Beutiful. Reminds of an S.D Burman song from the movie ``Guide`` (based on R. K Narayan novel)

``Kehten hain gyani
Duniya bemani
Paani pe likhi likhayee

Sab ki hai dekhi
Sab ki hai jaani
Haath kise ki na aiyee

kuch tera na mera
musafir, jayega kahan..``

(the wise people say
the world is decieving
like words written on water
everyone sees them
everyone knows them
but noone can capture them

cannot be posessed by you or me
traveller, where will you go?)

hi Waheed and BG!

Leonardo da Vinci once said that he got most of his inspirations from staring at stained walls. The patterns are undefined and one`s mind is free to roam, forging images and then melting them down. Remember in Hesse`s Steppenwolf, a face appears from an old moldy wall, and disappears?

I invite you to sit down and gaze at the rippling surface of a lake. Let your mind wander...

The imagery is beautiful. Like Waheed Malik, though, I submit to not really being with it in terms of English, modern, free verse poetry. You have to hit me in the face: Who is it? What is it you are talking about?
