AAP PATNA MAIM RAHTE HAIN,

FROM NATION OF TODAY,

Ever since the present government took over, Altaf Hussain desperation has crossed all limits because of the fact that the government is not ready to give any allowance to his errand boys as he used to get from Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif due to his clout. His SOS appeals to New Delhi are indicative of his utter desperation. His new move to shift his headquarters from London to Patna in Bihar leaves nothing secret about his Indian connections and the game plan to malign Pakistan.

// THERE IS A CONCEPT OF JIHADIC BALANCE, JIHAD HAS TO MET WITH ANOTHER JIHAD, AS IT HAPPENED WITH IRAN AND IRAQ. A shia sunni balance, a mohajir-sunni balance, a shia- taliban balance, there are various options to be explored.

:) Indeed an insightful, and interesting post by SR.
It escapes my mind, but there is a term to describe claims of superiority of one culture over the other…. This phenomenon has been a focus of much research and study in sociology. Endangered/extinct status of many indigenous cultures in Western societies is explained on the basis of this behaviour. I suppose similar behaviour exists locally in the multicultural sub-continent, which leads to various segments/shades/branches/versions of our own “desi” culture claiming superiority over each other. An example would be Urdu-speaking migrants claiming superiority over indigenous Sindhi culture and vice versa. I don’t know if desi sociologists have done any work in this area - specifically targeting the various versions of desi cultures claiming superiority over each other. An added complexity in South Asia would be that claims of superiority are not always purely on cultural grounds. When Muslims, for example, claim superiority over Hindus or Christians of Pakistan, it’s a mixture of religious, cultural and socio-economic grounds on which they do so. But then, same can be said about “pioneer” settlers of US and Australia. They believed in the superiority of Western culture not only on cultural grounds. Christianity played a major role in reinforcing this view/behaviour. May be culture and religion are inextricably interwoven. I still don’t understand the dynamics of interaction between religion and culture….

Also, it perplexes me that we are entering 21st century, and yet major religions of the world have not been able to figure out that the way forward is not in comforting their followers with promises of superiority over other religions/cultures or in assuaging the miseries of souls by describing all others (other than the followers of their own religion that is) as misguided, and bound to hell, but by having dialogue with all other religions and coming to an understanding, so that the real purpose of religion in a society i.e. satisfying the spiritual needs of human beings can be fulfilled.

Does this make any sense? Or do you think I am going crazy :)

``just so much crap I can read coming from one person.``

Yeah, whatever Ms. Maulana. You are soooo unbelievably predictable.

So the hijab really represents the ultimate form of liberation for women, eh?

sadna #130 you write that I get you totally wrong and that you dont really care about mudslinging on the chowk. In your earlier post you had written, however, that ``As for the `ordinary Pakistanis` on this board, their obsessive paranoia with the harmless employment opportunities(and religious beliefs) of Bharatis, Indoos, Hindus and Indians, is blocking their vision of the threat and delaying the fight.`` That post had to do with the mudslinging Pakis on the chowk, and it was that to which I had responded in reminding you that there are mudslinging Indians either as can plainly be seen.

However, whether or not agree on this point is not important. The important things I think we both agree upon: that we need to fight violence and hate-mongering of any kind, regardless of nationality or religion of the perpetrator or the cause for which he is fighting.

K FOR KAFIR, B FOR BEARD,

This should soothe the nerves of YLH who insists that there are no books with K for Kafir, from dawn of today

KARACHI: Unauthorized textbooks use to be stopped

KARACHI, Oct 31: The Sindh Education Department has taken notice of the use of unauthorized books and other materials in the educational institutions of the province.

In a circular to the directors of secondary and higher education and of primary education of the five divisions of the province and the directors technical education and the director of Bureau of Curriculum, it has been pointed out that in spite of repeated instructions, some educational institutions were reportedly forcing students to buy books etc, compiled and published by unauthorized foreign and local agencies.

Jay #125,

The title of the above post was BUBONIC PLAGUE AND JIHADIC PLAGUE,

Ali1,

In india, there was an outbreak of plague, following the flooding in Gujarat, it was quickly brought under control by killing the rats. The jihadic plague introduced through the vector of TNT has been raging in pakistan for the last fifty years and now it is in really plague proportions. Millions of the infected are scampering accross the world from kenya to chechnya to the philippines.

There was a virulent carrier of this plague, he was in quarantine in a prison in india, and you know who how he escaped.

The only comparable out break of this proportion in europe had to be blasted of the face of the earth. May be some of pakistanis can help, are you one among them. Please talk to Atlaf Hussain.

``RSaxena (another desi Oreo),

I have to agree with tahmed321. It was very snobby and stupid of you to make fun of krashid.``

Didn`t you promise a couple of weeks ago to not talk to me for a few months? What happened?

``I see a bit of old WWF tag team strategy when you jump in at Mullah Krashid`s defence whenever one of the Indians goes after him. ``

You hit it on the nail my friend. But they`ll need the tag team spirit when the Jihadi rats (ali`s favorite rodent) are let loose on LaWhore.

``On the Pakistanis on chowk, I do think (and tend to agree with ali1 #115) that it works both ways - for every Pakistani mud-slinger there is an Indian mud-slinger``

You get me totally wrong. I don`t really care about mud-slinging on chowk, it doesnot take lives. When as many religiously-bigotted Indians creep into Pakistani-held territory and kill as many innocents as similarly-minded Pakistanis do and all as a profitable cottage industry or as aspiring employees of Liberation Incorp., then one can begin thinking of fairness on discussion boards.

Sadhana

shankar #114 you asked why the Pakistan military is not concerned with the ``mullah threat``. I cannot speak for the military and the extent to which it is concerned with the mullah threat. Speaking for myself, I think that it is only logical that having lost in elections, the mullahs will try to gain power through force. Given that the Pakistan military remains a disciplined and professional force, it is also logical that the mullah-party will have a hard time taking over. As for the real oppressors, you are partly right, but wouldnt the same apply to India as well (more on this below)?

sadna #110 good to read your kind words concerning Pakistanis who stand up to the mullahs. I think only when we start recognizing hatemongers (Indian or Pakistani) for what they are, will we start to get somewhere in the sub-continent.

sadna/ali1: On the Pakistanis on chowk, I do think (and tend to agree with ali1 #115) that it works both ways - for every Pakistani mud-slinger there is an Indian mud-slinger and would have been only fair for sadna to have pointed that out too. However, I do find putdowns of India by ali (``land of the bubonic plague``) to be plain stupid - unless of course he has grown up in an ivory tower and never seen the mess in which most Pakistanis also have to live while the well-off guys like him are having fun on the internet. And I of course pray that ali1 never gets the bubonic plague himself, although he seems to find it quite funny.
