Anas, welcome!
You ask ``Why Are We Killing Ourselves?``
I willl not and cannot believe in the same old
ISI-RAW route and play that blame game, But your question needs to be answered. And here is one answer...
Basically, we are killing ourselves because we
happen to be a very poor, easily manipulated
and stupid lot of people who toss our humanity whenever this red flag of religion is waved in front of us. We are stupid enough to believe that we are winning something (by shooting ourselves in the foot) whenever we kill and maim
our neighbor in the name of God or Gods.
And outsiders who have their own interests in mind will continue to come out the winners in all this mess while we burn each other and in the same fire burn our humanity, dignity and yes even our future prospects of human development.
I hope that I have not been too harsh....

HT reports evidence of life in Mars.
Why can`t we send our fundoos(both muslim and hindu fanatics) to Mars. Let them go there and fight it out there.
100 years from now, there will REAL evidence of carbon matter and metallic stuff(swords, spears).
Should India/pakistan work onthis project- Jehadi express?

Rediff reports that a group of Hindus protected a mosque in Bihar(of all the places) from being vandalized.
Sometimes, good happens as well.

Anas:
…Huntington aside…I think we should examine the recent subcontinental holocausts from another perspective…
…consider some of the following:
---the release of taped telephonic conversation between musharraff and his chief of staff around kargil to the indian media.
---yanking the support from under mullah omar.
---the attack on indian parliament december 13.
---resumption of targeted shia killings in karachi and elsewhere.
---kidnap and murder of daniel pearl.
---continued protection provided dawood ibrahim.
---inciting or maneuvering the godhra muslim urchins to terrorise the hindu train passengers (with almost guaranteed reaction from the hindu urchins).
---the pressure applied on jang group’s owners to fire shaheen sehbai (remember him from chowk?), investigative reporter kamran khan and two others.
…there is a case to be made for these tell-tale signs of an internal turf battle inside isi…critics say isi has grown more powerful than the army (ready mushy and corp commanders) and should be put in its place…(ferozk: where do you think fbi and cia are on this?)…the old timers and hardliners (hamid gul and company) in and out of isi do not like usurpation of their power…resulting in mayhem and the continued loss of innocent lives!
