For the record, I may not agree with the art or even like it, but I defend the right of the artist to create, the public to view, the individual to perceive/respond to it,as long as they don`t censor or destroy it. So bringing up Serrano is a bit of a moot point. Someone in my country likes him, and so I live with it. Secondly, are you suggesting your post in any way approaches an artistic expression? I`ve seen more humor, insight and craft on a National Geographic Show.

Thirdly, I just don`t ``get`` what your point in out crassing the next person is. The logic is...? Finally, Maher`s work is a poem that allows interpretation. Could the poem, like many poems be about desire? Is writing about desire a crime? Tell me, A Sahib, why did you react to such a small moment in a ridiculing manner?

Any student of poetry or literature understands the art of minimalism.Japanese and Chinese poets are the masters of this technique. Lets look at an example:

Slender, delicate, soft jade,

I think you are the one who was recently extolling the western-virtues of that piss in bottle & the icon(I cannot blasphem the name) art exhibit somewhere.

Today I read that another of your fellow traveller `artist` got a grant of 1300 dollars for his art exhibit in a gallery.The art?five vials of his sperm which he refreshes & produces by efficient wristwork.

No Im kidding, of course I know what that was about. I shall now explain myself to the uncouth. The poem was was a chronicle of numerous venerial diseases native to the Iberian peninsula Circa 1670.

For my next trick, I will teach all of you poetry. You will become a great poet like me in no time.

1. Write something down. Anything, the more adverbs the better. The words don`t have to have any relation to eachother. Hell they dont even have to be real words (``nebulaic``).

2. Show someone else what you`ve written. the second party is the key.

3. Invariably the reader will give you a puzzled look. At this moment, and only this moment, you must look at your reader with intense anger (ie. immulate the expression of the father in the scene where he tells his daughter that she`s no longer welcome in the family. He`s found out she was seen with a boy who wears a leather jacket.``)

4. Reader will now begin to question his own intelligence. There must be something wrong with him. Afterall, the poem did make sense to you-otherwise you wouldnt have written it...
