ylh #122 I have already posted a befitting response below - indeed a challenge, no less!! - to your post #128.

But I kept on reading after that and see that you end your post #122 with a PS that was too good to let go: you write ``PS But ah, shankar will continue his unjustified support for this monster!``

Monster!! Moi?? Is this a promotion from the Budha Babba you had made me last week (the one that carries off 21 year old infants in his sack while the baby sitter is warming bottled milk for the future Leader of the Nation)? And Shankar provides unjustified support to me...I bet Shankar realizes the error of his ways after reading your post.

Vajpayee and his government have outlived their usefulness. Vajpayee proved himself to be unequal to the task of promoting communal harmony. He proved to be a father who favored one of his sons over others. A house divided against itself cannot stand. All fantastic projections of economic growth will come to nought if life and limb are not safe. Gujarat, India`s richest state, is ample proof of that. It is a shame that he is bringing his 5 decades long parliamentary career to an ignominous close. Chandrababa Naidu may just do it:

TDP to Withdraw Support?

tahmed,

Go to hell, you senile fool.

My own post 122 has a Link to your earlier unprovoked attacks on me. Had you gone back and seen my post you would know how incredibly stupid and idiotic you are.

Yeah come on everyone gang up on me... but Tahmed is what he is .. and he is NOT worthy of my respect... he is a maniac who thrives on lecturing people... he is a desperate loser without any life whatsoever.

Shankar,

Well done. What do you want me to say? You are right and I am wrong? cuz keep trying that aint happening, not because I am incapable of seeing my mistakes but because tahmed is not all you fellas have made of him.

He is disgusting human being without any self respect or respect for others. There was absolutely no point in him attacking me unprovoked... not on this board... and not in all the instances that I have quoted in my post 122.. and other posts.

Tahmed deserves what is coming to him... and so does a mentally unstable, and overtly narcissistic good for nothing shrink like yourself.

Shanta under cloud for remarks on Modi ouster

Pankaj Vohra
(Panaji, April 13)

Speculation is rife here over the continuation of Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shanta Kumar in the Union Cabinet.

He was severely reprimanded by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the BJP National Executive meeting on Friday for airing his views in public about internal party affairs.

Kumar, who is also former Himachal Chief Minister, had come out openly against the VHP and some frontal organisations of the Sangh Parivar who, according to him, were tarnishing the image of the BJP. ..``

Looks like somebody is blackmailing Vajpayee ji into saying things which i personally thinks he does not believe in . But still if the leader can be blackmailed then he is not fit to be a leader .

Previosuly , we muslims in india were blamed for atrocities committed by invaders in medieval times or more recently blunder committed by a certain Mohammed Ali Jinnah . Now , Godhra will be a weapon in the hands of these fascist organisations . what more when the Prime Minister himself blames the entire community . Ofcourse , our prime minister (or is it his advisers) thinks globally and links muslims to the entire mess on the face of this earth .

Serious case of we are o.k but You are not o.k .

May better sense prevail

re: shammi # 164, 165

You are right. India, as a whole, has touched a new low, if that were possible at all.

Mr. Vajpayee has lost all moral standing. He serves no positive purpose anymore.

Hard to be American with tacit US complicity in Israel`s crimes in the West Bank.

Hard to be Indian with a Prime Minister like Vajpayee.

Got to drop all group identities and try find a new one that one can be proud of. Any ideas?

Its depressing out here.

re: sadna & shammi

...it is def time for the old man vajpayee and the ignoramuses in his cabinet to bid adieu...enough is enough...this is not about hindus and muslims...it is about why a chief minister did nothing to prevent jungle rule in his state...about why he jeopardized the country`s economic growth and as a result the future of its citizens...and why a prime minister turned into an imbecile incapable of doing anything about it...

...the way to handle godhra was to find the muslim culprits and have them tried and executed...and then to do the same with terrorists from kashmir...not by allowing jungle rule on the streets of the country...

...i hope TDP withraws support and the BJP fcukers get what is coming to them at the next elections...there are better men even amongst the sorry group of indian politicians to lead the country...chandrababu naidu (at least the guy has a vision and is a one-man, laptop-wielding foreign investment generator), manmohan singh the professional economist, p. chidambaram the harvard law school genius, and so on...

...but please save the country from that bumbling idiot sonia gandhi...

ylh #122 So I take it you find yourself unable to respond to my challenge below to cutandpaste from any of the posts I have written to substantiate your insulting, humorless posts. Instead, you simply rant some more.

Unfortunately, name-calling is no substitute for reasoned argument. I suggest you take the various posts you have written on chowk, make a binder out of them, and present them to your teachers at Rutgers as evidence of their failure to make anything out of you.

An Indian summer

By Edward Luce

Published: July 1 2002 20:59 | Last Updated: July 1 2002 20:59

American diplomacy has averted the imminent threat of war between India and Pakistan. But senior members of the Bush administration know that it is only a matter of time before military tensions flare up again between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

The prospects of renewed tension were underlined at the weekend with the appointment of L. K Advani as India`s deputy prime minister. Although Mr Advani was already seen as the successor to Atal Behari Vajpayee, the prime minister, his new title is a timely reminder of the hardline, anti-Pakistani elements that surround the ageing - and increasingly frail - prime minister.

``It might be three months, it might be nine months, but we all know that India and Pakistan will go back to the brink again,`` says a senior US official in Washington. ``Maybe next time they will go over the brink.``

Until now, the US has consistently respected India`s adamant refusal of third-party mediation on its core dispute with Pakistan over the divided state of Kashmir. But having sweated through the latest and most intense bout of nuclear brinksmanship, the US and its allies are quietly revising their long-held position.

RSaxena #175
(repeating a point made elsewhere) It really puzzles me why noone has pointed out to the BJP leadership with all its pious talk that
BJP stands exposed as being no different from the much-maligned Congress I wrt communalism for political ends.

I would expect a pure Hindutva-ideologue like Modi or a `we willnot tolerate minority communalism` Home Minister like Advani to arrest ALL 2000 or 1000 Muslims involved in setting fire to the train in Godhara. There was video footage of that incident, mass arrests could have been made. Aha, but then there would be no reason for anyone to riot. Instead of arresting guilty Muslims within their jurisdiction as the true natural reaction of a government with an firm and sincere agenda against minority communalism and terrorism, the BJP government talks of the killing of INNOCENT Muslims within its jurisdiction as a `natural reaction`. In other words, the BJP is not being true to its own stated agenda.

The reason is Modi and Advani/BJP national party made the same calculation they accuse the Cong of making, namely that riots are profitable to them, and it doesnot matter to BJP what is the religion of those killed in riots. And idiot Vajpayee is collborating with this calcualtion.

Afterall apart from the 58 women and children dead in Godhara, for which the guilty were not swiftly arrested by brave Hindutva warriors in government, 100 Hindus died in police firing in subsequent riots. These were unfulfilled lives which not even Modi is mourning because to Modi and the BJP/VHP/etc those Hindus are merely designated grist to the mill (like jihadis) for their leaders and organisations to consolidate their hold on power. Great protectors of Hindus!!

Its only the idiot chattering classes who allow BJP to obscure the real issue with a smoke-screen of a purported Hindu vs Muslim communalism issue. The truth is the true issue is nothing but BJP politicians trying to cling to power over the dead bodies of Indians.
