Damn, this poem is depressing. What`s with all the gloom-n-doom writing by Paki women? It seems like you all have either just come out of horrible relationships or are constantly thinking about them.

Chowk is hosting a poetry week till the 1st of April. This week is especially to appreciate the wonderful poets who have sent some great stuff to us. And to provide some change in flavour to the readers of Chowk.
Please share poems in your replies and give feedback on the posted poems.

Now this poem is good and I understood all of it as compared to one by Sarwari and Dreamer. But I will have to agree with Rsaxena that there has been a string of depressing poems being published at Chowk lately-mostly written by ladies-this poem is an exception; it aint so bad. I think the common denominator under all this depression is not the ``relationships`` but it is deficiency of vitamins and calcium because of the self imposed anorexia by the ladies. I think our doctors on Chowk, Shirin and Krashid, will second my recommendation to use milk, lassi, butter, dahi, parathay, Nihari, Payay and tandoori chicken in abundance. This regimen cures everything.

Zeejah,
That was beautiful.Read it so many times , and discovered something new everytime .Words eloquently spread on the canvass ....
``Each time you leave in anger
I die a little death
Until you return.
Life quickens then,
Joyously awakening
And I live again. ``
reminds me of a beautiful verse from Mirza Ghalib
`` MEHR BAAN HO KEY BULLA LO, MUJHE CHAHO JIS WAQT,
MEIN GIYA WAQT NAHIN HOON, KEY PHIR AA BHI NA SAKOON.``
Though both the verses are not exactly synchronised, but both have that feeling of ``Want `` in love !
Will definately visit this site again. My comliments to you for a wonderful piece !
Thanks,& Take care !

Re: AAmir
Dude, lady, whatever,
You are the lamest Paki I have ever taken on on Chowk. Either get some creativity and intelligence or buzz-off. Even krashid with half his neurons inactive fares better than you.
What next? Let`s see, if your pattern holds you`re going to write some garbage on Hindus and/or India in broken English followed by a 2-year-old news story on India from the wild-n-wacky section. So, so predictable.

Chowk Staff #5 ``Chowk is hosting a poetry week till the 1st of April.``
April 1, now that would be April Fool`s Day. So Chowk Staff is trying to pull a fast one, knowing that what starts with sublime poetry will soon be overtaken by doggerel and from there by junk posts like this one.

Ahhaa! Now that was what I call poetry. Was that impromptu? You see my point? Even our English poetry (by desis) need a healthy dose of lassi. Well people! excuse my penuche if I have trouble considering the following as poetry. A nice short article would have sufficed, wouldnt it?
``his room
one dark green inflatable waterproof canvas mattress on the floor
bought from a military surplus shop for 20 australian dollars
serves as bed, study table, and easy chair.
pictures of einstein and max planck from a special issue of the sydney morning herald are on the walls.``

I believe both`of your countries can not afford to even conventional arms race let alone a nuclear one. You guys should stick to improving your populations basic standard of living. I personally believe that Pakistan has no justification being a state. It is totally corrupt and bankrupt. It should be divided equally between Iran and India. I think that may happen in the future anyway.
