Axiomatically, You are right. Having a wife blocks you from getting bogged down into the date hassles. But the secretive telephonic conversations, sitting close and tight in secluded restaurants , anxiety and the fear whether of losing or staying on with someone has a strange kind of pleasure that is exciting and inexplicable. Women are the most interesting and mysterious creatures of the earth. Why lock yourself up with just ONE ?.

Peace,
Just read another article from Shandaana. I love the variety and range of topics and opinioin at Chowk. Both the articles were superb and truly reflect on LIFE.
As far as getting the action, Nazar is lucky that a dine-out worked the magic. For some women a 1 Carat Diamond ring, a very expensive designer dress, and a surprise party for the wedding anniversary is not enough to return the favour by a little action. Lets just say its life and its not fair all the times. Or may be as another woman once told me that may be the price was not right.
Jaa apni hasraton pey,
aansoo baha kay so jaa.
Peace...

Nazar Khan:
Very nice indeed. Language, genuine and at home with culture & value system.
Such snippets which have a hauntingly desi diction are desperately needed on CHOWK. Genuine Paki writers do not try to pretend that they are amreekans or angraiz by dropping hints that they `stay in touch` with the massas house.
O what a sorry bunch!
munhasir murney pay ho jiss kee umeed
Na-ummeedi uss kee dekhha chahiyay.
(For one whose only hope is death, O how hopeless must he be!)
aap hee kee nazr hai:
Jub kabhee un kee tavujo mein kumee payee gaee
uz sarey nau daastaan e shauq dohraee gaee.

Urstruly:
Good one.
Shouldn`t the word be / mansabON ? ( meaning titles, positions, or posts) meaning :
So finally we were reinstated to our former love-thrones.
------------------------------------------------------
or may be the poor fellow is ready to be taken in again
or he is a very baighairat ashiq :
( A westernised unglee-loving Indi-Paki to the colonist):-
Shayad mujhay nikaal kay pachhtaa rahaiN ho aap
mehfil mein iss khayaal sey phir aa gayaa hooN mein.

Ras,
it`s not a question of whether we women at Chowk accept this easily or not, it`s just that women have different experiences...and this is just one of them. Of course this isn`t my reality...i`m a confirmed singleton, or perhaps the reality of other sisters here on Chowk, but it would be unfair for any of us to ridicule this...at least in my opinion.
Your question seems to have been in jest...but i thought it was interesting to respond to...meanwhile, i`m sure that some of the men here at chowk are masha`allahing and saying `biwi ke saath jeena ho tau aise ho` ;-)

Nazar:

...go full throttle, and no stalling please...civvies get heart-attacks;)
