Well, I was only pointing out to Tahmed that some of his positions were downright ludicrous and asinine. Offensive was not the word. For a head of state, his lack of knowledge is quite scary. Having a meal with an Israeli co-student or a Hindu neighbor does not make for good neighborliness.

Although i am settled in england for many years ppl are amazed, when i go to Karachi, that i am able to talk in good Urdu!Like you i make it a point to speak in our language since i wnat to practise it and also i wish to think that as its Pakistan i shld spk in Urdu but almost invariably the answer back is in English with a def hint of what i call a dented American accent! I came to England to study chartered accountancy which i completed and now have my own practise; i would love to get a job in Karachi and did apply as well and did not even egt an acknowledgement - guess i ought to know someone influential but then thank God I am not that desperate as i have an excellent business over here; another thing they all think i live in London which is taken as synonymous with England when in fact I live miles away. Indian influence in the US

IT should be a matter of serious thought for Pakistanis to know that in the last about 10 years there is a sharp rise of Indian technocrats in the USA.

I have recently returned home from the USA where I gathered following facts which are self-revealing:

The co-founder of Sun Microsystems, the company which is sweeping the internet with its brainchild, JAVA, is Vinod Khosla.

The creator of Pentium chip (needs no introduction as 90% of today`s computers run on it) is Vinod Dham.

The third richest person in the world, according to the latest report in the Fortune magazine is Aziz Hashim Premji - CEO Wipro - (the Sultan of Brunei is now at 6th position).

The current President of AT&T Bell Labs, the creator of C, C++, unix to name a few is- Arun Netravalli.

The founder and creator of Hotmail, world`s No. 1 web based e-mail programme is Sabeer Bhatia. The General Manager of Hewlett Packard is Rajiv Gupta. The Testing Director of Windows 2000 is Sanjay Tejwrika.

The Cheif Executive of Citibank, Mckensey, Stanchart, are Victor Menzes, Rajat Gupta and Rana Talwar respectively.

The CEOS of the following well-known companies are Indians as well.

AppNet America Online (the largest ISP in the world), Lucent Technologies (pioneer in Fibre Optics), Proxicom, Network Solutions (the sole web domain assigner), General Dynamics Corporation. Lazara Freres. Litton PRC, Columbia Capital, Primus Communications, Discovery Communications, Bell Atlantic, Cable & Wireless, The Motley Fool, Huges Network Systems, Cybercash, MCI Worldcom, PSI Net. The above lot of Indian technocrats are the wealthiest people among all ethnic groups at present in the US and even faring better than many white and native Americans.

Currently there are about 3.5 million Indians in the US. Profession-wise:

From the above figures it can be safely gauged that the presence of such a large number of highly educated Indians working in important and high positions in the US will ensure a formidable political and social clout for India which is bound to have profound influence on US foreign affairs and economic matters. Indians are now rapidly getting in the second position next to Jews and becoming a potential threat to the Jewish influence and dominance in USA.

It is a moment of serious thought and challenge for the Pakistani people as to how we can catch up with the strides made by Indians in political, economic and educational fields. All we need is dynamic, and honest leadership which can uphold the right priorities and merit.

It was Omar in # 73 mentioned that beard is kept by other religious leaders as well. like the jews. But as far as I know, it is only in pakistan that making fun of a muslims beard is considered blasphemy, the nexus of beard and religion is in the criminal codes.

Now about blood, so many pakistanis have mentioned about their blood connection. One has even claimed it back 1400 years, others have traced it to Gaznvi, one claims a mixed kashmiri blood for supporting the jihad, the lists go on. Then there is the concept of blood money, acrime can be annulled by payment of money, or rather the punishment can be neutralised.

Then of course jihadic crusaders entering kashmir are essentially on a blood job. Blood and bone is a nutrient for plants, blood and beard should be a nutrient for the spirits, just guessing, in some countries.

Sir, your lack of knowledge amuses me. I had put up a big post but Chowk staff thought it wise to take it of for reasons only they know best.

Be it that you try to undermine the historic relations between Pakistan and Turkey, by one visit by a Turk Prime Minister who was actually imprisoned in Turkey once for being the enemy of the state and secularism.. and who leads a coalition Government. Be it your chants of Taliban Zindabad right after the esteemed names of Ataturk and Jinnah ..something I really didnt understand seriously :) but then I dont possess your acumen.

Or be it your attempt to try and prove that Urdu and Hindi are somehow same ... failing I suppose to listen to ``the Doordarshan Hindi samachar`` or

PTV Urdu Khabarnama and appreciating the differences. As far as Urdu is concerned, I believe that it is as distinct as a language. One is very justified to believe that what you speak in India on a day to day basis is Urdu not Hindi.

Maybe you would ponder over some works by ``Paul Sprachman`` and ``Dina Legaulle`` two Israeli professors on this subject.

No of. abroad offers - 60 in Cal and 70 in A

Average dollar salary 80 K In cal and slightly higher in A. with the highest going to 150 k for a fresh graduate in U.S.A ( Lehmann brothers) and 150 k pounds in U.K.( Mitcehll Madison group)

Highest Indian salary from the campus 25 lakhs in A (Chase Manhattan group)

Average Indian salary 5-5.5 lakhs per annum over a batch of 220 people in C and 180 in A and this excludes dollar salaries.

Now to ali1:

Bajaj Auto does not come to campus. they wont even get a day 6 slot in the campus..

Even assuming that it used to come to campus in 1991 or assuming that someone from yai yai yum joined Bajaj auto and worked there for 4 years, he will easily get more than 20,000..

there is absolutely no need for him to go and work in some middle east country for less than 20,000 and that too leaving a secure job in india..

if he had done so, it could be bcos of some other reasons OR

u paki, your brother in law got conned by someone who is posing as an yai yai yum grad ...
