SENSE OF TIMING,

When the jihadists are surrounding islamabad, when the children who learned to identify hindus as part of the curriculum dominate the politics and the military, here is an article about a hindu in pakistan with an ideology that there is no god, a theory that religion is the opiate of the masses.

When the events outside are overwhelming, beena has fallen into regression of irrelevance. When the women in the streets of islamabad are harassed not dressing per the book, here is the story of a man shedding tears for old books. At this rate beena might even write an article on lala lajpat roy and ask for his house to be declared a paki heritage.

Yes, they were rare old books. If u had a library full of your beloved books, you`d shed tears for them too.

I have heard about Sobho a lot during my college and university days in Sindh, Pakistan. I also met him during the 70s at his home in Larkana. At that time I used to work with Jam Saqi,Mir Thebo and other members of the communist Party in Sindh. He was alegend then. I was good to know that still alive and true to idealogy. There are very few like him left in Pakistan now. One of the leader of the communist Party Imam Ali Nazish Passed away several years ago. Have not heard much about Jamal Naqvi in a long time. Can some body let us know what he is doing now a days? I know Jam Saqi is pretty much retired now. These guys have given a lot to sindh. I hope the people would remembe their scarificies for democracy in Pakistan.

Unfortunately the powers that be are always biased and have their own views about patriotism. Patriotism is not dependant upon ethnicity or religion but is solely dependant upon nationality.
