Tripe - create one job for one human being and you will have achieved more than this crap.

The world is full of hatred - see it head-on and face it. Dont sermonize about love and brotherhood amongst communities when it doesnt exist - it is people like who are surprised by riots, mosque-destructions etc because you live in la-la land. It is only us who know that hate exists can stop it.

On India and communism: Not to beat a dead horse, but the true lesson of the demise of communism, imho, is the failure of dogmatism, the failure to be realistic, insightful and in possession of enlightened self-interest on the part of those in power. Let us pray (in the interest of progress and peace in the sub-continent) for greater supply of these to those in power in India (and my own dear Pakistan and all other places on earth).

Amitava Kumar points out truths, all truths. He points out social ills and their immediate causes. Nobody can deny that. It is what is interrlaced with these. He has no soultion. His solution to you is Communism (yawn). Communism has failed. Its experiments all over has failed. Yes, Communism seems very effective in the short run. Look at a lot of states in India which gave basic education to millions of men and women. But in the long run it cannot sustain itself. It goes against the very grain of free spirit, free mind, individuality and self interest that human beings are made of. Ideally it makes sense. It makes damn good PhD projects. It is not for human beings. It makes sense if you replace human beings with numbers, and then the ``budget will balance``. It is an incomplete mathematical formula with a lot missing variables.
India learn from others mistakes. India learn from your own experiments of failed Socialism (Indian socialism is a nothhing but diluted Communism). Communists of India - wake up. Update our Universities to stop teaching this BS. Learn from what is happening elsewhere in the world. You started off trying to address evils of society but you are now a prehistoric, ailing ``CHurch``.

re: Khan
I agree with you. But Amitava has no solution. He doesn`t go beyond identifying the problems.

re: jagdeep
You seem to have misunderstood what rational and MPSingh are saying. I don`t know about any hidden agendas that they may have. At least in their replies so far, they have not said anything that you are replying to. WHat are you replying to ? THey are optimistic. They have hope. They are not denying the social ills pointed out by AMitava. They just aren`t impressed with his solution.
I don`t want BOMBs
I don`t want Khaki nikkers
I don`t want Communism
I don`t want Socialism
I want my religion to be secularism
My mantra is set the Indians free. Let us earn a living. Let us be masters of our own destiny and KISMET. We have the right groundrules of secularim, equality, separation of Church and State, down on paper. Let us now make the ECONOMIC BOMB. I am sick of being an economic refugee elsewhere.
As far as your outburst goes. Nobody is denying the facts pointed out by Amitava. THe sad thing is even today every piece of software has some ``Made by Indians`` educated in India, but none ``Made in India``. THe commies don`t even understand what I am talking about. THey will say why do you need software, you just need dal roti. THey are the ones denying reality. I too, was a Commie once.

BG: how about some real views instead of expert comments and maatchis.....
regards
RanaRansher

They demand salaam, only red salaam

India, Fundos are coming

They want total submission

Your submission, my submission

Total acceptance of their revelation

When the knowledge is borrowed, India

Everything looks RED

When the rational expands

It sees all color

When the intellect expands

It knows source of all colors

In ecstasy it says all are the same

India We want red flags and also green, saffron, blue , white, yellow and orange

How can we play holi only with red India

India you have a place for Mukesh and also Alisha,

You have never known mutually exclusive identities India

You are the sanctuary for EVERY thought India

This spiritual freedom is you India

This freedom to make choice has made you tolerant India

This is your strength and weakness India

India I have no problem with LAL but

India, you can not be ONLY LAL

How can a painter paint only with red, India

Look at greens of Nature India

No two greens are identical

India Nature has a place for every shade of color

Otherwise Sustainability of creation will be WANZ India

India when the unions are not red

Then you must say they are busted

When it is revealed,

it must be true.

When somebody confronts it

They say it is scary,

They murmur about you as fascist,

Then they label you Nazi

You know it India,

In villages how ownerless dogs are treated

When one, only barks at you

It is labeled RABID

You know India how ownerless dogs are treated

They say,

They have the answer,

We have seen their experiment

We also know their results.

I am not against new experiment India,

But they say ONLY Physics can solve the human misery.

