Well, even if we go by the popular history of that era, the color was not one of the most important issues in Aryan-Drividian conflict, it was power and culture. Drividians are considered much earlier ``invaders`` than indigenous. The scheduled castes and some hill tribes are considered more indigenous than Dravidians.
Going by Aryan prejudice against colored people combined with invasion hypothesis should have resulted in majority white/ olive skin than we currently have. The genes responsible for skin color are not as dominating and recurring as black hair and black eye color. The dark color fades with selective breeding with whites over less than 10 generations with very little chance of producing a jet black kid within 200 years.
A very aggressive white selection would have left a sizable population unwanted and unwed. To the best of my knowledge this has never happened in subcontinent. Another very important thing is presence of fair skin people among poor and low caste people. Based on color alone a poor Kashmiri girl must be highly valued for Telegu or Tamil speaking people but that is not the case.

The prejudice or selection has been name of the game throughout not just human but also animal history. When two daughter of the same parents have different value for potential males, the caste, tribal affiliation, religion, ethnicity, nationality and everything in between deginitely influence.
Nobody marries a person with serious birth defect or disability no matter how white or wheatish she is. Isn`t that a prejudice? It is difficult to clearly draw a line between prejudice, racism and natural selection and survival of the fittest. No matter how open minded and liberal we become, some close mindedness exists in everybody, some of which is in the control of human genome for the purpose of survival of the fittest. Not even Abraham, Moses or Muhammad married a blind, lame or severely disabled women. Jesus and others would not have either if married.
Many of the things are easy said than done. As I said, I like freedom to choose in finding mate but nobody against arranged marriage is rushing to mental institutions to find mate using freedom of choice and equal opportunity for all. The prejudice, selection and racism is equally present in going for marriage not arranged.
My point is that in in blame game, as I explained to Punjabn, passing on the buck to Aryans and British must be judged rationally in addition to looking at your own choices in the name of survival of the fittest. No wonder, my numero uno Guru said: ``Life is dukha because of interdependent arising.`` Best way to deal with it is to consider nothingness and formlessness of its nature as its essence.

Saminasha #65 To say ``black is beautiful`` is as superficial as to say ``gora rang is beautiful``. You live (or work) closely with an individual for a few days, and color of skin, nationality, etc. recedes in the background and the personality, intelligence of that person become important.
