Yaar aap to khamkha hee serious horahay hain. Although this has to be the first time I have ever heard anyone claim that watching sport for nine straight hours requires a short attention span! As far as getting out more...rehem karain meray is liver pey. Pehley hee bicharay ko mujse bohut shikayatain hain.

ps. Is there a reason you keep referring to me as `Farz`?

Re: Farz
I have better things to do with my attention span than waste it on cricket! The key to watching cricket is not an attention span, but a lack of one!!
Cricket is a perfect game for comatose patients, because it requires no brain activity to understand its tedium.
On the other hand, maybe you should need to get out more often....you will suprised what you are missing!!!

RE Ferozia baji
``I lost interest in cricket after I grew up and discovered that there is more to life than wasting a whole day playing or watching this game.``
I think it would have read better if you said:
``I lost interest in cricket after I came to America and lost any semblance of an attention span.``

FYI, I used to be a rabid cricket playing fiend! I lost interest in cricket after I grew up and discovered that there is more to life than wasting a whole day playing or watching this game.
I am not an ABCD, and besides ABCDs are not the only group, which thinks that this game is a waste of time either!
Also, I like to be sarcastic about cricket and belittle it, because having played it once, it is a form of self-depreciating humor I have and enjoy!
Happy innings!

i personally find all american sports extremely boring. Cricket and soccer are amazing for me to watch, i dont see why anyone would want to degrade the love of any sport. Its a matter of choice. Cricket these abcd types would probably never understand.

Re: Farz
That was cute! :)
The simple answer is that I like sports that do not last more than two hours at the most! Cricket takes toooooo long to watch and is a waste of time, not to mention a totally boring sport!!!
Basketball is over in a couple of hours and you are not glued to the TV like a zombie watching oafs in colored PJs run all day. There is no difference between cricket and watching paint dry. I am sure they all have their own enterainment values, but I rather be productive with my time. As far as this idiotfest `99 is concerned, I only have to read the results to know how the game ended. Watching this snail paced game will not alter the final results.
The only specter sports that matter on this planet is fussball aka football aka futbol aka soccer. Le coupe d` mondial is trully an international event and not this parasitic legacy of the English leisure class masquerading as a game. To paraphrase Patrick Henry, I would favor a new edition of the Spanish Inquistion over cricket!

Re: All
Just saw the Indians gift away the game to Zimbabwe. They have to win all their matches from here on.
Re: Ferozia
I refuse to believe any sport with T.V. timeouts is great. Not to mention that most of those abnormal Allam Channas are ignorant, illiterate, compulsive law breakers [assaults, gambling etc] and just plain greedy [strikes]. The American public is finally coming to their senses and these playoffs promise to be the lowest rated in recent years. Make no mistake it is a great spectacle. Who among us will ever be able to forget Dennis Rodman aka The Worm, why I`m sure they`ll be writing nostalgic songs about him when we are older. Or what can possibly be more sporting than a Spreewell Choke Hold. It is certainly entertaining to watch but great sport it certainly is not.

Yeah, you`re right......the Kings have no place to go, but home and cry! Got to admit, Vlade carried the Kings.....you folks have a young team, but in a couple of seasons you people will crashing into the NBA finals!
Thanks for a great series.....in my opinion, Kings-Jazz series WAS THE NBA FINALS!
Re: Farz
These wussies, as you call them, have no more talent in their little fingers than any cricketer in the world! Cricket is for people who have no life and are willing to spend a whole day sitting on their asses watching some idiots stand in the sun all the day long and chase a red ball around!

My bad. Misread your post....didn`t get much sleep with all the cricket going on:)
On a separte note, what do you think of the S.Africans using earphones and what about that crowd incident with Azharhudhin?

Re: Ferozk
Basketball is for wusses. A game which owes it very existence to the fact that it was raining outside.
Re: Rishi
I don`t know how exactly one wins a game ``on the basis of religion``. I saw both the Indian game and the Pakistani ones. The reason we won ours, and you lost yours, is not because Wasim Akram was praying to God while Azharuddhin was trying to keep his side strictly secular and humanist...it was because the Pakistan team has heart, and the Indian team doesn`t. (apart from Tendulkar)

Pakistan Wins!!!!
Not a strong showing but enough to offer some
encouragement for the future.
The next major stumbling block appears to be
Australia.
Congratulations.
``Pakistan Zindabad`` is being heard now from the
grounds.
Ras
PS: Feroz.
Watch the Sacramento Kings this afternoon in the
NBA Playoffs against the Utah Jazz. Go Sacramento.

Pakistan is to play tomorrow.......lets hope for the best that it loses!
I will be supporting the other side for no other reason than that it can beat Pakistan!!
Rishi, why are you spoiling my fun.... cricket is a religion in Pakistan, whose politics is to distract the masses from their reality!
In the meantime, I am highly enjoying the NBA playoffs, which has more trills in two hours than cricket does in a day!

India played well but South Africa pulled it off.
Now the question is ``Who will slay the South African Dragon?``
