Seriously, you make more sense than a lot of people on chowk (except when one of your nicks disagrees with me, thus displaying a complete lack of understanding of the issue concerned), and you seem to be an amiable chap, not vicious like some others (including self too, I may add, but only when mad at someone else). But then you use one of your multiple nicks to send in the post to chowk and ruin it all - you may be a ``battered husband & henpecked`` in real life (and perhaps some long suffering chowkies would be delighted if that was true I am sure, although I bet you are not even married and dream about taking your cute schoolteacher out on a date), but on chowk you are more like a chicken whose perfectly fine eggs are ignored since the chicken sometimes claims to be a rooster sometimes, sometimes a duck, sometimes Fatimah, sometimes Bhardwaj...

1) So it was a misunderstanding, I am sorry.

2) Go read Harimau the tolerant has been saying for over 2 years now. He deserved to be called what I called him... he is what he is. I am shocked that anyone would take umbrage for one`s calling a spade a spade.

3) Sameerjb is sadly one of those people who have that pessimistic view of everything which is nothing but destructive for the nation. I admire his assessment of things, but it pains me to see a man like him without an discernible vision for the future of Pakistan. He is bad news despite his great potential.

What I have said, done, or propagated is NOTHING but the truth which is often a bitter pill to swallow... the Wisdom of my words will be understood and revealed to everyone as Time goes on.

As for myself, I am important not as an individual, there were many like me, there are many like me, and there will be many like me... but it is the importance of my message that makes me important and worthwhile. And there is none so great a truth that I have spoken now.

sattar2: Thanks for the explanation of the Ahmedi message, as opposed to the prophethood issues associated with Ahmedis which I had indicated was not the substantive issue in my view. I need to attend to some other things right now, and may get back with a more thought-through post later.

To semipreciousme, anNy, roohi and Aamir (I was in two minds on whether to include Aamir with the angels on account of his multiple nicks, but he did write a nice post and we can always use those on chowk): Thanks for the good wishes and kind words. There are some idiots on chowk, and a number good people too as anNy points out. In fact more good people than idiots, I think, and it just seems that there are more idiots.

PS: anNY: post #130 is a fake, although no doubt the real mrs.ahmed would agree with it. She thinks, e.g., that I spend too much time ``chatting with strangers on chowk``. Fortunately, one can have a perfectly happy marriage without requiring that both individuals be perfect human beings, or agree fully on everything.

You are right when you say religious teachings of prophets got corrupted over time and hence the need for reinforcing the original teachings by a new prophet.

You also say among other religions, hinduism started with belief in oneness of God and got corrupted along the way. That is your opinion and is certainly not a fact. You are perhaps not aware of the teachings of Vedas and Upanishads which emphasise Oneness of God and celebrate Him in all His myriads of manifestations. Vishnu Purana says ``Akashat patitam toyam yatha gachati sagaram, sarva deva namskarah Keshavam pratigachati`` meaning : Just like all the rainwater from the skies finally reach the Ocean, worship of Gods finally reach the same source (one supreme God). This belief is held by all hindus. That is why you do not find hindus killing each other on religious beliefs. Shaivites and Vishnuvites (followers of Shiva and Vishnu) do not kill each other. They used to quarrel over who was a better God! Not anymore. All these Gods are worshipped with respect with the belief that these are just images of the same God, who though formless and One, can assume any form per the wishes of His devotees. Today we see Shias and Sunnis killing each other in Pakistan. Such things do not happen among hindus. There struggle today is caste based and not religion based. Even a low caste Hindu (i abhor the word low caste but i use it to convey a meaning) worships the same God as a high caste hindu.

Hence, get your facts straight about other religions. I agree that the prophet of Ahmadiyas did a great service in highlighting the fact that the real jihad is in our minds and that is where we should be fighting the jihad and not in the battlefields.

a very erudite rendition of iqbal`s thought but there is one area where i disagree. it was not iblees who accepted his role in the scheme of thiings if you recall in the quran it is adam who seeks forgiveness and says it is i who was forgetful. adam mind you was aware even at that time that everything was willed by God he knew his role in the game he knew he was meant to fall victim to iblis`s ploy and he accepted his role. you see all the angels bowed to adam when he was created that means the angels of intellect alos bowed and the quran says above every knower is another knower and adam recited the names of all the angels and creatures he was not deprived of intellect he knew what was happenning he submitted without complaining. Iblis complained to his Lord, you made me do this, with all hisknowledge he did not submit to his role.

Adam was the first insan e kamil. i agree that challenges bring out the best in man adversity builds character and we associate negative events in our lives as originating from the negative spectrum of creation which we call iblis but we forget there is a negative spectrum to the names God Himself has chosen to be called by, the Destroyer,the Wrathful, the Majestic, the Transcendent the Misguider, the role of ibless in islamic thought is not out of God`s control as is thought in Christian mythology he is simply a tool as well and he is the instrument by which God tests the mettle of his cretaures
