re: Your posts to me are becoming more and more shrill. I urge you to use reason and to restrain ideology and anger over disagreement.
``Ha``? what kind of argument or position is this?
Oh dear, Hobbyty...apparently my attempts at humor have evaporated over the electronic currents...for the record I`m not angry, nor do I feel that my responses have been shrill...pointed and thorny, maybe, but I am a human being...
My comprehension, logic and rhetorical skills are fine, thank you. I hesitate to reply to any of your posts not out of disinterest, but but time constraints that prevent me from the task of reading and decoding your ideas....
Be well.

Noam Chomsky is a very sensible man who makes
the American people look good worldwide. But how effective is he?
Dissent from the Washington Party Line can be
a very useful tool.
Thanks Rizvi Sahib for this article.

You imagine yourself on a Sisyphusian task of ``deconstructing`` my post - it`s totally unnecessary. My post is straight forward: why should we not have clarity with regard to what ``progressives`` means and how it`s used? Why do and should marxist hide their ideological ``committment``? Please consider, how and why is it unfair to ask, ``in what sense of the word ``progressives`` being used?, in a English political sense, American?, Marxist?
In your call to other ``Indian`` interlocutors, is your frustration a reflection of your committment to intellectual inquiry and to understanding points of view, dissimilar with one you hold?
I think you are very angry and it has nothing to do with me. How can I or anyone else be responsible for your inablity to reason, argue, explain or respond meaningfully?

Hobbyty,
``I am forming the opinion that you not only dislike others disagreeing with you, but also you do not want to respond to constructive criticism.``
Ha! If I could only understand what the criticism was...by all means, bring it on, but having tried to engage with you in debate and invariably finding myself being abstracted and obscuranted out the window, I request that you dumb this criticism down for the likes of people like me who like their sentences with plain, short words. Otherwise, I feel as if the wool is being pulled over my eyes and the sheep have gone home long ago.
I am completely resentful that the Indian interactors seem to be able to debate with you while I need hours to decontruct what you write...Zafar, Sadna, Prem, Dost Mittar, I`m talking of you people...
Eid Mubarak to all!

That`s hardly a reasonable or rational statement; how you can you claim not understand a ``paragraph`` of what I write, and yet, respond to it. Come on, now. I think you are being reflexive in seeking to evade your writing and thinking being labeled, marxist. What I find fascinating about so many on the so called, ``left`` on Chowk is the pasion with which they espouse marxist ideology, but lack the conviction to stand and declare their thinking and ideas as marxists. It`s no crime to be a marxist and it honesty is a public and individual good.
It is recognized, even by Marxists, that marxist thinking or ideology or analysis, can appreciate reason. And reason can assist with clarity, regardless of our ideological persuasion.
I am forming the opinion that you not only dislike others disagreeing with you, but also you do not want to respond to constructive criticism.

Ali,
``As compared with Mr. Chomsky, me and my dog Nehru are more relevant to the American political and intellectual discourse.``
Noam Chomsky`s latest book 9-11 has made the New York Times Bestseller`s List. So again, ali, more than a few people are reading and supporting him. Ironically enough, Chomsky`s book makes the bestseller`s list in a paper that is too conservative to publish an article by him. Guess the American people are smarter than the mainstream press gives them credit for.
Perhaps you should share this info with your dog.

Hobbyty,
Such mild protest-it actually suits you more than that reflexive denunciation and misreprentation of social, eco, and political reform.
What do I mean? Having wrestled with the most trenchant, brilliant and neo-fascistic theorists of them all-Nikolaus Lurhmann- whose work Social Systems defies understanding-although I sussed his main philosophy to mean ``everything is a million systems that we can barely comprehend or record``-what interested me was the slipperiness of his prose. It was as if his prose was a construction devised to repel reader comprehension of how frightening some of his ideas are.
Why can`t I understand a single paragraph that you write?

``You of all interactors should talk.``
What do you mean by that - how have I used obscure definitions? If anything, I am asked not to provide references.
Is it unfair to ask exactly what is meant by ``progressives``? Is it unfair to ask if ``Progressives`` in the English, American or marxist sense?

Mr.Rizvi,
Thanks for the excellent interview! Any thoughts on Dr. Chomsky`s comments in terms of your experiences? Did he have any comments on his presence or lectures given in Brazil at the alternative WEF conference?
Dear Chowk editors,
Please publish more of this kind of work!
regards

Chowk Editors what`s wrong with you guys? Since when is ``progressive`` the same as ``Marxist``?
``Progressive`` in the English political sense or the American? - Please do not take this in any way, other than a request for clarity or towards clarity - yes, even if clarity is equated with simplistic. We must be clear on what words and labels mean.
Mr. Rizvi is clearly a person of conscience, but that does not mean readers should we subjected to vague even obscuritantist definitions.
