Akash, Dost Mittar:
You guys are right. Gaali deney mey koi shekhi nahi hai. Any idiot including myself can do it since it requires no talent or skill whatsoever.
It was a gut reaction. Being called a langoor by UrsTruly, Heeng oozing by Sarwari...and then of all things ``Bhindi Dick`` by Ali#1...that was the last straw, and I just gave vent to my anger. I am sorry though and I hope that I can control my temper enough in the future not to hit back in the same coin. My apologies to all, including Ali#1.

harimau #206,
Man, you guy are pathetic.
When you have nothing to say, you take personal information, twist it, and turn it into something evil. That`s extremely low. But then you`re a low person.
You don`t know anything about my father or what he has done, so leave him out of it. We were hurt by what happened, and now we`re over it.
And where did I rationalize what happened in NY and DC? You pretend to know so much but you know nothing.
You make me sick!

Deport every single national of any country that uses terrorism as state policy back to their home country. If they claim to be dissidents and claim persecution, put them in a concentration camp.
No visas for anybody from these countries.
If they must absolutely be allowed to visit civilized countries, they should be only seated on the last but one row of the plane with their hands cuffed to the armrests. A Federal marshall should be seated in the last row with guns at the ready to blow their brains out if they so much as say `Bo`.
Yes, we will hear cries about civil rights violations but if we have people like Scout, PM, YLH, Urstruly and F_K treated like this, there is a chance they will speak up against their fcuking mullahs. Until then, we will hear justifications for blowing up the WTC towers or the Bamiyan Buddhas.
So, remind me, you pea-brained idiots, what was the crime that Buddha committed for his statues to be blown up?
Oh yes. He was not Prophet Muhammad. That is good enough.”

there are idiots and then there’s this guy:
WASHINGTON, Sept. 21: American Muslims and other Americans have reacted angrily to remarks made by a Republican legislator, Representative John Cooksey, ridiculing Muslims.
In a radio show, Mr. Cooksey stated: “If I seen someone come in that’s got a fan belt wrapped around the diaper on his head, that guy needs to be pulled over.”
Mr. Cooksey later apologized for his remark, but he continues to stand by the idea that airport security personnel should focus on passengers of Middle Eastern of South Asian appearance, wearing turbans.
American Muslim organizations have warned that such remarks can make Muslims a target for further harassment. Already, the FBI is investigating some 40 incidents of hate crimes in the wake of the Sept 11 attacks.
The Washington Post, castigating the legislator in an editorial on Friday, said political leaders had a special responsibility to fight stereotyping and bigotry in the present climate. “While other officials are rising to the occasion, Rep Cooksey has fallen flat.”

“Pakistanis should be more proactive in my opinion if they want to frustrate the evil designs of evil Hindians (hehehe, I like this). Maleeha Lodhi should appear more often in the media and speak in plain English instead of her diplomatic-speak. Pakistan`s official line has been thoroughly discredited, time to change track me thinks.”
To further get her point across she should wear a bathing suit in Pakistan’s national colours with flashing disco lights (green and white, naturally). Also hijab, of course. Each television appearance should be preceded by a short “get to know you” type segment featuring Maliha at home preparing dinner, so that the audience can identify with her as “real people” (jee haan, like they did with Nancy Reagan). To avoid fruitless [!] speculation let me specify that she’ll be chopping bhindi.

Which part of statement in #202, ``Islam is problematic becuase of words in the inerrant book`` did you not understand?
In any case, my point to Gowdy and harimau was that if you are going to judge a system ONLY on the basis of the worst actions of its adherents, then they would have to hold that Christianity (as a religion) was a religion of Hate and Intolerance, living in the Middle Ages. The truth is that what was practised then was as far from Christ`s message (or Paul`s) as can be imagined.

U.S. attacks could provoke more fury
By ERIC MARGOLIS
Contributing Foreign Editor
Attacking Afghanistan, a dirt-poor, medieval nation of 24 million, would certainly help assuage America`s fury over the apocalyptic terrorist attacks of Sept. 11. But the dangers posed by an enraged American bull rampaging through the nuclear china shop of South Asia are not yet understood by politicians or the public.
Military men are taught to keep cool heads at times of maximum stress, fear and anger. This is good advice for Washington. However outraged it may be, the U.S. needs to remember its strategic and economic interests abroad, and its seven million Muslim Americans, 70% of whom voted for Bush, who are now the nation`s second-largest religion.
Few Americans have ever been to Afghanistan. Fewer in Washington or the media know or understand anything about this complex, remote land. As Gen. Musharraf said Wednesday, ``strength without wisdom is foolishness.`` The U.S. needs to pause, and take a deep breath. And recall, before it destroys wretched Afghanistan, that 1.5 million Afghans died fighting the Soviets so that American troops did not have to go to war there. Americans owe all Afghans a debt of honour.

RE: PM
I thought you were saner than this article leads us to believe....
You talk of Christianity and the Crusades as an analogy for Islam and Jehad.
If the Crusades were going on today, I would`ve have said something is wrong with Christianity and it needs to be addressed. Luckily, Christians figured it out for themselves and fixed it several hundred years ago. In its present form, the religion doesn`t lend itself to easy misinterpretation of that kind.
It takes courage to say something is wrong and fix it...credit to Christianity for doing that.
Most Hindus, for example, will tell you that caste system is wrong and even if it has nothing to do with religious scripture, there is something wrong with the religion if it lends itself to that kind of manipulation. One has to admit that something is wrong and needs to be addressed. There is no shame in it. Most Muslims refuse to take that step and keep insisting that it is just misinterpretation of religion --- well then go fix whatever it is that is causing so much misinterpretation!!! Don`t expect the world to do it!
That`s the point!

btw, Sameer, ``Pride in Pakistan``?!? Where`d you pick that up? Love, maybe (being a teacher does this to one :)), but pride?? I dare say there is little here to be proud of (except, of course, if one may take pride in individual heroism, which we do have much of -- A.S. Edhi, Asma Jilani, Akthar Hamid Khan, Imran Khan, Cowasjee, and the many lesser heroes one does encounter in everday life.)
