Re: Flakes
Well no one is suggesting that we turn to Imran to be proud of ourselves -
certainly not me. But The Flake Khan has done more for the country
in just his Cancer hospital endeavor than just about
any Pakistani out there. Most of the rest of us and the rest of ``them``
have had about as much effect as the flakes that Head & Shoulders (wrongfully)
claims to oust.

Is it really necessary that we have
to turn to ``flakes`` like Imran Khan to be
proud of ourselves?

Good article, Saleem. A nice, depressing read.
The final comment though is a bit misleading.
Cricket is the land we escape it, I agree. It
is the false support we Pakistanis have. Imran,
while no miracle worker, is in my opinion, a fairly real
pillar in an otherwise crumbling political
situation. If you do believe Khan Sahib may
do some good for teh country, your last comment
does not make it clear by equating him with teh false sense of
relief we get from our Cricket teams (not too good)
recent performances. If instead, you do think
that Imran is basically good for nothing and bad
for all, I would disagree. Comparing him to the
Sharif`s and the Bhuttos and the Zardaris and
of course, Altaf, I find him a more preferrable
alternative to say the least (of course in such
company Pauly Shore would seem a decent choice
for President....Hmmmmm).
So with Pakistani politics as abysmal as it is,
when do we get an article on Cricket from you?!
