Pakistanis
Start believing PTV again. Evil Indian government is again trying to malign Pakistan.
CD 7444 ‘hijacked’ again by hoax callers
Swati Chaturvedi
(New Delhi, October 13) (HindustanTimes)
Anonymous callers tried to provoke Indian civil aviation into another round of nervous reaction this afternoon, barely 10 days after the hoax that led to the ``comedy of terror``.
Investigators suspect it to be the work of the same set of callers who pushed the nation to an edge on October 3.
Two calls were made to the number 5671197 at the Alliance Air office in Delhi at 3.30 pm and 3.48 pm, warning that the airline`s Mumbai-Delhi flight CD-7444, scheduled for 11 pm, ``would this time be hijacked for real``.
This is the same telephone number on which the hoax call was made the first time. The warning was also about the same flight.
The response appeared more controlled this time. The watch supervisory officer who received the calls immediately informed the Commissioner, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, and the airlines top brass. This information was promptly relayed to the IB chief KP Singh. And the Crisis Management Group (CMG) was also briefed.
This time the investigators were luckier. One of the callers was a woman, while the other seemed a child. The calls were traced to a mobile number (9837229447) in Bajpur, UP. This is a cash card number, and investigators have not been able to identify the user yet. However, the several calls made from this number between 2.30 pm and 4.09 pm are leads for intelligence agencies.
The flight was, meanwhile, cleared to take off at its scheduled time.

He is the grandson of first chief minister of Punjab Sir
Sikander Hayat Khan and son of Mazhar Ali Khan, founder of
Pakistani daily newspaper, Dawn.
The above leaders you mention were actually of the Unionist Party of Punjab, right?
Also, I thought Jinnah was the founder of Dawn newspaper. This real good friend of mine here, her grand-dad was the editor of Dawn during independence, a Bengali but a Pakistani nationalist. (The editor, not the girl)

``you assume too much….i, for one, am sick of the bloodshed in kashmir…you can keep it and maybe then we could get on with life….``
Semi, don`t say that too loudly. I have a feeling that if Pakistanis didnt want Kashmir so desperately, Indians would begin to ask themselves what on Holy Earth THEY were doing there! Unfortunately, Kashmir, today, is not about Kashmir. It is about India and Pakistan.
But to keep hope alive, may more of us come to share your point of view.

I posted this in an earlier board, but it might have gotten censored. But here is another try:
if India has been furiously gyrating her hips to attract attention, couldn`t we say that pakistan shamelessly spread her legs to land her catch?wc

The sole remaining diplomat of the Taliban outside Afghanistan, Saeef in Pakistan, has gone back to the bombed out Kandahar (gandhara to old cultural, anthropological buffs) in a rush. He is said to be carrying a special message from the rat who was the board member of Rabita (a banned and poscribbed association/organisation) and CEO of Pakistna Musharraf.
Is the ultimatum about the mushroom clouds and bio-warfare being sent to afghanistan after the antharax outbreaks in US!?
I hope the taliban heed Mushy dudes word. Else there will not be an afghanistan worth living for soon.

Re: Hariharan
It wasn`t Zia who declared Ahmadis to be non-Muslims, it was Z. A. Bhutto. Bhutto also banned alcohol, horse racing, gambling, etc. All this was done in a desperate attempt to undercut the support of the opposition, mainly Islamist, parties in Pakistan. It goes against the grain for Indians (and most Pakistanis as well) to NOT blame Zia for everything bad in Pakistan but he didn`t do everything. As I said in another post, Zia merely built the edifice on the foundation dug by ZAB.

Dear Stuka:
You writ:
Pakistan under Mussharaf has made the right choice``
Mr. Musharraf had no choice but to make this choice -- it`s an imposed ``choice`` -- do it or else.
It`s indeed a very right ``choice`` for Pakistan -- that really should not alarm BJP India -- ``furiously gyrating her hips`` to draw attention (very funny but very true).
It is not only good for Pakistan but it is good for India that Pakistan has become a ``captive`` of Anti terrorism coalition.
India will be part of the coalition and must help without expeting any wages or ``rewards``.
Now US ad the Allies will see to it that Mr. Musharraf starts tightening the noose around its own terrorist groups in Pakistan under the direct supervision of US Defence deparment and State Department.
It can only benefit India and bring some tranquility on the LOC.
There is also a possibilty of change of policy vis s vis India -- ie extension of hand of friendship to India by Musharraf.
It does have a danger of imposing Mr. Musharraf`s personal rule on Pakistan for a decade or two -- but he must hold elections come October 2002 -- that much is assured.
What is not assured is Mr. Musharraf`s personal safety during coming year -- that`s a big worry for the United States right now.

Answer to Shammi #126
Well said, Shammi.
I have heard that the Pakistani establishment has been pounding their institutions to be careful about ``Bania shrewdness`` or ``chanakya smart``, etc.
I guess that could be partially true.
There are fundamental flaws on their claim to Kashmir. Pakistan is an islamic state which by design is flawed. An extension of that islamic state to Kashmir would make Hindus(pandits) second class citizens immediately. As much as Islamic apologists crow about ``equal treatment of minorities``, all one has to do is look at their score card.
1. minorities cannot aspire to become president, prime minister of Pakistan because one has tobe a muslim. That in itself is undemocratic.
2. blasphemy laws by nature of undemocratic.
3. with one stroke of a pen, zia made ``ahmadis`` non-muslims and they are subject to be jailed just for praising prophet mohammad; they cannot say `sallam malekum`` vs a tourist from the west can say the same thing and it is ok.
4. they have separate electorates for minorities. the irony is that even here the minorities are afraid to contest election where they are a majority beause of threats to their personal lives from these fundos; they in effect are represented by muslims by default.
all the islamic countries have ridiculous laws which when seen from a democratic perspective is shocking.
India is an institutional democracy. it may not be perfect but atleast a muslim widow can sue and approach the supreme court for maint alimony based on equal rights provision of the constitution.
If pakistan tomorrow, declares itself a secular democracy that would be fine but they would bad for the two-nation theory.
My question to palestine, kashmir apologists:
what would be your answer if minorities in palestine christians, kashmiri hindus or coptic christians in egypt request a separate homeland based on their religious convictions?
Till to date, I have not seen that many institutional democracies in the islamic world except for Bangladesh. But Bangladesh is not an
``islamic`` republic. it is peoples republic. Perhaps, islamic countries can learn a thing or two from Bangladesh.
Thanks.

Guys,
I was surprised to see on CNN weather conditions in Afghanistan.
Barbecue temperatures are not being mentioned.
If you 72-virgin-seekers keep up the Anthrax nonsense inside the US, I can readily imagine the weather conditions in Kabul.
``Temperatures of 1 million degrees Celsius were reported in Kabul with mushroom cloud cover over the city.``
Ha, ha, ha.
