Zeenat:

Another subject close to your heart:

One year later:

Fazaldad Wahla remebered

A young man died last year trying to prevent the honour killing of a teenage girl. She too died this year, fettered in prison, supposedly of tuberculosis.

Was Fazaldad Wahla`s death in vain?

for all who objected to this face of `love` ... it is just one aspect... love comes in as many forms as there r ppl who fall in love...:)

I believe that this is Zeejah`s best work
yet on CHOWK. Enjoyed the symbols that have been
so cleverly presented here.

Nice story, Zeejah. Yes, agreed control is a part of love that one experiences, but a small percent.

I think my ideas about love being something that makes us better people :) doesn`t allow me to see it in such a negative light. Maybe it`s more of a `surrender`, not necessarily control that lovers experience. If it`s all control and heartbreak why would one waste their time with it?

Point taken that it`s the game that we enjoy playing, but shouldn`t there be more to it than just that?

Breathtaking emotions...

keep it up. I want to share this poem with you.

ALONG THE ROAD

I WALKED a mile with Pleasure;

She chattered all the way,

But left me none the wiser

For all she had to say.

I walked a mile with Sorrow

And ne`er a word said she;

But oh, the things I learned from her

When Sorrow walked with me!

(Robert Browning)

Metaphors or allegorical ...the story is about giving without receiving ...about controlling

for the pleasure of it ..of the arrogance that comes from things being taken for granted ..and above all else its about a puppet whose story can onnly be told by an outsider , and the puppet wondering ..lifeless as it is ..that in truth

the puppeteer is the one who in time will have lost all ...

aapni mooti may band kar kay mujhe

laygiya woh pasand kar kay mujhe

jaane woh khud kyo gir gya itna

aasma thuk bulund kar kay mujhe

Zeejah, Zeemax

Interesting discussion about breaking the heart of the one you love. (so two people who truly love each other can`t be together? :)

Loved the story Zeejah, it haunts me, and I`ve stopped seeing tears, it`s sap that i see ;)

Zeejah !

Just thought of something in context with your wonderful tale :

``You always hurt, the one you love;

The one you shouldn`t hurt at all!

You always take, the sweetest rose;

And crush it till the petals fall!

You always break, the kindest heart;

With a hasty word you can`t recall!

So if I broke, your heart last night;

It`s because, I love you most of all!``

That`s Good and Evil residing in perfect harmony within the same human. We`re all the same as the puppetteer Master.

Rgds.

re: zeejah #5,

I agree... mine`s verbose. But then I`m a verbose kinda guy :). I think it was rude enough of me to actually suggest alternative content, but to imitate your style would have been pretty unforgivable. So I stuck to mine (which is mired in this problem where profundity is rarely expressed without verbosity). Anyway... glad you like my alternative. Keep writing.

Ariel: yes, as Oscar Wilde said: `Yet each man kills the thing he loves,

By each let this be heard.

Zeejah, Reply #: 2 the happy one

happy one`s conclusion is very interesting. The puppeteer when depriving the puppet of the last remnant of sap in fact lost his own soul !

Anyone heard of The Mamas and the Papas ? There was a song which went something like this :

`` I didn`t wanna be a chimney sweep, all black from head to toe;

And climb-in in those chimneys, to clean them out with soap.

I`d rather be the gypsy, whose camped on the edge of town;

The one who has the dancing bear, who follows him around.

He puts his hind-feet up, he puts his fore-feet down ... and dances round and round !``

Mamas and Papas (California Dreamin`)were a late 60`s / early 70`s band. The vocalist Mama Cass was about 300 pounds fat with a voice made out of honey, died by choking on a hamburger. Life and death have strange ways !

For many of Chowkwallahs this music would be something only their Moms would know about ! [chuckle]. But if there are some who were into the 60`s/70`s scene heavily, visit Zeemax`s Board at http://www.angelfire.com/zine/gomal and start the topic by band`s name. I`ld be happy to provide mp3`s of those anthems you haven`t heard in a long time.

Rgds.

happy one: no, it is not about God... and yes, your ending is good, but a little verbose, dont u think? i wanted to keep the characters at the minimum to keep the reader focused on the message. will u still be going to see your shrink?...;)

taimur, temporal, happy ... i am glad u enjoyed the story of love and control...:)
