I really liked this piece, and temporal`s response / retort / repartee / rebuttal.

Ayesha, haven`t felt this way since I saw Kevin Spacey in ``Seven``.

My vertebrae still shivers.

Re: Temporal #78

Teeth to tail ratio refers to the number of support/non-fighting men (tail: admin, maintenance, supply, logistics, paymaster, graves registration, military police, what have you) needed to keep one soldier (`teeth`) in the field. I believe the US involvement in Vietnam at its height totalled about 550,000 men, of whom about 60-70,000 were actually in the field. The rest were all the admin support needed to keep them there and do the planning. Western armies need a very lopsided teeth:tail ratio because they are highly mechanized forces and their equipment needs a great deal of extremely complicated maintenance work (huge repair/maintenance depots, etc) and a very complicated resupply chain (petrol, oil, lubricants, spare parts, etc) plus a great deal of communications equipment.

For example, the French in IndoChina could put

Ferozk #74 I agree that the jehadi element in Pakistan is a threat to society in general, most of all to Pakistani society itself. But dont worry - they wont win because they are armed with mere guns, not with truth. And the truth is that the people of Pakistan are a fine, fine people - they are down-to-earth, hardworking, clean-living and intelligent.

So...You can ridicule us and our country because of our political and economic problems. You can equate all Pakistanis with the jehadis and condemn us all. No problem.

Like the ugly duckling, and with God`s Grace, Pakistan will in due course show it`s true colors and turn out to be the beautiful swan it is destined to be, and the finest part of the sub-continent.

Latif #71 Your post makes perfect sense. Wont have any affect though - hypocrisy and irrationality understands chhittar, not reason. Cheers.

Hi

The writings are very impressive in context to the situation of West resident ``Mashriqi larki`` or maybe East resident...

Your articles give a confused idea about u. The articles show that u are very sensitive observer.

I am not that much good in expressing my thoughts.... so bear with me.... but I needed to say something .... but I dont know what...

Regards

IT`S ALL ABOUT FREEDOM STUPID!

In our senseless pursuit of individual freedom we have totally ignored those who cannot speak for themselves. I am talking about the little angels whose souls are burning as fuel in our engine of progress and freedom. Could someone please tell me if KIDDIE PORN is my right or my freedom? Or is it just a commodity that I can buy over the counter.

I wish I were dead after seeing the following site. I have not only lost my peace of mind, for good, but also my faith in humanity and god who claims to be benevolent and all.

Re: Temporal # 27

T, there was a lyrical rhyme to the piece you wrote; it was depressing and yet encouraging in the sense that it was a slice of live: conflicting, and confusing.

I really loved it!

More comments later...

Ciao!

temporal #27 Just read your alternative view to Ayesha Ikram. Very nice. For some reason, I am reminded of that ``I see dead people`` movie (whose name escapes me right now).

How wrong I was to ever think I had any significance. I was a number, a biomass, fertiliser that would bear the ripest fruits on my grave. My rotting body would nourish sour apples and pink sweet seedy guavas. My bones would provide the seeds and skin. My muscles the green leaves and fruity flesh. Then one day, a boy would come by, walk over my grave, pluck the fruit and chew it, in essence eating my dead remains. What were once my limbs, my face, my abused genitals and nails would strain through his teeth, mix with his saliva and plaque, pass through his slimy intestine and get stored within his rectum. 18 hours later, he’d hide behind a broken wall and s * *t me all out. The dry brown faecal matter would then undergo mastication by flies that had visited other s * *ts before. I would journey through their tight tiny rectums too, then get broken down further by fungal moulds. The flies would die seven days later and fall to the ground where every animal would step on them, in essence stepping on me. Would I ever be spared the humiliation?

Humans were so arrogant, so evil and yet this is what they amounted to; lumps of walked over s * *t.

Though this digresses slightly from the subject, it comes down to the same thing, the physical humiliation and absolute loss of control of our most intimate property, so that macro and micro-vultures begin feeding upon us.

The morals of the story boys and girls: only our memories survive so be good to each other (that especially includes me).

Omar Phoenix

Urstruly #10:

The same wise guy/gal also wrote this for the other side:

(plzzz the following in NO way represents my thoughts/reservations on this issue-:)

I`m Glad I`m A Man

I`m glad I`m a man, you better believe.

I don`t live off of yogurt, diet coke, or cottage cheese

I don`t bit-ch to my girlfriends about the size of my breasts

I can get where I want to - north, south, east or west

I don`t get wasted after only 2 beers

and when I do drink I don`t end up in tears.

I won`t spend hours deciding what to wear,

I spend 5 minutes max fixing my hair

and I don`t go around checking my reflection

in everything shiny from every direction.

I don`t whine in public and make us leave early

and when you ask why get all bitter and surly.

I`m glad I`m a man, I`m so glad I could sing

I don`t have to sit around waiting for that ring.

I don`t gossip about friends or stab them in the back

I don`t carry our differences into the sack.

I`ll never go psycho and threaten to kill you

or think every guy out there`s trying to steal you.

I`m rational, reasonable, and logical too

I know what the time is and I know what to do.

And I honestly think its a privilege for me

to have these two balls and stand when I pee

I live to watch sports and play all sorts of ball

It`s more fun than dealing with women after all

I won`t cry if you figure out it`s not going to work

I won`t remain bitter and call you a jerk.

Feel free to use me for immediate pleasure

I won`t assume it`s permanent by any measure.

Yes, I`m glad I`m a man, a man you see

I`m glad I`m not capable of child delivery

I don`t get all bit-chy every 28 days

I`m glad that my gender gets me a much bigger raise

I`m a man by chance and I`m thankful it`s true

I`m so glad I`m a man and not a woman like you!

cheers.
