Unfortunately, this traveling is just soul-sucking, boring tedium. No chance for inspiration here. *sighs *

MacGupta, writing itself is a self-indulgent, rather narcissistic act, so indulging in depression is just a step further,... or back.
The razor blade brigade...I like that.:-) Very clever.
Farzana and others, thanks for your comments, and indeed there is no greater therapy than giving in to long-denied tears.
Yes, I`ve been away from Chowk for a while now, though I have been lurking. New job, too much travel, critical family health issues-- all of these combined, kept me away from one of my favorite indulgences.
Thought I would send off this note before leaving for another trip later today.
Thank you all for reading and for your comments. Looking forward to more.

Is not this kind of sorrow, no matter how well-expressed, a self-indulgence ?

Beautiful. Dark and sad and intriguing and alluring, irresisitable. I wish there were more, I was transported, away. But I don`t dare to read it for a third time. Thank you.

Jawahara:
Cut. Cutting. Cutting edge. Felt connected and felled. Can`t say more. Time to free those ``long-denied tears``?

Jawahara, welcome back to CHOWK. I would ask
you the same question that I directed towards
Shandana Minhas, as to the reasons for the absence, but I will not repeat it.
So once again the ``Razor Blade Club`` shines
on CHOWK brighter than ever this week, as two of the best female writers (in my opinion)that we have encountered here persist in using their talents to cheer us up with the depths of despair.
I was a little down after reading Shandana`s piece, but little did I know that it was just an opener for this one.
So could you please attempt another writing where people are not slashing their wrists? I`ll be really grateful and may not even mention Kashmir here for a month (or possibly longer).
Beautiful writing as usual. Is there going to be a book coming out soon?
Ras
