What will India gain from attcking Pakistan? Is Pakistan resourceful?
Ans:- Cost of war is high. The cost to maintain troops in hostile environment is far more dangerous.
India can not afford to take similar action against Pakistan like 1965, not due to neuclear deterrence...It is her weak position in Kashmir (After 1987...).
India has enough of its internal problem, and the jihadis will do more harm to Pakistan than India....

I don`t know what should I say about Pakistani nuclear dterrrence. But one thing I know for sure is that India would have ivaded Pakistan long time ago if we didn`t have the nuclear cpability. Remember in 1965, after Pakistan interfered in Kashmir, India launched a full scale war against Pakistan. What is stoping India from crossing the International borders now when Pakistan`s interference is at a much bigger scale than 1965 and is going on for last 10 years.

Maybe it`s too late to tell them not to explode a bomb. However, I am willing to drive up to NYC to
protest against the explosions. Who else is going?

CLIP THE HAWKS’ WINGS
The government of Pakistan is sending a three member legislative delegation to Washington next
week. The purpose of the delegation is not specifically stated, however, it is clear that their context
is the ongoing nuclear drama in South Asia.
The delegation consists of two MNAs, Ijaz ul Haq and Sarwar Cheema and Senator Akram Zaki,
who is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. While Zaki was formerly secretary
general foreign affairs and ambassador to US, China, Nigeria and Philippines, the qualifications of
the other two members are open to conjecture.
Three qualities, however, are shared by this trio:
(1) Their egotistical and ambitious political opportunism,
(2) their hawkish jingoism, and
(3) their utter oblivion towards the economic realities of today’s world.
The trio lands in New York on June 29th and ‘goes to work’ on the Pakistani community in the NY
area on May 30th and 31st. Their program is being handled by Mr. Zaidi, the consul general.
On the first of June they travel to Washington to meet with Congress. (Interestingly, a
congressional sub-committee is scheduled to start hearings on the cancellation of IPP agreements
by the Pak Govt - this had been scheduled way ahead of all this nuke business, but still, the
timing couldn’t have been worse for Pakistan.)
The purpose of this posting is to invite all those chowkwallas who clamor for ‘action’ to converge on
New York and intercede with the delegation members. I, for one, intend to go there and raise the
voice of reason in the nest of misguided Pakistani hawks.
Make yourselves available on Saturday and Sunday if you can get to New York. Perhaps someone
can talk sense into the deaf ears of the hawks that they should stop waving their little atomic ‘lulli’
(mini-penis) in front of that exhibitionist Vajpie’s nuclear ‘Long Dong.’ It will impress no one, and will
earn a lot of hardship for the already impoverished and exploited population of the Indus Valley.
Mr. Zaki, in yesterday’s daily Nation, had the temerity to suggest that Pakistan could refuse to
honor its debt obligations if the West puts pressure on Islamabad. What this could do to the
country’s financial well being does not take an economics Ph.D. to figure out.
They claim that New Delhi’s mood is very aggressive as was that of Nazi Germany in 1938. The
analogy could back fire on Mr. Zaki. What moral claim can a Pakistan Government have on
decrying the ills of Nazism when their owns blasphemy laws put them in league with the National
Socialists of the Third Reich?
Unfortunately, our ruling elite has no concept of reality. They live so deep down in their well that to
them the sky is a tiny round-shaped blue disc directly overhead. If you tell them about the horizon
they look at you funny.

Dear Mr.Amir,
If this is a discussion on who did what to whom, it is bound to be futile. There are n number of factual errors and to put it mildly, you have taken poetic license with history, modifying it to suit Pakistani propaganda.
Indians were, are and will always be peacelovers.
Firstly, you claim India cannot aspire for regional superpower status !! I ask why ? We are a billion-people strong, and a sixth of humanity itself. If we seek our place in the sun, why is that wrong ? I dont understand !
Wars are like claps - it takes 2 hands to clap and 2 idiots to go to war. Kashmir was legally acceeded to India by the Maharaja at Partition - a fact you were economical with ! And maybe you would like to explain why Pakistani troops killed 3 million unarmed Bangladeshis in cold blood ? This ranks only next to the Nazi holocaust. So we had to step in on purely humanitarian grounds. That can never be wrong. And if this were to happen again, I am sure, we will do the same thing. Also, you conveniently ignored the fact that Pakistan gifted away part of Kashmir to China. I ask why ? Where was your high moral horse then ?
We face continous threats from China, which claims the entire Indian state of ARunachal Pradesh. Conventionally, we are no match for China, the only deterrent we have is nuclear. That way the Chinese think twice, is it worth taking over A Pradesh at the cost of Beijing or Shanghai.
As for the Indian govt, it is democratically elected. Govt is simply govt, not hindu, not Christian, not muslim. The nuclear tests have the support of the entire nation.
As for Kashmir, the issue can be put on the backburner while trade is actively pursued. The issue can be solved after 20 - 30 years. Right now, hawks on both sides are itching for a disaster. Best solution is to put it on low priority. Let us be on speaking terms first, then we can think of how to divide the family buffalo ( an Indian saying ).
The hawks in Pakistan declaring India to be the land of Kaffirs and how Inshallah, you will win cities for Islam and such hogwash is the reason the present state of affairs has come to be. Stop being expansionist and fundamentalist. Stop training terrorists like Mir Aaml Kansi, stop blowing up innocent people. Get civilised, see how people`s reaction to you changes.
I am not saying India is not to blame. Yes, there have been a few mistakes on our side. But you accusing us is like the pot calling the kettle black.
Stop painting yourself as poor victims and shedding false tears. Stop the hypocrisy and leanrn to face realities. Unless you can own up to your misdeeds, nothing fruitful will ever come out of any dialogue.
Jai Hind !

Syed, sir, it is exactly this sort of jingoism that will lead to the escalation of hostilities between the two countries. At this point, it is really of no consequence to bow down to a juvenile discussion of ``who started it?`` A fascist regime in India must not be countered by a fascist response in Pakistan. I pray, as well, for ``Pakistan Zindabad,`` but if Pakistan tests...

RE: Amir Hussain
Well said and then some! Sometimes, I wish that Pakistan would be more like Israel in being shrewd and cunning in its physical and emotional bouts with India. I think we will see Pakistan more and more moving in that direction, more so than in the past. I believe that if Pakistan
continues taking the high road as it has done in the recent nuclear crisis perpetrated by India, it will soon reach that utopia of becoming the ``Israel`` of South & Central Asia ... physically, emotionally, economically and socially and religiously. InshaAllah!!

PAKISTANI CONCERNS
Dr. Hoodbhoy, another fine enunciation to avert another holocaust.
Let me say at the outside, here at the CHOWK as well at other places I have clearly stated my opposition to a test by Pakistan.
Now on to the SIXTH KEY QUESTION. What should be Pakistan`s rational response? Remember, I resent being nuked out, while reading Ghalib, sipping my choice drink,at the end of a long day.
Indeed, is there a rational response?
For starters, shall I change the green passport for the maroon one? (Or whatever colour it is)?
Accept India`s pledge not to initiate the first strike, and go back to Ghalib? Accept the vaguely worded assurances from the Big Brother?
Yes, we have educational, religious, industrial, commerical, political, moral and legal mess. And now this nuke mess!
Like many others, I feel I have a plethora of questions. Perhaps, subconsciously, I am trying to feel my way out of this mess. Enough for now.
