Thanks for the info...

After checking the site and reading a brief summary of the book, I had a few doubts about the credentials of the author. The book sounded like many books, written as éxposes, to justify the act of apothesy and vindicate the author`s own reasons for leaving Islam in the first place. I have seen many such books written in financial interests pretending to be de jure insightful commentaries on a topic.

In this I agree with Wasiq. It seems that author might have taken that incident out of context, for what ever reasons, and you by quoting him, failed to realize the overall context under which the act happened and thus, drew the wrong impressions from it.