India I am not perfect,

But I have learned

Everybody claiming to have attempted a solution

Has left with more mess

India for the record

I am a peasant s child, and not Zamindar s son

And that is why I have concerns for your deception

RE: Rationalist

Amitava Kumar deserves congratulations for drawing our attention to the problems afflicting our society and some of their causes.

People like the ‘rationalist’ have nothing to offer to this society except the BOMB wrapped in ’Khaki Knickers’.

They lecture others :

Be happy with poverty, decease, illiteracy .. because this is in your KISMET, this is in GOD’s scheme of things just as it was for some (of us) to go thousands of miles away from our beloved BHARAT and enjoy all those comforts which vast majority of BHARATVAASIS do not deserve - it is not in your KISMET - do’nt you see you thick INDIANS.

You HIDUSTANIS should be happy in the thought that once we were MAHAAN.

We gave the world Vedas, Puranas, Geeta, Kokshastra and now the BOMB. Is’nt that enough. What else is important

Rationalist’s LOVE for ‘MERA DESH’ is no more than a sentimental luxury which is invoked from time to time provided it does not harm his own KISMET.

P.S. Why does not MPSINGH suggest something positive himself instead of asking the KABOOTAR to close his eyes and the problems will go away.

Re Rationalist:

Great Job rationalist. A real good fitting reply.

I am reading chowk since long but never posted anything. Registered today to congratulate you. Why can`t these ``Indian intellectuals`` do or suggest something positive rather than just finding faults.

Keep it up.

Be aware of INDIANS, `India`

I know `outsiders` call you India

For me you are Bharat, Hindustan, an indigenous

I know `India` you are in deep trouble

You are poor, illiterate and exploited but

I trust your wisdom `India`

Commies are on rampage `India`

They are wearing different grabs

Sometimes they come to you secular, sometime they are democratic

Sometimes they are naxalities, sometimes even they call themselves Muslims,

Sometimes they are admirers of Buddha and sometimes they even are admirers of Vivekananda,

You are wise `India`, for centuries you know what is real and what is `maya`

I trust you `India` You have potential to make right choice.

You are great `India`

Indians do not tell you what values you have given to the world

`India` this is everybody`s heritage

I thank you for preserving it for me

`India`, Indians call you Hindu, Muslim, Backward, Sawarna, Aryan, Dravidian

Indians are weakening you in the name of identity war for a take over

I do not know `India` how to explain

They are Professors and I am student

But I have learned `India`, these are the only Indians who claim intelluctual property right for the truth and assure to fix all your problem

I know `India` you cannot read

But you know about fate of the communist countries

You definitely know about the `one` who occupied part of your house

I know `India` You are not happy and you need a friend

I know you `India` well

TOOM BHOLE HO

But also you know Puranas

Think `India` before you granting them a wish.

`India` you know the difference between naxalites and terrorist

You have always enjoyed freedom of the `soul` for generations, in spite of invasions

Take care `India` of what you have and

Be aware of these soul occupiers and proselytizers

I know `India` you have learned from the mistakes of the past

Do not allow anyone to parasitize your soul

Do not allow `India` anyone to block your learning

I know India I am not even Abhimanyu

I do not know how to get out of the chakravuha of misery

This web is giant `India`

It is hard for me explain you everything

`India` child needs to be separated at birth from mother

Mother cannot explain everything to child. `India`,

Mother assures child through heartbeats

Feel my heartbeat `India`, know your mother

Hum Jitenge `India` Hum Jitenge

I know `India` you are illiterate but wise

Be aware of these Indians `India`

Do not hate them , otherwise that will be your defeat `India`

An interesting evocation of despair and regret at the continuing tradegy unfolding on the sub-continent. The India, in this article, can be replaced by Pakistan and the sentiments would still be the same.

The great German philosopher, Goethe, once said something about the Germans which I believe is also a true statement on India Pakistan. To paraphrase him;`` I feel a sorrow for the German people (replace German with Pakistani and Indian) that is so estimable in the invidiual and so wretched in the generality. ``

Amit:

Did not enjoy it as much as your first effort. There were some good gems in them lines.

Perhaps, some references didn`t mean anything.

Or I may be having a bad perception day.

Will give it a second read later.

regards
