The way Jinnah continues to impact the consciousness of us Pakistanis (leading to kaleidoscoping) is amazing. He truly is our father figure for better or for worse.

Anyway a great article... for a long time I have harbored the same feelings towards Bombay, the one city I have always wanted to visit, look at Jinnah`s Malabar Road House. And though I am a Lahori, I never felt more at home than my last visit to Karachi.

Thank God for Jinnah.

Rehan:

Please elucidate where is the `Ustadi`of Jinnah i this article ? Could it be `UstadJi`? as in Nauroji--his mentor.

But, even then, given the content of your rumination don`t you think that would be a stretch as well?

The paras about Muslim boys` journey, the exhaustion, and the ennui(boredom?) was indeed thoughtful.

Let us call it the cultural atrophy and the political entropy of colonial mindset.(Please feel free to use this freshly minted phrase):)
