In response to Urstruly (Reply # 193)
Dear Urstruly:
Realistically, I don`t consider Pakistan army as a monolithic institution.
I am sure, Pakistan army has many honest, dedicated, and sensible soldiers/officers. Unfortunately, the institution of Pakistan Army has intendedly or unintendedly put Pakistan`s interests behind its own. Pakistan needs to derive her strength from her people (rather than her army whose primary job is to protect/defend the Pakistani borders).
I personally don`t know what kind of person/officer is Mateen Mohajir. His article, however, suggests that he is one of those who could think. I do understand his silence about the Hamoodur Rahman (Supplementary) Report.
Sincerely, Bilal Ahmad

Dear Bilal,
Mr. Mateen Mohajir is a very slippery fish. I sometime suspect that it is The Mr. Big Kahuna himself.
Regards,
PS. Thanks for the Gardezi`s article.

Enough is enough. Now I am accused of being ``thoughtful and intelligent`` when ``my guard is down`` by shankar! I have decided to go into seclusion with 50 backcopies of the Nation, printed versions of the Shiv Sena web site, and a handful of krashid/ylh posts. I am confident that when I emerge, I shall be back to normal.

Dear Mateen Mohajir:
In order to generate good discussion, you may need to interact with your audience more frequently. This is just a request.

gymnosophist #187, ``Difficult to beat me up verbally, isn`t it?``
That`s never been my intention to begin with. :)
I posted a reply on the doggie marriage board to this.

RSaxena #180,
Come on now, you can do it. What`s stopping you?
By the way, who`s this ``bakra`` I`ve been hearing about from shankar. Don`t tell me it`s .....?
I hope not. Poor kid.
As for offering you protection in Pakistan, where`s the fun in that? Just wear a white shalwar kameez and grow a moustache with or without the pointy ends, you`ll fit right in.
And please mind your ``t`s`` and ``r`s`` when speaking English ;) Sorry couldn`t resist.

You said {And if you could beat gymnosophist up, I will be grateful.}
Difficult to beat me up verbally, isn`t it?
Well, just for this comment, I have sent in a reply to the ``Dog`` board which I withheld for a couple of days.

RSaxena #140 Now that you folks seem to have run out of derogatory things to say about one another`s religion/nationality, how do you intend to live the rest of your lives?

Restive, Oil-Rich Region Is China`s Second Tibet
By John Pomfret
Washington Post Foreign Service
Tuesday, August 22, 2000; Page A12
URUMQI, China –– The Rebiya Building still bustles. The six-story, white-tiled marketplace hums with the sound of merchants blowing yesterday`s dust off their wares: fine silk from Hangzhou, cozy shawls from Pakistan, lace curtains from Shanghai.
But all is not right in this Central Asian bazaar. Rebiya Kadeer, chairwoman of the Xinjiang Akida Industry & Trade Co. and owner of the building, was sentenced to eight years in prison last March for ``illegally passing intelligence outside of China.``

Aw, RSaxena, going through ``insult withdrawal`` are we:)
Maybe you are at your ``finest`` during a mudslinging match. I have to grant you this; when youre guard is down you come across as an intelligent, thoughtful person. But that is sooooo boring.
Not to worry, sooner or later Chowk will post an article that will start a verbal war. As the defacto Indian commander-in-chief, you`ll be back in your element again.
Too bad, ylh is surprisingly subdued these days. Maybe he`s too busy enjoying his stay in Pakistan. Hey, ylh--are you listening?! Bhutto is being attacked on Chowk! Come on!! where`s your Jiye Bhutto enthusiasm!?
Besides, Saxena hates to admit this, but he reeeaaaly misses his favourite ``bakra``. :)

To hamid,
What is happening to you , old nemesis, age is catching up with you or what. Think of the old military training you explained once, the stram men for buyonet training always had turbans. I look forward to your invective and plain humour. It is we the swardsmen who will deliver peace, not the kebab tasting amrut dreaming, politically correct chowkwallahs.
Acceptance of diversity of opinion, what ever that might be is a prerequisite for coexistance, not political correctness.
regards and best wishes.
Jay.

oh-oh looks like, I`m in the peril of being labelled a peacenik...yuck, I hate that word, peacenick...look you all people who jump to conclusions, I`m no such sort...I`m a fiery demogogue who can show hell by sheer use of words...all I am saying is lets be sensible non-peaceniks...we don`t have to get mushy, mushy to have common sense...furthermore, being a peacenik makes us lose our edge to act, what say RSaxena?

``We`re waiting for you to say something mucho derogatory. :)``
Me too! I`ve been waiting for my devious mind to come up with something inflammatory for a while now. All this talk about food, New York, and South Asian sewage systems (lack of) is making me lose my edge! I`ve got to put a stop to this right now :)
