Good Luck and best wishes for you.

No doubt this country is good for earning money and getting good education, but same cant hold any longer for raising your children.

I have been working in IBM and I feel that its not possible to protect your children in this society.

We are Pakistanis so we cant mix in the culture here but our kids, raised here are not Pakistanis so they would be like them.

If U put every possible effort, what if Ur son says to U that he is gay!! what will U do? If Ur daughter says that she is pregnant!! It will be killing for GHIRATMAND people, not for those who have forgot their basics!!

Shall we stay or shall we go?

Mr. Z.Ahmed, you sound like a Jew returning to the promised land of Israel. Your Song of NEXT YEAR IN JERUSALEM (I mean Pakistan in your case) is pathetic. Grow up and realize that Pakistan is a moral cesspool far worse than the free choice of being whatever you want to be here in N.America.

Dont be afraid of freedom, embrace it in your own way. Running away never solves problems. It is those who confront problems and prevail that show strong character.

Dissapointed with your choice. However, if you still have your hara patta or blue passport you can always return.

People can live the way they want to. Although this society is moraly bankrupted but we do enjoy freedom which is lacking in pakistani society today. I know raising kids
especially fo muslims is little hard but with little care and Gods help our future generation can be better muslims than us.

I am hopefull and not leaving toronto until
the next big bang...

Dear Ahmad sahib:

I admire your courage to act on the basis of your beliefs. The road you`ve chosen is fraught with peril and many a test lie ahead.
I fear for you is because you seem to harbor the hope that returning to Pakistan will shield your kids from the ``cultural values`` of this society. That is a precarious wish at best.

The Pakistan that we people left in the Seventies and Eighties is long gone and the society there today is very different and continues to change at breakneck speed. In recent years I`ve spent several months traveling through Pakistan and I can tell you from first hand observations that in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad at least, things go on that you and I could never have imagined possible. In this day of global MTV and Internet, no place is an island. I hope you are not harboring a false sense of security and pray that you be spared the heartache and disappointments of waking up to a changed society, as did Rip van Winkle when he returned to his village which he naively thought he knew so well.

Good luck.

...SR
