Hilarous, dear temporal your sense of humor seems to be improving with time. You combined imagination with some cheerful levity to produce a humorous effect.

tahmed321 #7,

Don`t tell me you`re comparing a silly moustache and the annoyance with big feet with this wrist-slashing-borderline-bulimic case?

There`s a BIG difference.

Ayesha, I really liked it. The tinge of desperation in the humor, the honest tone, the atmosphere, the sensuousness.

hmmm.... Bulimia, anorexia, women`s self-image.... now this is getting to be an issue-based thread, eh?

Well, let`s take a straw poll. I`m serious! How many men here would find waifish Kate Moss more appealing than Kate Wislett (of ``Titanic`` fame) or Zeenat Aman (of the 80s)?

I`d really be interested in the results, because I suspect women themselves are more influenced by the media`s projection of their `beauty` than are men.

I`m also wondering if the same influence on men mightn`t be a good means by which self-respecting women can separate the boys from the men, so to speak.

re. scout #11:

Harpreet pointed out anatomical features that are obvious and even striking (he also broke the Calista Flockhart stereotype of female beauty-- sexual or otherwise. Kudos to him!) You analogy wasn`t really valid, though your point is taken.

while this article appears fictional - the fact remains taht men and oogling go hand in hand.

cant have one w/o the other.

And you dont know whether to laugh or have a fit at the ``but - since when is looking a crime??``

So dear Ayesha - take heart bet KM`s boyfriend also drools - just (hu)man nature.

and might i add - whats good for the goose is good for the gander or something to that effect!!

urstruly...food is one of the biggest unadulterated and basic pleasures in life..i wish people would not see it as the enemy..

exercise and moderation are often misplaced concepts.

sac#13: i`ll answer your question if you answer mine..why should a woman (or man) want to get married? i asked my parents when they wailed about my single and happy status. sex is not a good enough answer for me...marriage is not a prerequisite for that.
psst...self esteem to answer your question but few let women have that.

time magazine had an issue that had sex and the city on its cover...the week after if you read all the letters to the editors about single and happy women, no woman says she isnt and all men said, women are fooling themselves and should get married....fascinating.

tahmed321 #7:

Rush to a nearby theatrical equipment rental place and rent a full body steel armour. Have a feeling you will need it soon. You are destined to be the new pin-up Boy Chowkie.

However, there is a way to ward off the evil arrows and ‘bud-duas’ that will be hurled in your direction. Follow the instructions carefully.

---Perform ablutions.
---Sit on a prayer rug, facing wherever you think Kaaba is.
---Join the palms of your hands, both pinkies linked.
---Recite Surah Yasin seven times. If you do not remember the whole surah then just say to yourself ‘O Allah, I hereby would have recited surah Yasin seven times. But since you know the truth, accept it as fait accompli.’ He is Most Merciful and will understand.
---Then make sure your wife/girl friend is not in the same room (very important.)
---Prostrate and say loudly, ‘ O Allah, You know I was kidding. You are Mighty and Powerful. That is what the Maulvi Saheb always told me. O Allah help me. If I get out of this relatively unharmed I will throw a Chowk Falsa Party next summer.’ [Make this convincing. I have seen Maulvis with moistened eyes. Maybe Allah likes tears.]
---Get up, hide the prayer rug, wipe the moisture away and go to the computer and send another interact with this cryptic message ‘did it’.

(May) Allah have mercy on you.

Hmmm... it could be about Bulimia as well. Will the real Ayesha show up?

Thanks for the inf. on Kate.

If written as a serious article, I have plenty of problems with it :-). If written as a humorous one, its great until the razor blades.

Which is it, may we know?

Ms. Ikram

It would have been just another article if you hadn`t written the climax as you did. Brilliant. Thanks for writing this article for us. I like your style of writing.

Has anyone noticed that there has been a string of writings on Chowk, by female writers, where food is the main topic, literally or metaphorically. In my opinion, that was imminent. The Kate Moss-ism has prevailed for a longer time than it should have been-since late fiftees. I think now the time has come that ladies have revolted against Kate Moss-ism and years of dieting and resulting osteoporosis, anorexia, and other disorders. It is time that women change the focus of their self-worth from their material self to their `actual` worth. It is in their hands to change the perceptions of a man about a ``perfect`` woman. `The hands that rock the craddle......` you know what I mean.

Here we go again. Bulimia, exploitation by men in various hues and colors, abundance of self-esteem issues due to the media foisting unattainable standards of feminine beauty on a non-suspecting public blah blah blah. Sometimes I wonder if men had the same insecurities as women do whether any of us could function in a `normal` manner?

Can someone please tell me what would it take for the less than `genetically gifted` women to stop feeling insecure and stop caring about what the world around them thinks about their appearance? I guess an honest answer to this question would put most gender studies departments and scholars out of business. So let the charade continue......

later

First there was this article on chowk by a woman concerning the her moustache and the trouble she had to go through to get rid of it. Then came another article by a woman concerning her large feet (or was it to-tall height?) and how she intimidated the shoe salesman as a result. Then a woman explains on chowk how she showers once a week, and that makes her cleaner than other desis. Now you come along discussing the remaining parts of your anatomy and how you tried dissecting it in the shape of a model.

You people must all be from the Lahore College of Women.

To get that heroin-addict look you probably should take drugs of different kind. What`s your (fictional?) fiance`? A teenager?

Harpreet #5, ``You sound delicious.....big breasts, tummy, round bottom...``

Have you ever heard a woman say ``You sound delectable, big penis....round perfect testicles...etc etc?``

Have some respect for women please. There are other ways of appreciating beauty besides the sexual overtones.
