Miandad is da man.

I always thought his approach to cricket was always bit on the conservative side but when it came to crunch time, crisis time, it was him we all looked to. Even though Imran Khan was in the team. He was Michael Jordan of cricket. Nay Michael Jordan was Javed Miandad of cricket. MJ and JM.

Wow! finally, someone wrote at least something fitting to recognize the true hero Pakistan`s cricket. Really, just like in other spheres of life, we don`t thank the heros when they could appreciate it. Only when they are gone that we realize what really we`ve lost. My true thanks to you Umair and to the THE hero, Javed.

Re Omar:

I first submitted it to Cricinfo where it was published (at the Googler`s Gazette) . Next it was published here. As far as I know it has not been published anywhere else - unless someone else plagiarized it.

I suddenly remembered some lame songs done by Hassan Jahangir or Sajjad Ahmed, which invaded our ears everyday after that sixer off the last ball in Sharjah.

i dont remember all the lyrics just the chorus .. which was just ` Jaavaaid Miandaaaaaad`

But hey better late then never .. Miandad, I never was a great cricket fan, but your innings ... I never missed. There never can be anyone quite like you.

Wonderfully presented. Yes, it was agonizing to
watch Miandad return after that last innings in
Bangalore. Is it not strange that there is so
little written about Javed Miandad. Perhaps
he did not have the blessings of the British
Press; but shouldn`t that be held as a badge
of honor?
