The last few weeks on chowk have been great regarding wonderful memories of music.

Let me mention my favorites of Ahmad Rushdie...

aaisay bhi haiN meherbaan zindagi ki rahoN maiN
jub milay tau yuN milay, jaisay jantay nahiN...

akaily naa jana
hamay chor kur tum
tumharay binna hum
bhala kia jyayay gai

dil ko jalana hum nai chor dia chor dia

3 cheers for bhabi hip hip hurray

mairay khayaloN pai chayee hai, ik soorut mutvali see

alif sai achee gaaf sai gurya jeem sai japani

mausum haseeN hai laikin tum saa haseen nahi hai

Rakapo$h: Your favorite songs brings in my mind what late Ahmed Rushdi had said in an interview about his favorites which included `Haan isi moar per`, `kisi chaman mein raho tum` and `Bay kal raat betaye`. All the best, Anis.

fara: This is one of the potential reason why we love Ahmed Rushdi, Sohail Rana, Masroor Anwar so much. Sincerely, Anis

During my school days, Ahmad Rushdie`s two daughters used to go in my school bus. I was envious of them having a music legend in their home.

are you sure he left us in 1983 ? it seems like he left us long time back.

Rakapo$h: Ahmed Rushdi left us on April 11, 1983. That is for sure. Yes, his children were young when he died. Rushdi`s younger brother, Imran Rushdi, settled in the U.S.A. years ago. In fact, in recognition of Rushdi`s immense contribution to music, a street in Gulshan-e-Iqbal was named Ahmed Rushdi Road. Thanking you, Anis.

Anis,
thanks for doing justice to one of the best singers to ever come out of Pakistan.

Do keep these articles coming and dont ever let the number of interacts discourage you.

Many CHOWK readers might be too young for the Pakistan Film Industry during its

Golden Era, but people like myself remember it fondly.

Co Co Corina........

Ras: I agree with your views regarding the golden era. How could one forget `tujhay apnay dil say mein kaisay bhula doon`, `Jab raat dhali tum yaad Aaye` and ofcourse, `Mohabbat mein teray sir ki qasam aisa bhi hota hai`
Will try my best to come up with more interesting stuff. Wishing you all the best, Anis.
