting and turning and shaking of head from side to side changes that.
This is not my last post, since I am just a little guy unlike a high-flying Indian who can re-define the meaning of words, issue a lordly "last post" to declare the proceedings closed and walk off. I enjoy my little joys on chowk, not a high flying Indian on its way to becoming a superpower, complete with a nuclear sub to nowhere.

Tahmed - last post and I will leave this discussion.
Rabid: Extremely zealous or enthusiastic; fanatical
I encompassed it all with my phrase "over the top" to characterize Indian reaction repeatedly. Apparently, in your dictionary "over the top" means "Rational".
Secondly, you brought ISI up by implying that my read of the article was equivalent to stating that ISI sneaked in the "rabid" phrasing.
IF you had different read of the article, then you should have addressed that, rather than mud-slinging in "oh so sickly sweet language".
Marad hote to khul ke maidan mein aate aur apna nazariya pesh karte.
Thirdly, this is all very childish. Not to proud that I engaged in my clarification and now this post. Please feel free to continue taking me to task for all real and imagined interpretations/slights etc. I leave you to your meager joys. Bye.

jatti sahib: on your first point, i did not say or imply that you mentioned ISI/Pakistan. please re-read my post.
on your second point, you are repeating the same point you made earlier (i.e. that the article is about China, and the quotes about the "rabid Indian press" etc. actually means that it is China that is the problem.). i already agreed with you when you made this point the first time, and was merely bowing to your superior knowledge of the meaning of the word "rabid" which can only mean "rational" based on what you say. "rabid" does not mean what i (being a dumb paki) had always understood it to mean (i.e. the opposite of "rational").
good luck to you too. you are indeed way too rational for chowk. we pakis are only fortunate to have other indians, rational like yourself, who have more patience than you with us pakis, and spend all their time on chowk identifying the various shortcomings of pakis and islam.

Tahmed Sir: Could you please point out where Pakistan / ISI etc are mentioned in my this post or other posts...or denial that some Indian behavior might be over the top? What was so offensive about my post?
Second, based upon the fact that your quotes from the article were quite juicy, and you have repeated them often in various threads, I expected the article to provide insight into over-the-top behavior of India driven by its insecurities. Instead it talked about China and its agenda (nothing wrong with it, but it was about China's fears about Tibet and what-not).
Perhaps Chowk and Rationality are like oil and water - they do not mix. In order to maintain my sanity (or perhaps insanity), I should stay out and let your superior intellect rule. Good luck!

jatti #57 So, it was all about Chinese perfidy!! The words "rabid" to describe Indian behavior was actually used to mean "perfectly resonable". I should have known better!! But being a dumb paki, I am so grateful there are smart Indians like you around to explain what was really meant.
Me bad.
PS: Perhaps that the word "rabid" was tossed in (along with the word "breathless" for good measure) to describe Indian behavior by an ISI spy while the Economist editor wasnt looking??

Tahmed - Intrigued by your quotes about rabid Indian reaction to China and wanting to learn why Indians were needlessly riled up , I went to the article expecting to find out that Indians driven by their insecurities, were making mountains out of mole hills.
Instead I found an article which pretty well summarized China's insecurities, its need to push its agenda / hegemony and territorial claims while it still can (before India becomes its equal). It has this window of opportunity, and it is starting to make noises, become aggressive etc. Given the past Indian history of not taking threats from China seriously and losing a war with it, is it a surprise that a section of Indian media is maybe going overboard, raising all sorts of red flags?

#55/54: You advanced Indians should not be wasting your precious time and brilliant minds with us lowly and stupid pakis. What is the US Secretary of State when we have such brilliant minds as yours giving us such valuable advice!!

Americans will go away, thats for sure, guys. but they have become so so disgusted with Pakistan and the way it double times friends that they will never come back again. china might definitely help you, then, like how a noose holds the dead mans head! then you will understand the meaning and the value of American friendship. you guys have lost the plot.

First it was Kerry and other senators snubbing Pakistani "take it or leave it types" now its Hillary!
These stupid Pakis fail to realise that Washington´s policy has changed towards Pakistan, as Hillary said we will never work with dictators, unlike before in US checkered history of foreign affairs.
Indian market is fast expanding after china growth wise. It is fourth largest economy in the world (Purchase Power Parity) after US-China_Japan. And US will have hard time ignoring that. Against this Pakistan is a failed state (#10) with whom no one wants to associate or do bsns.

tahmed32 sahib, no one in the west seems to have heard of a certain Zaid Hamid, whose has an almost cult-like following and whose rabidness would put to shame whatever rabid the Indians can muster up. But carry on the celebrations and don't let me spoil this moment of glory and happiness for you!

How dare the evil west call our beloved Indian neighbors "rabid" and "breathless"??!! How dare the evil Chinese simply ignore Indian rantings..er..orders..er..whatever??
Himalayan histrionics
Oct 29th 2009
..recent bonding between China and India has turned to repulsion. Breathless Indian commentary talks of irreconcilable rivalry, even future conflict. As for the Chinese, few had bothered much about India....That makes an October editorial on the website of the People’s Daily, the Communist Party mouthpiece, all the more striking.
...A rabid Indian press is fed by retired military officers and some serving ones. ...
...China’s polemics are also designed to resonate with India’s smaller neighbours, who have their own gripes about its overbearing style...As for whether India and China can bury the hatchet over the border: that depends as much on China’s understanding of its internal threats as on its robust, sometimes rabid, southern neighbour(i.e. India).
