Sahib I think you are confusing Vijay Manjrekar with Vijay Samual Hazare and while his son was not in the same class as Sanjay Manjrekar he represented Maharashtra in the Ranji trophy. Hazare also captained India 14 times. I think his 4th wicket stand of 577 with Gul Mohammed (Ranji trophy) still stands.

In the bitter post by K3K he probably did not know that in the past Indian cricket was dominated by royal families and not Brahmins. Which is why a third rate player like Vizzy (Maharaj Kumar of Vizianagram I think) captained the Indian team in their first match and not C.K.Nayadu. BTW, I printed out the entire book by Talib of the SGPC. It`s quite disturbing, and ofcourse quite one sided. The one thing that I did take away from the book is that literally the Sikh and Hindu interests were indistinguishable at the time of partition. Who would have thought that less than 40 years later, the Sikhs would have to face Hindu mobs in a similar sense.

Rsaxena #727 On use of the term ``untouchables`` in India: I suppose one would also be in trouble if one asked some Delhi ladies the extent to which they were ``touchable`` - as I was tempted to do during my sole night in a India, in a Delhi hotel, from the nice young lady who volunteered to accompany me to my room where she would fill out the hotel forms while I relaxed (Better sense unfortunately prevailed and I never determined the results this scientific inquiry would have generated). This leads me to my next question: is this practice of completing guest forms in their rooms something common in the more upscale hotels in India??
