Baygham Sahiba – I am second to none in my appreciation of the exchange of low insults on chowk, but the issue I was talking about is not one of general rudeness/unpleasantness. I’m talking about men who use language designed to specifically shut women up (language which is intimidating, or which women may not be socialised to respond with, or to). And I’m afraid WE do that on Chowk more than THEY do. Criticism should be fair, agreed, but it should also be honest – otherwise it’s pointless. Zafar

A very big thank you for introducing me to Pakistanimusic.com website. It`s a treasure trove of great music and I have spent many hours of sheer enjoyment on this site. PS saxena does not appear to be an evil guy. Just the kind of guy who writes against Pakistan fashionably. You dont trust me? ask scout. And Harimau is a very knowledgeable guy who can talk on the subjects ranging from Indian history to super-computers. He is sometimes corny when he is in the bad mood, just like you go crazy when you break your cellphone:-). For every urstruly/ali1 you guyz have a number of people who are very smart and intelligent like Fuzair, tahmed, Sameer,Bilal, samina, Feroze etc. Most of the Indians hold these people in high regard even when they criticise us.

Why do you take a cell phone into the shower? Using cell phones in a bath in a tub, I can see. But unless you put the cell phone inside a shower cap that you are wearing and have it secured so it doesn`t get any water into it, you can expect the phone to die. And, it is the SECOND one! Don`t you learn from experience? Sigh....

You`re right about Sattar. He & another foreign office spokesman (the same one slammed by Christopher Hitchens, i believe) claimed that india had a hand in the kidnapping. Now they are laying it at the foot of the j-e-m.

pmishra2, I am guessing it will be brushed off as `Indian propaganda`. Trying to evoke the other guy`s good sense and judgement through the American media will ensure safer Americans, but not safer Indians and Pakistanis. The body they first found in Karachi was that of a Pakistani, but where is the uproar and demand for accountability for an innocent`s senseless death?
